I am not experienced in using different rods. I fish off a beach or pier, using cut shrimp, cut bait, live minnow or shrimp type bait etc.
i also have a friend with a boat that we can go fishing our on the ocean. i am not sure if i should go medium or medium heavy, and not sure what length i should do. I typically will use the one rod every day so i'd like something universal and durable just in case i hook a large shark or stingray on accident. I've used a fenwick hmg inshore medium-fast rod for two years and it finally broke. I loved that rod but would like to try this rod...
