I have several baby bull shads, love those guys. I also have the SWaver 168 and 120, and I like the savage gear pulse tails and the glide baits too. Bout to order me a rat!
Good stuff man. Those Savage Gear are nice for the price. I hadn't paid attention to them so I just spent the past 20 minutes looking at all the new awesomeness they came out with. I would also like to add to your list and say not to sleep on the Matt Lures gill and shad baits. Legit awesome and reasonably priced.
I use a lot of Savage Gear products and I like their Carbon 39 wire. If this is used for the stingers I can tell you it will easily hold up to bass fishing. The wire is very kink resistant and I use it as a leader for Pike fishing
5:01 i found that the magslowl works best when fished slow. because of its slimmer tail, it doesn't take much movement for it to kick, hence, a slow retrieve would work too.
Obviously late to the party but this a great video. You don't have to spend a fortune to throw some 2-3 oz baits. There's zero trout in Tx lakes I fish. Is the Hudleston trout style bait even effective in cooler water ??
Most are great baits for sure not a big savage gear guy and baitsanity never again all the problems I had with those baits not the antidodote but the explorers the tails would snap off great cust serv though they sent me 4 new baits but all broke but the 1 I havent fished it just cuz i know it will break guess they changed the tail but Ill pass love them bbz1 50s for sure you know you can crank them down a foot or so burn and pause they get bit more subsurface than on top Great Video Brother!!!! Cheers!! :))
There is also a 5 inch version of the Mag Draft that is just shy of an ounce and it's perfect for people who haven't bought a swimbait rod yet and just want to try it out. The Mag Slowl is also affordable and a manageable size for beginners. Also, I'm sure I'll get razzed for this, but the Googan Contender Jr is not bad either. You'll want to add some suspendots to it, and you can't change out the trebles due to the design, but it 100% will catch fish and big ones. Not very popular, I don't think, and you can get them for dirt cheap in bundles from Karls. I think I pad $23 for 4 of them.
I use the Ima Scarecrow 130 S it's made for Sea bass but the Pikes don't care and Savage Gear is really popular in Europe, the baits are Cheap and catch a lot off fish
What would you throw through super heavy current? A local species (shoal bass) sets up in the middle of ridiculously fast channels of current. They are kind of nuts, tolerant to fastest current of any bass species as I hear it. They go for big baits super well. Wondering what you think might work best in fast current. Thanks!
If you say Arashi is great in swim, you are amater. I mean it does have one great aspect but it's mechanical-looking and they take in water. Ask me how I know it takes in water?
I’ve literally seen my buddy out fish me with one of those one day when I was fishing the HPH, I was a believer after that. It has such a nice glide to it
I’ve fished one of my buddies before, it’s actually a cool bait, you just have to fish it like a jerkbait. It doesn’t have a true side to side glide like a 250 so it’s different and can get some extra bites
Depends on how long I’ve been fishing the hooks and whether I have caught fish with them or just plain snagged rocks and other things to dull them out. I normally just look at them, compare them to a new one and test the sharpness with my finger, just how much pressure does it take to feel like the hook can penetrate
Why do the bigger baits attract The bigger bites. It makes perfect sense in most basic cases but when it comes to 7 vs 9 Inches. Is there really that much difference to the fish? And why?
There also aren't fish that look like chatter baits or spinner baits. Or have pink and chartreuse and other wild colors. Doesn't mean it won't get bit. In fact, do a search and you'll see tons of cast to catch footage of S swimming baits. Realism isn't the only thing that works
I always go with quality over quantity. Rather have 1 good bait with good quality materials/paint job than 5 baits that may or may not be made or painted as well. My own preference. Not saying you gotta buy $200-$300 baits but a good bait that’s $100+ are good to start. SU forum has people give baits for free time to time to new swimbaiters or younger people(kids)who can’t go out and fish/buy stuff for fishing.
"There's a lot of rats out there" Geoffrey the KING
For its size, the antidote glide has an unbelievable drawing power. Definitely one of go to’s as of recently
"Another killer upload brother, I throw most of those baits and I can confirm they get bit,Tight Lines"
Great video! Don’t forget about that Sneaky Pete!
I’ve only ever heard good things about those sneaky Pete’s!
🔥🔥 absolutely nailed it my man once again 💪👊
Thanks Ken! Appreciate the view as always!

Nice dude! Those are a great group of baits to have! That rat will for sure surprise you!
Gr8t Video my brother a lot of good info. Keep up the good work !! God Bless !!

Yes dude! Mattlures baits are awesome, they do tear up pretty bad though but they down right get bit!

