I haven't seen them live since just after Relentless Mutation dropped, so this was a treat to find! Thank you for the excellent recording! Also, hooooly shit A Dark Horizontal is so tight live...
This show was the day after I completely threw my neck out while headbanging on stage. The problem was, we also had paid someone to film the set, so I was forced to attempt to appear normal, however I may just look like an old man in this video.
Hey look it's Dean! I'll always film your guys' sets when you come to Chicago. If you ever want any of this footage for anything I'd be happy to send it over. For what it's worth, I thought your headbanging looked just fine.

Yes they are very very good live.. Origin is another amazingly brutal band to see live. I’ve seen them 7 times since 2001 and there Drummer John L. shows absolutely no emotion of expression on his face while playing. It’s like he isn’t human. I know it’s due to concentration and focus though. Him and Spencer P. From Archspire are amazing drummers.

The "clam clap" is a really smart way to get the audience to not clap loudly way off time with the backing click potentially throwing the band off, lol
Formidable Frank thank you so much for posting Archspires live set at Reggie's Rock House I was supposed to go but just couldn't make it but thanks to you I don't have to ask my buddy how the show was, the video was clear the audio is clean good job formidable Frank, I was there last week for jungle rot, origin, deicide next time I'm up there I'll look you up hopefully you'll be there again great job on the video man really appreciate it turns out I didn't miss it after all
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend, I'm glad you were able to enjoy the set. I've only seen Archspire twice now (first time at Cobra Lounge) and I was a little bummed that I brought my camera with me that first time and filmed the show instead of *not* filming and just enjoying the show. However, that first video received so much love and "thank you's" that I knew I had to bring my camera again to film Archspire playing Relentless Mutation in its entirety. Your kind words essentially *made* *me* film that set and you didn't even know it, so thanks again for the kind words 🤘🏻
These guys blew my mind when I saw them in London a few years back with Revocation and Rivers of Nihil. So freekin tight!! I think these would be a great support of Meshuggah
I’ve always loved metal but never death metal. Slowly I’ve been getting more and more interested. I discovered neceophagist and now these guys. Had to look up a video just to see what these guys look like and if they are a normal real band, because I can’t accept that a normal real band can play music like this. These guys are beyond normal. I’ve listened to some gnarly jazz fusion and prog rock where I wonder how do you write that, memorize it and perform it, but this takes the cake. It’s not human.
Couldn't have said it better myself, satan. It's worth mentioning that they're consistent as well. Just non-stop rapid-fire awesomeness that's clutch as fuck during every live show. We're lucky that we get to live in a time with musicians as talented as these guys

These guys are easily one of the most impressive metal bands around. I know Dean always lavishes tons of praise on a lot of his/their contemporaries on his learning videos. But Archspire captures so much more than a lot of bands, with their music. They manage to sound insanely technical, while still sounding absolutely brutal...and the music remains catchy and melodic, and LISTENABLE. I never get bored, or tired of listening to their albums. They are not "hard" to listen to, like so many other bands that try to show off their chops and wind up sounding repetitive or pretentious. Amazing writing, and just rock fucking solid song compositions. These guys really are a cut above the vast majority of all their peers. I legitimately think they are one of the best tech metal bands, ever, as well as one of the best metal bands, ever.
Cheers my friend! Hopefully the rig wasn't too annoying for you. I always hate the fuck that stands near the front filming with their cell phone and not enjoying the show. I know this isn't _too_ much different, but it's a totally different thing. What an awesome show tho. Love Reggie's.
