Thank you for your advice. I’m new to the GoPro world. I have a Hero 10 with the media mod and the Volta. I use it to film my sons’ baseball games. I don’t think I’m using my setup to its full potential. I have some over heating issues at times and we are getting close to the hottest season. Anyway I’m excited for your video on the Volta. I have to reconnect it all the time to use the buttons on the Volta. I know I’m doing something wrong.
Using the Volta: Yes the Volta can control the camera and supply power (with media mode), Only if Blue Tooth paired, Not just Wired only. I found a problem when using Scheduled Record time-When the camera wakes up and starts to record, it will not trigger the Volta to supply power-which is noted by no red led on the Volta showing recording on. Removing media mode and then using scheduled recording time works fine.
I have been using gopro 7 but just got gopro11 with media mod and volta. I have always edited my images with paintshop pro so when I got gopro 7 I started using video studio to edit my videos. However when I use the media mod the video can not be edited. It sounds like it is overloading computer memory. I think I would rather switch cameras than video editors but I wish I could get the benefits of the media mod
Does the hero 8 media mod offer power pass through without a battery? I’m looking to power it with an external battery.
I use my GoPro 7 & 10…I’ve got the Media Mod on the 10...to motovlog on my motorcycle. Forgetting the poor power battery life (yes, the Enduro for the 10 is an improvement, but...) for a moment, I’m really satisfied with my setup. Took some time & tweaking but it works for me.

The light mod would of filled in the shadows on your face from wearing the cap.
I really wish GoPro would make a cage with a battery that extends the life 2-3x

I don't know why so many Gopro-UA-camrs that are not so sporty always run in the woods with the camera (you are not alone)- I hate it cause you all are always a little out of breath and that's why you always stretch out the sentences so long, then you have to breathe deeply again, then speak briefly, breathe deeply again. Either you all go to the gym and come out with increased lung volume in 3 months or you stop if it absolutely has to be a forest where you start talking. When I look at your video, I have to realize that the forest makes no sense at all. why are you there? Go home and talk with calm breath. I couldn't listen to you after 4 Minutes anymore. It was annoying. And then- you make the funniest mistake of all video-mistakes: wearing a cap that shades your eyes. wow! Perhaps you should have take the light mod additionally?! And then the GoPro is not made for things like the media mod. HaHA- who built the GoPro and who built the media-mod? The same company. I believe them more than you. Sorry