Yessir! I got my PB on the SPRO rat. Too bad they're unobtanium right now. I've been on the wait list for months.
There’s also a Gigantarel that’s one size up from the Gantarel
6th Sense Speed Glide bait...worth its money

I think Savage gear purposely design the tail to be a bit stiffer than the Hud to increase the head movement of the lure
Great content, much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for watching Matt! Appreciate it! 🤙
what's your thoughts on the PB glide bait
Quality content Mr.Jeff🤙🏻
Thanks my dude for watching! 🙏
top 15 BIG swimbaits for beginners. Then you see the baby bull shad... still a great lure though. It got me interested in bigger swimbaits
Dude, how heavy baits do you throw with your zillion 1520 hd? I'm just getting one!!
So - 3 years later what are your entry level recommendations ?
I'm fishing the 13 Glidesdale with success , $20 !
I just ordered one myself
@@RyanSmith-fb8rf I changed the hooks to mustad kvd extra short 1/0 trebles..the hooks that come on it are garbage.
Great video thx Jeff!!
Thanks for watching big dog! 🙏
What do you think about the 13 fishing BAMF shad..
I use the Ima Scarecrow 130 S it's made for Sea bass but the Pikes don't care and Savage Gear is really popular in Europe, the baits are Cheap and catch a lot off fish
I’m gonna have to check out that scarecrow!
You must hurry up it's out of produktion, the size are 7,5cm,10cm,13cm in floating and thinking

Berkeley Magic Swimmer maybe? I can burn them in pretty quick and they swim well. I like the 95-125 mm sizes
Good shit!
Thanks for watching homie! 🤙
Let’s go another vid
Thanks for watching brother!
@@crazybassfisher no problem thanks for teaching me how to swimbait fish
If you say Arashi is great in swim, you are amater. I mean it does have one great aspect but it's mechanical-looking and they take in water. Ask me how I know it takes in water?
Savage gear shine glides are awesome
I’ve literally seen my buddy out fish me with one of those one day when I was fishing the HPH, I was a believer after that. It has such a nice glide to it
Great video this will help a lot of beginners that want to start swimbait fishing
That was the idea for sure! Thanks for watching my dude!
Amazing video! Highly recommend the mag draft 10 inch. Caught some giants on those in the fall.
Hell yeah dude! That 10” is super underrated for catching big ones!
@@crazybassfisher that’s what I used! I throw that bait on my extra heavy 8’ with a shimano cardiff. Perfect budget setup👌🏽👌🏽
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! 🔥
Not beginner swimbaits more like the family man/working mans swimbaits. Been wanting a DRT Tiny Klash and a klash 9 but I can’t pay EBay prices.
*Awesome Awesome presentation Hook Up & Geoff. I have those IMA's and they swim just like a jerkbait on steroids.*
Those IMAs are legit dude!
Nice!
What do you think about the Islide 262 have you tried it?
I’ve fished one of my buddies before, it’s actually a cool bait, you just have to fish it like a jerkbait. It doesn’t have a true side to side glide like a 250 so it’s different and can get some extra bites
What is your test or measure of a sticky sharp hook? How do you know when to switch out stock hooks?
change hooks right out of box always upgrade all hardware
Depends on how long I’ve been fishing the hooks and whether I have caught fish with them or just plain snagged rocks and other things to dull them out. I normally just look at them, compare them to a new one and test the sharpness with my finger, just how much pressure does it take to feel like the hook can penetrate

What size rod should be used with the mag draft
Mantab yes keren ok 👍👍👍👍 good information
Thanks for watching 🙏🤙
Thank you
Thank you for watching 🤙
You should include footage of them in the tank
If I owned some of the other baits, I definitely would of, don’t want to ruin any baits that I don’t plan on buying.
blew up the magdraft and now you're gonna blow up the magslowl, keep em hush hush lol. Keep up the great videos, definitely good info for the new guys
Haha I still think people are afraid of that 10” mag which works out for the rest of the guys that love throwing it!
But fish don’t swim in an s motion. They swim straight with their tails moving. The pulse tails are more realistic
There also aren't fish that look like chatter baits or spinner baits. Or have pink and chartreuse and other wild colors. Doesn't mean it won't get bit. In fact, do a search and you'll see tons of cast to catch footage of S swimming baits. Realism isn't the only thing that works
I just lost a mag swol on a 9 lbr he broke me on a ridge
Holy crap dude! That’s actually insane! Go back and try and see if there were other big ones with her!
@@crazybassfisher I will!
Great vid.. my wife is going to be upset with you.
Are we not gonna talk about the size of his hands😂
Haha I’ve got big hands for my size. Played a lot of basketball growing up

Swaver 200 > Deps 250 hands down if you think I’m wrong reply
Depends on the situation
Reply
You could definitely make some arguments on it for sure... but the 250 will always be the best glide bait ever made
Swimbaits are overrated.
((The Cheater ))Swimbait is great for a beginner
