@@VeganV5912 Dude, shut up.
Actually, they’ve found some plants have emotions and can identity what they deem as a murderer. A lady in Japan has a cactus that can count. And they provide oxygen.
So it’s either murder a plant or murder an animal. You’re damned either way. And eating meat is what evolved us past being just tall monkeys. Our guts became smaller because plants are harder to digest. So keep your backwards evolutionary trend. Not all biology is the same. A balanced diet is key, not an obligate diet. Get real.
And while you’re at it, train wolves that they need to go vegan. Don’t worry, I’ll wait.

Leaving those goats alive is the most GOAT act in this entire show
This is the only hunting show I look forward to watching. I couldn't care less if the hosts actually kill anything, it's always entertaining. Steve and the crew set a great example for current and future generations of hunters.
This! Oh my gosh this is what I’m talking about! I have been on three mountain goat hunt in my life also and I just successfully filled my tag on Saturday with a nice big Billy on the Chugach Alaska mountain range also! I had sleepless nights anticipating my next days adventures with plenty of cramps, sore muscles, bruises and blood blisters. Just on Saturday October 10th I was finally successful with a Billy that was so easy to get to after all my grueling trips up and down mountains cliffs trudging through devil clubs and alders!!! It was amazing and I can’t wait to do it again! Oh... I am 60 year old woman who takes after my Grandmother who was a Mountain Goat Hunter also!

Thank you for passing on the nannies!!
Nannie harvests also have a negative factor in how many tags ADF&G will allocate for the draw which equates to more hunter opportunity.
Great show!!
I tip my hat to you Steve as well as to Dan. Passing up the nanny after such an extensive grueling climb speaks volumes. well done gents!
I've tried to explain my goat hunt to people dozens of times... now I just send them a link to this video. Thank you Steven
Everyone talks about how hard it must have been for him ti get through that terrain, but no one talks about how the cameraman had to do it whilst pointing a camera at him at all times
Alright Mr. Totally not the camera guy, here’s your pat on the back
As much as I love the struggle as the next hunter- this hunt just seems like torture. One thing to go through this rough terrain but then on top of that having to go through the rough terrain just to get close enough to see that it's one that you can't/won't shoot. As much as I consider myself to be a "real hunter", Steve is at a level that I will never achieve.
If I was going into a place with that many thorns, I would wear some thick gloves. Steve is amazing and I love that he doesn’t sugar coat anything, the tracking, the missed shots and worse wounding but not killing an animal, the highs and the lows but always trying to do the right thing.
Thanks Steven Rinella appreciate u and all your determination. I just filled my black tail tag here in oregon so watching your hunts gets me into the mindset of moving on to some of my bucket list hunts and expanding my diversity of hunting life. Thank you sincerely, keep up the life.
I just filled mine here in Oregon a few days ago also! It was my first one! Congrats!!

Much love to all the meat eaters and fans that don’t eat meat but watch the show
Love the connection w/ your brother and Alaska it’s amazing.
Even when you're in your 40s, the older brother still walks first in deep snow.
Just the thrill of seeing those beautiful creatures (Oreamnos Americanus) was more than enough. Your efforts to go there and bring this film down those mountains and into our homes are truly admirable and appreciated. Wish they had been introduced here in NZ with the Tahr.
Ive never watched as many video hunts that don’t have success but Steve’s hunting integrity is something to admire and aspire to
onX needs to keep supporting the release of past seasons!
This show is about watching other people struggle from the compfort of your own home!
I remember being in highscool and hiking up the mountains near Mendenhall glacier in juneau Alaska. We were smoking some off the devils lettuce and out of nowhere rocks started falling on us. There was a group of goats just hanging out 300 feet up the slope. It was an amazing place to grow up.
I think it's cool that the video shows that hunting is not only shooting. Sometimes it is walking for hours, waiting for hours, just to then get nothing. There is so much more behind it than just pulling a trigger.
My man. Finally someone who represents hunters for what the majority of us are. My thanks for the great work and video. 👍👍
I have a ton of respect for decisions and maturity like this in a hunter. My father and I have done the same thing for one another. Loved this episode!
The agony of defeat always make the best Hunting and Fishing stories ;)
Great video. You lean on Danny like I lean on my brother John! If anyone viewing doubts Steve's description of the horrors of devil's club and alder brush while mountain climbing, I invite you to try some of the mountains on the Tracy Arm south of Juneau! Thank you John for some great misery and great memories!
Your parents raised you well, Steven and Danny!
I love to see you together and so heartwarming to know that there are ethical hunters like you, obeying the rules.

He's such a good example of hunting and the same time conserverving priced animal's. Great job men.
I really appreciate that the hunt doesn't have to be successful to make for a good episode. This was excellent regardless. Love it.
Appreciate all the tracking and stalking he documents. Makes ya more invested and appreciative of what he goes through. 16:55 he’s definitely excitedly hoping it’s a Billy but really has no clue lol.
Thanks for the memories of my hike with my brother up Moose mountain. We took a very similar route in the early 70s, but we went on the other side of the rock ridge going up and through the swale to the right before the alpine. We also saw a large golden eagle standing the ground that stood over 3 feet as he surveyed the valley to the left (north). When the snow is mostly gone it’s quite beautiful up in the alpine zones. Thanks for leaving the nanny. I’ve probably seen her a few times.
No doubt one of the hardest hunts you could ever do. That alder and devil's club is no joke....pure hell.
Thank you so much for putting season 1 on UA-cam!!
Love this story, my cousin drew a goat tag in NW Montana a couple years ago and we ended up only having 2 days to hunt. We were a little more lucky and located a billy the first evening but off the other side of the mountain. Dropped down and climbed up to him in the morning and got him killed and then packed him back up and over and got out a few hours after dark. Coolest hunt ever.
I like this Cause he’s not like the other tv hunters he doesn’t need a kill for a successful hunt and takes 100s of sponsorship just a genuine guy being a good hunter
My 2 hunting buddies and I all put in for a Bison draw
Musk Ox
Mt. Goat
Dall sheep
A whitefish spearfishing draw
And an easy moose hunt draw
Fingers crossed on the draws!!! It'll be a good season regardless. With no draws we are still looking at a King salmon trip in early summer, harvest morels I early summer, coho in the fall(with halibut and maybe crabbing) and a caribou hunt. Maybe even get time for dipnetting some sockeye when they run between early summer to fall. Lingonberries and Blueberries right around the silver run. Born and raised Alaskan and it never gets old. Alaska is such a great state!!!
I’ll watch every one of these older videos! Love me some Meateater!! Keep em coming!
Hunting mountain goats is no joke...respect!
I have been hunting goats for a few years now, I haven’t taken a billy yet but have passed on many nannies. I refuse to take a nanny

Ah yes, the devils club and downhill tangled alders. Gotta love them 👍
I remember always looking up at those mountains as a kid while my dad had his line in the Russian. Now I'm happy I didn't walk away up one at 8...
This makes me remember going food hunting with the x brother in-law, I ended up shooting 3 Billy's all I one spot, was told they never see Billy's in that area, was told I can't go with them anymore. Lol
