Spring Fly Fishing for Big Brown Trout | Insane Streamer Day!

- Streamer fishing has consumed my free time throughout 2024. My search for a big brown trout has led me to explore some truly remarkable water all across the southern Appalachians. Despite failing time and time again, I persevered, learning from each failure along the way. Each lesson culminated in catching the biggest brown trout of my life.
I hope you guys enjoy the video!

Bro said in hopes of not hooking the same fish I moved spots🤣 he cut out the 45 other casts in the same hole. What does he think the fish are dumb? After they get hooked they aren’t eating again for awhile. LOL
Fish don’t have a cerebral cortex, so technically they are dumb. But you’re right Ricky Bobby. I did make a few more casts in that hole. The big fish came after my streamer multiple times, because he’s dumb, so I decided to move. After fighting that fish for a good bit, I didn’t want to put more stress on him. Even the stockers get my respect.
@@SlabDynasty do you realize you will not ever catch a fish twice in 10 minutes. Do your research buddy. Dumb🤣
Lol rusty trombone is wild.
Lol, streamer names are hilarious
nice 14" fish. still waiting for the big one tho
Yeah I’m pretty new to this, so overestimating size is common for me. That being said, I’d say 14” is a vast underestimation. He was certainly a big fish for me, and I think he would measure right around 19” or 20”. Either way, I hope you enjoyed the video! My new goal is to land a 20” wild brown.
@SlabDynasty compared to the size of your net thats a 15" fish.
Definitely not a 15” fish but definitely not 20 either. That fish pond net is 18” long at the opening. At around 7:46 you get a look at how long it is compared to that net length. Looks to me like it would span that length or get close to it if it was laid flat. 17.5 is a good conservative guess
@@jimmychunga2626 17.5 is a good estimate
Love the fly fishing please don’t stop
Glad you like it! Plenty more to come. Next Sunday I’ve got a striper on the fly video coming out.
4x is crazy light for streamer fishing. I’ll break that on a back cast. But I cast heavier streamers because I use a floating line and a long leader. Glad you got your big fish! 🎉
Thanks man! 4x is as light as I go when streamer fishing for trout. This was a small creek situation and I didn’t expect to see fish any bigger than the one I caught. For larger streamers I’ll bump that up to 2x. For smallmouth fishing, sometimes I’ll just run straight 13lb fluoro. I used to throw some really giant streamers on a fairly stiff 8 wt, so 4x was out of the question.
@@SlabDynasty that all makes sense. Thanks for the extra info. Hopefully I can get out for some smallies here soon!!! Def my fave.
No problem! Thanks for watching. Same. Smallies on the fly are addicting. Caught my first striper on the fly recently. About a 27 incher. Insanely fun! Got a video of that coming soon.
Nice big fish dude!
Thanks man! A giant for me lol
