I'm dialling in a 96" on my mill to perform this job. Had no problem with the rear cylinder but am getting about 4 thousandths difference along the x-axis on the front cylinder. Y axis is able to get it to pretty much zero. Is this normal / any advice?
How is that one piston is bigger than another and how much is different , and where does the small piston and it's cylinder go .. forward or back .. this is a surprise to me that different in pistons , .. I have a TC - 2001/88 , and i have some SRC EAGLE with dome for SCR EGL heads and i don't want to spend SRM EGL head$ . and a friend with machine shop makes them flat , it's ok and can run them in my stock heads ??? .. the pistons are 3,7/8 .......... cheers
most all parts vary in size somewhat. i am picky so i match things up when i can. these pistons were .0004 different in size. when your recommended clearance is .0007-.0025 and i wanted .00125 the .0004 makes a difference. if you didn't care than you could have just shot for the middle and left it at that. that is not me. tatro
Like how methodical you are.
Looks like a valentine's motor.
