    I’d say the only tamer skill required are the two defensive ones and the ones that increase your ability learning and xp. Beyond that everything else is whatever you would prefer. Some are more beneficial than others for sure, but a majority aren’t really that impressive. Long life is nice but if you don’t have the dojo to level 2 and can’t pick the digimon you want. You might get stuck with two digimon for longer than they’re welcome. I’d recommend long life after getting that ability so you can use your preferred digimon. Again. Everything else is based on your preferences.

      Everyone does have their own different way of approaching it. I am impressed how many people still use the gym instead of combat training so each has their own priorities. Outside of those four you listed the only one I HAVE to get early is free HP while walking. Saves so much early on.

    That was an interesting watch. Makes me want to replay the game now optimally. I didn't find out for a long time that the gym isn't the way to go. Would definitely make some different choices next time. Thanks!

      There are plenty of people who love the gym and use it late game with the restaurant to just hang out in town, but I've never really enjoyed or used that method. I personally always use the battle training method with a whole video about it for people who want to learn more. These games are interesting in that it allows you to approach them in many different ways.

    Definitely helpful. I don't like how the game doesn't tell you exactly how much % wise things work. Like the stats being passed down sounds amazing but to see it being only 1% feels like a luxury then vs mandatory. I understand devs don't want people to min/max exactly, but games like this kind of make you do it haha.

    • @Rordrik
      @Rordrik  10 місяців тому

      It is odd they don't tell you the details, but at least we have come a long way since Digimon World 1 where everything was obscure and confusing. If you want to get anything done you have to train well or else all that time gets wasted with no progress and have to start again with a new generation.

  • @Rordrik

    While it is true that Digimon games have issues with translations this one is one of them that is fairly clear in what it does.
    First I don't believe the game ever mentions stats, they always call them parameters. Just as gamers we tend to call them stats because that is what we are used to.
    Second It is the first time they Digivolve into a given form. If you somehow completed the field guide before getting this ability then yes it would be useless, but I have no idea how you would accomplish that so fast. The field guide tells you which forms you've done before, though it is true it does not tell you which partner got it.
    Third I do not speak Japanese so I cannot tell you what it says and Digimon has had several times of mistranslations in the past. So we have to go with what it says until proven otherwise.
    Fourth if you cannot trust the game nothing I say is going to convince you otherwise.
    There is a reason there is a skill for increases parameters for all Digivolutions that is different from first time Digivolutions. The first one applies any time they Digivolve no matter what, but the boost is greater if it is their first time being in that form.

  • @Deoxys_Used_Mimic
    @Deoxys_Used_Mimic 2 роки тому +4

    Trying to comprehend Fresh Digivolution is a goddamn *schizo nightmare* for me.
    “Parameters rise when partners Digivolve into a Digimon for the first time.”
    Okay. So…
    - First: What does it mean by ‘Parameters?’ Parameters *for WHAT!?*
    =>Does it mean *stats?* Why doesn’t it just say ‘stats?’
    - Second: What does it mean by ‘first time?”
    => Does it mean ‘their VERY FIRST Digivolution?’ Well that’s useless, as you can’t get it before the Baby’s Digivolve into In-Training.
    => Does it mean ‘the first time they Digivolve into EACH Digivolution?’ So like… if you get them all before grabbing the ability, it’s a complete waste then. You *need* to get it *as early as possible?*
    => Does it mean ‘the first time they Digivolve into each Digivolution AFTER obtaining the skill?’ I goddamn *hope so,* but how are we even supposed to track that???
    Third: If it’s a lost-in-translation problem, what does the Original Japanese say?
    => …and it’s not like Japanese is a language that has words for every English word available, so if someone tried to properly translate it for me… there’s no guarantee it would be a 1:1 translation, so I’d still not be getting all the information unless I understood Japanese… *which I DON’T.*
    Fourth: There’s not even a guarantee that the goddamn skill even *does* what it *says it does.*
    => What if it’s not programmed right?
    => What if there’s a bug in the code that causes a weird interaction with other skills?
    => *How am I supposed to know all this sh*t?*
    Do you get it now? This is bullsh*t.
    If I can’t even trust my own language, the translation, or even the Code itself… WHAT. THE. F*CK?
    Also.
    There’s a skill right above it that JUST says: “Parameters rise when partners Digivolve.”
    *Do you now understand* why the other one is so hard to comprehend, including the logic of even HAVING such a thing in the game while *this* one exists?
    I… can’t… even.
    This.
    This is everyday for me when people aren’t *specific enough.*
    This is my LIFE.
    This is the Hell I live in every day.

