There’s actually a 1967 documentary about a small boy who was raised by a she-wolf. Even though some in the pack didn’t want him there she defended him until he could no longer stay. that story of the lioness always makes me so sad. if the behavior of the lioness is a result of previous trauma, i can only imagine how she must have felt attempting to raise oryx calves only to still lose them in the end ☹️
The duck wanted to make his mom happy and was willing to sacrifice itself for Tom’s dinner. Tom couldn’t go through with it, though. They lived happily ever after... or until Tom came to his senses and remembered, ‘I’m still hungry’. Duck a la Tom!
The cat/kittens clearly imprinted on the ducklings. When birds hatch they tend to "imprint" on the first thing they see, i.e they observed kittens latching/feeding, assumed cat was mum and they were kittens, and thus copied the behaviour. The cat being full of "mummy autopilot" hormones, accepted the extras in her litter as her own and that resulted in this wonderful yet bizarre 1 in a million chance bond 😌🥰❤ Just lovely!

What I always take from these kind of stories, is that mother nature has her plans in place for such situations. When the normal progression on any animal is disrupted, mother nature surprises us with this kind and unusual action and saves maybe just one life. Truly amazing.

You can feel how proud the cat was when the ducklings became ducks
And see the sadness in the lioness’s eyes when her “ child “ dies.
I bet the ducklings gonna meow when they grow up.
XD LOL
I bet those kittens will learn duck
Since cats learn how to "speak" to humans I'd guess they will start sounding like ducks
Meouack
I bet 100$ they wont. Deal?
True to that " Mothering instinct within animals can transcend species".
Imagine all people on earth being as loving and caring as this cat mommy.
That would be amazing! Honestly
Need to inject some mothering hormones into human bodies. Perhaps we can fake it as another COVID booster?
Funny joke
I am pretty sure Humans are no exception to this Instinct.
It's just that all People on earth are not Freshly Pregnant Mother's, and neither are all Cats....
Wait till you see what a cat mommy does to other baby animals to feed her own :)

Inflameddrip 180 I know. But it has nothing to do with this
You are both either extremely stupid or very young if you think Harambe was a 1986 gorilla. wish parents would monitor children online far too much of them posting nonsense then other kids agreeing with that nonsense.
1986 was 33 years ago Harambe incident was 2016 a mere 3 years ago the difference between 1986 and 2016 is 30 years. To put that in perspective you 2 clowns are agreeing with each others incorrect statement that is wrong by a colossal 3 decades or 10095 days.

A duck tried to eat a cat but ended up adopting the cat
@ yup
The cat/kittens clearly imprinted on the ducklings. When birds hatch they tend to "imprint" on the first thing they see, i.e they observed kittens latching/feeding, assumed cat was mum and they were kittens, and thus copied the behaviour. The cat being full of "mummy autopilot" hormones, accepted the extras in her litter as her own and that resulted in this wonderful yet bizarre 1 in a million chance bond 😌🥰❤ Just lovely!

@@lovelyhope2664 but she also said it didn’t last as long as the first one
the calf would not have survived since it couldn't be fed, nature took care of it.
What I always take from these kind of stories, is that mother nature has her plans in place for such situations. When the normal progression on any animal is disrupted, mother nature surprises us with this kind and unusual action and saves maybe just one life. Truly amazing.

Too cute! There's something so special about these bonds. My daughter and cat are like this, like our cat thinks my daughter is her baby. She guards her bedroom door at night and I have even seen the cat climb the bunk bed ladders to be with her. Animals can be such a blessing

Yes, but also, keep in mind that the lioness found 5 more calves to care for. Nature is a source of tough love, no sentimentality or sugaring the facts of life and death, both sides of the same hand.
