Reminds me of being in the military where looking and feeling smart and neat carried over into everything you did.
In this lockdown I have been watching DIY projects videos. The attitude for finishing and precision is beyond compare. The ingenious methods of making the task look like a cakewalk is commendable. I am a doctor and can appreciate the way you work like a plastic surgeon you have amazed me so much with your skills that I have decided to start woodworking as a hobby. I live in India where carpenters are available for very low wages but most of them do not have this need to achieve such accuracy and finesse in finishing. You truly are exemplary.
That workshop could be used for an operating theatre it's that clean and tidy and the precision to which you work really satisfies my ocd 😂. Great job 👍
You have to love the section of rail painted blue by the grinder in the background!!!!!😄😄😄😄😄😄😄 This guy must be a railfan!! Or for our friends in the UK and other places, trainspotting!!👍
These are great videos even if you have no intention of making whatever is demonstrated. There really is a lot to be said for silently observing a method of work.
I just watched this for first time and, as usual, very impressive. One thought -- make a few without the screw, round off and smooth the interior edges of the top and you have a great tool for picking up and carrying sheet goods.
You are creative and your work is elegant and clean. I enjoy watching your video. I will benefit too. Congratulations! Keep going on this line. Followers from Saudi Arabia
This is an excellent idea. Same clamping method works well in securing ropes on boats but not easy (due to the grip being less) when you want to clamp a hard board. I have been testing these for a while and I think the next stage should be to find a shape that will help clamping mortise and tenon joints like securing a table apron to the legs. It will eliminate the need to have long bar clamps. One needs to check what forces will do to the clamp frame but perhaps a strong F clamp shape can be tried. Looking forward to hearing the suggestions. Well done and keep up the good work.

Another excellent video filled with information, techniques and craftsmanship! Gives me the idea that someone could make them thinner using one 3/4” plywood for thickness? I only say that because it’s only edge banding, right? Anyway, the making of these clamps in this video is very much appreciated! Thank you.
Very nice clamps! One thought, is the threaded insert you put on top, would be better served it was if it was put in on the underside of the clamp. The clamping force you apply is always trying to push the insert out of the wood, if you put it on the under side anytime you use the clamp it would be pulling the insert into the wood. My .02 cents worth.
G'day mate, I live in "Australia" from down under mate. Your UA-cam videos are amazing and top quality!!!! I'm just wondering where I can find the plans that you have on your video's??? I work out of my small set up garage, and also out of our Ingenia over 50's lifestyle village, Mens shed and would love to get stuck into some of your awesome projects, to create more work stations in the shed. Many thanks, and keep up the fantastic work for everyone who watches your channel. Iain
Dear Sir, I have seen you use double sided tape countless times and have always wondered how I could get my hands on the tape that you use. What is its brand name and where do you get it from? Cheers.
As long as they're close to that shape and have the rubber on them it will work just fine. The offset hole serves to lock up the clamp as pressure is applied to the foot.
I dunno, the more I look at it, the more I think it's a Golden Spiral. Don't eschew the math behind some of this stuff. That shape I think specifically ensures you land against the object at a tangent relative to the hole. Mathematically.
I hate to be "That Guy", but... This is a great design, but over engineered for the task it was made for. A section of an old piece of bike inner tube and a spring clamp work just as well, and they're easier to store.
Good video--bad in terms of 5 or more separate ad interruptions...simpler u-shaped right angled design would have saved nearly 10 minutes of watching taping and template routing and 2 or 3 ad interruptions..
@@jisakukobo of course you need ads, but it becomes obvious when the video is tedious shots of template routing to get to the length that warrants 5 ad interruptions...I would watch two shorter ones with as many videos, and c'mon, this design is fine, but it's not NASA of COVID-19 vaccine research, and so does not require research and development (R&D) level prototyping.
Why don't you spend the time making a few extra dollars to turn off the ads you hate? Or do you work for free and therefore demand the same from everyone around you? I doubt it very much.
Yep, you are talented! But you only think about money. Nothing is free on your website. You charge for everything. You don’t reply to questions. You don’t comment on materials used, as they were top secret! Soo many questions I have asked... not a single answer - shame! You don’t help anyone, but yourself, selfishly! The woodworking community needs great talent for sure, but as a public figure, you could do much more, and much better. Thanks for your patience in everything. Selfish!!!
I hope you will share my videos with your friends!

Seldom have I learnt so much from a single video. The way you found the center of that dowel was simple and eloquent.
Agreed.
Center-finding jigs for round stock are also very simple and easy to make.. I'm surprised he didn't make one while he was at it.

I doubt it's anything to do with loving trains... most serious makers know that the best cheap anvil is just to use a chunk of railway track.
@@Garryck-1 Maybe!! But it's a cool idea nonetheless!!
So great! I'm making some of these for hardwood edgebanding. Might try to put a spring in the cams for self-grabbing.

Definitely Liked the design and the use of the cams but why is everything you build seem to be so thick?
Stuart Odell Built to last,i expect. And most items will be built to a specific design order.
Well, it's wood and therefore has a limited strength in itself, thus you has to make it thicker/more bulky...
J Rand exactly.
This guys house is made with birchply and double sided tape
Double-sided tape is very comfortable to use
SupeRrrrrrrrrRRRRR !!!!!
Mr. Ima Newb here. Where do you get all of your metal fittings?
Genius! Anyone happen to know how to go about designing the proper curvature for those little pinchers? Or is it just a golden ratio spiral?
As long as they're close to that shape and have the rubber on them it will work just fine. The offset hole serves to lock up the clamp as pressure is applied to the foot.

@@GoatZilla don't let me stop you, by all means, go to town and spiral away.
I feel pretty confident though, if you try it with an offset circle even, it will hold.

But to continue making prototypes, you need advertising.

I'm not doing anything except enabling ads.