    Just got the game last night and started playing this morning. Even after watching this, I'm still stuck on not being sure on which to choose which one to prioritize first.
    Currently, I got my first two Ultimates (MegaKabuterimon and BlueMeramon), but their stats are horribly weak.

    • @Rordrik
      @Rordrik  Рік тому +3

      When I did my newest playthrough on stream the very first skills I chose was the Defend skill followed by the HP recovery in Health Runner. Then I took the two early skills for life, if that helps to give you an idea of my thoughts as I went through. The first generation is always tough, even when I came back to try again. I only got to ultimate and their stats were too low so I had to wait for the next gen to make progress.

    • @arkavalon5347
      @arkavalon5347 Рік тому +1

      @@Rordrik I know what you mean by "LOW." It just feels like the stats from DW1 standard were good, but the issue is the limit of each of these stats being raised by one digit more, so what seemed to be a "good" back then, is now "Piss poor."
      I ended up putting it all over the place, like the two early skills for LIFE, Battle XP, and the like. I was able to get the Defense Order, and HP Walk skill. If I had more, I'd put them for Inventory since I'm always feeling full of stuff.

    • @Rordrik
      @Rordrik  Рік тому +1

      @@arkavalon5347 Yeah I'm not sure why they made the gym so weak for gaining stats. I guess they thought battles were more engaging, but with so little control that can be hard to make feel rewarding.
      You seem to have the same idea for skills I grab, though usually I only do 1 rank in inventory for a while. After the first big ones mostly I go for anything to make battles and item/BIT gain easier.

    • @arkavalon5347
      @arkavalon5347 Рік тому

      @@Rordrik Maybe because it pretty much was a point to camp out and hit the gym for stat gains back then, and people were complaining about not having the resources to even care for one. Now, they up the ante and gave us TWO.
      I still haven't bought the 1st expansion for the inventory yet. Also, I still need practice in finding the right timing for defending, so there were times I had to reset (Like when I got KO'ed by that Kabuterimon with that Rock move, and sad that I wasn't able to learn it either). My other options are to get the 2nd stage for the rebirth skill, inventory. drop buff. the stat buff for subsequent digivolutions, or the last skill for the Walker type.

    Digivolve life bonus value is 1 extra day life per digivolve and the paired skill natural life bonus is also 1 life. How do i know this? Bcs my first pair in mega form where i hadnt have those 2 tamer skills only lived until 16th day, but the next pair with those 2 tamer skills made my mega form lived up until 21st day

    • @Rordrik
      @Rordrik  Рік тому

      That sounds like it would make sense. So are you assuming it only counts Digivolving to Rookie, Champion, Ultimate, and Mega then? That would ignore the in training stages plus the one day from the base to make the 5 day difference.

    • @danarthur771
      @danarthur771 Рік тому +2

      @@Rordrik yes, training is a big waste of lifespan. once they're in rookie state, theyr better to fight stronger digis. but if you want to start this trick you need ur rookies to have atleast 200 sta and str. and also dont bother wasting trainer skill point for training bonus effects, instead aim the trio fighting bonus and skill learning rate

    hey Rordik, the fatigue teacher type, since I didn't find the exact numbers after migrating to a new laptop and losing half my stuff because Norton said f-u on those and forced a delete on some files, I'll summaries, basically Fatigue Care ensures one more battle before fatigue gets too much, not so useful later on when you are in the hundreds at baby level, but early on, might be enough to get a little more Stat exp before returning to Floatia...
    Also bad mood, it has Digimon not listen occasionally so say you order a Blue Greymon and Black Weregarurumon to use their joint skill and Blue Greymon is in a bad mood, it is 50/50 chance they use up the order points and do nothing... so Mood is something to keep in mind...

    • @Rordrik
      @Rordrik  Рік тому

      Thank you it is good to get some more numbers on this. I do remember Fatigue Care doing a little for fighting, so being able to do more is awesome.
      I guess my Digimon are just always in a good mood because I don't remember having them not listen to me before. Though if you are going for Trainer Failures or such that could be far more common.

    just spend 10000 to reset skills to get the fishing skill and digivolve skills when you need them. No need to put pionts in them otherwise. The same goes with training skills. Most of the time you don't train.
