I got my MIDICAKE ARP last night and just could not stop playing with it. Nothing better than setting up 4 arpeggiating synths with ease. Great thought was put into this system. I hope this becomes a top seller. Love it.
This is a great demo of what is possible once you go beyond the concept of what a simple arpeggio is. This video just opens the door to the boundless varieties of patterns the ARP can facilitate. I've been messing around on my ARP for some time now, and am constantly pleased by the beautiful patterns I discover quite by accident.
That's wonderful to hear! I'll do more of these kind of video, so long as you don't mind my waffling. :) I'm struggling to find time to do the scripted tutorial videos at the moment or put enough time into demo tracks. This ad hoc, 1 take format is quicker and I can fit them in among running Midicake and working on the next firmware update. :)
Please don’t talk and show anything more about the Midicake Arp! Can’t fight my GAS anymore. This device seems to be exactly what I was searching for 😩😩😩
Love what you're doing with the device and the videos! I owned a NDLR and used it a lot. Can't wait to try the ARP, it looks more intuitive and fun. Hope to order one of those black sheep in the next few days :) Keep up the great work!
I keep meaning to do a video with NDLR and ARP, using NDLR's Chord mode to trigger ARP is curiously enticing. After the firmware update is finished, though! :)
Excellent! Getting some really good composition here. It would have been a lot better at the Bristol show I suppose, although the background noise there was ridiculous. Inspiring stuff - I have a rarely used Nord Wave 2 which is also 4 part multitimbral. Guess what I am going to be doing today? BTW a list of multi timbral synths would be very useful as this is often a feature that does not get much airtime.
Thanks, John. Bristonica was loud! We measured it at 87db background drone and it was all middle C! 😆 I'd like a list of multi-timbral synths actually. I bought the A1 just for this reason but most others were beyond my budget. Have fun with the Nord.
I think, if that machine would be available directly in continental Europe, say, from Thomann, I would buy one. Though the pattern creation is not quite what I search for - it looks similiar to the DeepMind Arp, which can be a bit painful. I absolutely like the Arp buttons on the Mininova - except there are only 8, and so the Arp has only 8 steps. But otherwise, this little box has currently no competition in its price range. Even with import taxes. Blue Arp DM is not easy to get and twice the price (and size).

Thanks so much for your kind support! I'm so glad you've enjoyed using ARP so far and I wish you many happy hours of music-making. 😊
I’ll be posting some of these videos on some Prophet User Groups and what not. This thing should be a hit!
