Hey Jag! I just wanted to say I recently discovered your videos here and I absolutely LOVE them! They're so well put together and I just love your passion for gardening. Thank you for igniting mine! I look forward to more videos! Take care, good man! 😃
You have been blessed with an amazing talent to grow up the most beautiful plants ... I really enjoy your work and the bounty of. Thanks again for sharing your gifts of harvesting,my friend ~
Shadow's against the wind, good morning. I wend to your house and there were 6 people there I am the 7th. No 1 opened the door when I rang the bell, please ring my bell back, thanks
My favorite thing is to eat the greens! I also add shredded turnips to my sauerkraut. I fine it adds depth of texture and flavor to home fermented Kraut. Here were I live, many people keep a permanent turnip bed for the greens. Occasionally we will dig up the huge and woody turnips. Those can have the outer part peeled and shredded off the wooden center. That is what I use to make kraut along with some cabbage.
Best mashed potatoes you will ever have is add one turnip four each 5 of the same size of potatoes. Mash the cooked potatoes and turnip the same way. Add just enough heavy cream to get the mash to your desired consistency. Salt to taste and you're welcome.
So true many people still think turnips are "poor people food"! Go figure! LOL 😂 I love turnips but specially the greens. Definitely among my favorites! I've been trying to get some turnip seeds. For the life of me, I can't get them anywhere in this country!! I really don't understand yesterday went to one of the largest stores in here. Some 15 to 20 varieties of radish and parsnips, etc. Not a single envelope of turnips! WTH!
crpth1 ... me too! WTH!!! So I purchased a basket of “past their prime” turnips at a farmers market and just planted them! I’m growing them just for the greens and so far so awesome!
Wow this is such a good yield🤩🤩🤩 I think I need to get bigger pots, my 11 inch pots are definitely not cutting it 😛 Thanks for the inspiration, as always !
Beautiful looking turnips, the greens are sting flavored but very healthy. I can’t wait to grow my turnips. You can give turnips a haircut so you get an extra harvest or two before harvest.
A suggestion, Jack. When you show us how to plant, maybe you should say seeds need to be watered. It may seem obvious but I bet some people don't know it. I love your videos and your great smile. Will soon be time to start gardening in northern Wisconsin.
THANK YOU for the berm idea. I'm still going to break up my medium clay soil with a large garden fork and I have compost with manure for the hills. 👍. Idaho, 7a. Love your channel and am subbed.
Turnips are one of the few food crops in which you can eat the entire plant. Very efficient. You can also eat them at all stages of growth, so that, in most places with succession planting you can essentially eat them year-round. A great backyard (back-up) food supply. Or in containers, as in All My Secrets of Organic and Container Gardening So Far.
I love all your videos you're so nice and friendly. The turnips are beautiful, I could really eat a big bowl of turnips right now! I love the turnip greens too. Always a pleasure to watch you. God bless you real good ✝️🌿🌽🥕🌿🍅🌱🌻💚Here's my garden for you 🤗
3.03 growing from seed ...?is what I came for,can u enlighten me. If my supermarket bought turnip go to seed can I plant from them or would they not have quality
You can also peel turnips, cut them in slices, and season them raw with balsamic vinegar and salt (or just salt and pepper) as a really yummy and filling snack!! It was my favorite snack growing up!! They're also delicious in salad!
If you are in northern hemisphere, in May, you can plant these ua-cam.com/video/fyr8o-w8ECk/v-deo.html if you are in southern hemisphere, you can plant the ones i mentioned in Fall video.
The sound it's way too loud on the beginning of your video, then when you speak we can't barely hear you because the music isn't balanced....people actually don't care about the music at all. Otherwise good job.

Turnips are highly underrated. As are parsnips.
Wendy Muir yes, but with parsnips I get it, they take forever to grow.

Great video!!
It does :)
I'm dying for some fresh turnip greens. It's 13 days before August. I'm getting started now.
If you get maggots in spring crops, plan on a fall crop. The flys that lay the eggs that produce the maggots won't be around in fall.
Watch you video now. So thank you for sharing your garden tips. Am going restart my garden this weekend.
Love your canal ❤ turnips is just what i growing in my garden now😎

That's good eating LoL 😊😊😊
I like turnips so I searched it up
Nice, thank you!
I didn’t know they were that large... my poor garden is gonna burst at the seams 😂
Turnips can grow to at least 8 inches in diameter.
Can you harvest turnip greens before the turnips?
You can harvest few leaves, not a lot
My turnip plants are tall and healthy but no turnips. Some plants have started flowering now. Can you tell me what wrong I have done.
Makes me think about super Mario 2
The climate in Hong Kong is relatively humid and hot. What's the best time to plant seeds?
Hey Jag, happy holi!!
Happy Holi Sonal!!
can we grow turnip in pot?
They're so beautiful. I need good recipes for turnips, because the ones I grew up with were ATROCIOUS.
Michael Duvic chicken soup. The astringent peppery flavor balances out the sweet sugar in the carrots leaving you with a savory soup.
You can also peel turnips, cut them in slices, and season them raw with balsamic vinegar and salt (or just salt and pepper) as a really yummy and filling snack!! It was my favorite snack growing up!! They're also delicious in salad!
@@lorenrenee1 that is a great idea.. thank you!

Check out turnips with beef recipe Pakistani dish...amazing....
Any suggestions on keeping mice out of your garden. Thanks
Keep predators in, cats, dog. owl, hawk, crow, snake... Traps can also be efficient. Whatever the case do not use poison! ;-)
Don't fall off the turnip truck
How many harvests can you get from red potatoes? Only once a year?
Oh turnip it up
Niceeeee 👍👍🌱🌱😍😍
do you eat the turnip greens as well?
You can however they are a little prickly, not my favorite, i love beet greens and carrot greens.
Turnip should be directly sowed or should be transferred
Directly sowed. All root vegetables should be directly sowed.
Do you grow Tokyo turnips (sweet baby) the same way
All turnips grow same ways😊
Vladimir:. How's the carrot?
what if i plant them in pots? that would be stupid wouldn't it?
