If you want to see more about the boat, see the longer in depth videos here: ua-cam.com/video/d1PBdPW1VSs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Zaplethal If this looks familiar to you it's because it's a repost. My old video kept being inaccurately copy right claimed and I needed to reedit it with new music for you all to see. The boats name is maeumi, まえうみ or 前海 which means the begging of the ocean and is a play on my grandmother's last name maekawa まえかわ or 前川 which means the begging of the river
Your dad is absolutely correct when saying “they’ll never ask how long it took, only who built it”. What a gangster, congratulations on a beautiful boat!
how long did it take would literally be the first question i would ask, followed by how much did you spend. As an engineer and project mgr, those items are pretty important haha. Still, projects like this are invaluable experiences. Nothing can ever take away the sense of accomplishment
Another similar saying my general foreman used to say. “Quality will be remembered long after the price is forgotten.” The boat looks sick. Awesome job
I've done a fair bit of restoration (boats and cars) myself. You can be very proud of this project I know how damned hard it is to deal with a wreck and get it top-notch again. For every tiny rotten spot, there will be a big gap after taking the rotten stuff away. Working with fiberglass, filler, and paint isn't easy. So congratulations on the fine result...enjoy! :)
That's a great vision and for a first timer, very well executed. All it takes is a dream to turn into a goal and see it through. Name the boat. A fairy vision. Well done.
The format and style of your videos are perfect. You show enough to be informative about what you did, but none of the other BS. The boat looks amazing.
Well done. Although I prefer restorations to the original, your resto-mod looks awesome. As an old codger, I much prefer the shape of these older boats to the new stuff. Brings back my childhood memories of the best boats.
just an awesome job. hold on to it. you'll be tempted to 'get rid of it' for something else at some point....but the fact that you worked on it with both your folks - it looks like - is very special. keep it.
I've never seen anything from your channel before but this was a lot of fun to watch. Loved the energy you brought and it doesn't hurt that the builder is easy on the eyes. 😅
Goes to show that if you take your time, take advice when you need it, and have high standards for yourself that anyone can do a "professional" job. Looks great
Black is the most difficult color, all irregularities and mistakes with sanding and puttying are brutally revealed. Lighter colors significantly easier, white easiest. Good job.
I so want to do this and will someday but fantastic job, who cares if you didn't the paint as good as a pro did! There is something better about saying that you did it rather than I paid so and so to, please if you want just do a good cut and polish that will make it much better. I absolutely love the colors that you chose, black with dark brown interior rocks, enjoy it!
Hey brother, first of all, amazing project! After watching this for a few times, I finally decided to buy a similar boat. How much did you approximately spend on the restoration? I have two options, one boat in average condition with a higher price tag and one in a worse/almost bad condition with much cheaper price tag. What do you think, which way should I go, since I am a complete beginner in boat restoration? Have a nice day!
Wow. Inspirational build. So great! Found my way to your channel via your home depot guitar today. New subscriber. I reckon you're gonna get a lot more of those very soon. Keep the builds comin!
Ah man, growing up, every time I saw a derelict small boat like that I fantasised about revamping it - so cool to live vicariously through you on this project🥲

Doesn’t count for the german airport BER…

To be fair the second question is probably how long it took?
His dads dope af
The people who can actually afford to but it. Will absolutely ask how long it would take you to build them one. Especially if they want it custom.
Took a 300 dollar boat and turned it into a timeless masterpiece good job fellas
Thank you for making it a single short video rather than 20 hour long episodes
Another similar saying my general foreman used to say.
“Quality will be remembered long after the price is forgotten.”
The boat looks sick. Awesome job
Way to jump into a huge project! Very informative as to what goes into restoring a boat with success. Love your honest commentary.
You know you made an awesome job when the boat almost competes with classic riva boats lookwise... absolutely loved watching the process
You have absolutely taken the proverbial sow’s ear and made it a silk purse. Great job! It must feel so rewarding to look back on your accomplishment.
I never heard that phrase! Thank you
Beautiful color scheme, it looks like one of those Italian speed boats
Looks like an awesome boat. I love the retro feel it has
You know it's gonna be a fun project when you have to shovel you boat out!! Love it.

Ima be 100% honest. If you asked me if this build was build by a professional I would have thought It was. Awesome job man
FANTASTIC!!! You'd never know this was your first boat. Trying to find video's to inspire me and this one definitely did. Thank you 😎
It's good to see a fellow Ludwig enjoyer. :)
Beautiful boat! The only thing that would make it better would be a vintage outboard to complete the retro look. But that’s not as easy as it sounds.
That turned out so much better looking that I expected. Better than it would have back in its own day.
Tremendous job! The finished boat is beautiful, and a credit to all your hard work and time spent on it. Enjoy it.
Killer job!! Holy shit that boat looks great. You have the best parents btw...
That's a great vision and for a first timer, very well executed. All it takes is a dream to turn into a goal and see it through. Name the boat. A fairy vision. Well done.
Great work, I had to go back and confirm that it only took 4 months! Enjoyed the pearl of wisdom from your dad, I’m going to use it.
Kudos keeping a boat out of the landfill!
Looks great, you did a fantastic job! Just a tip, get a foldable bathing ladder in the back, it might save your life one day!
Rebuilt stronger and looking awesome!
completely out standing Guys.
The format and style of your videos are perfect. You show enough to be informative about what you did, but none of the other BS.
The boat looks amazing.
That paint job made it look the best
Well done. Although I prefer restorations to the original, your resto-mod looks awesome. As an old codger, I much prefer the shape of these older boats to the new stuff. Brings back my childhood memories of the best boats.
Awesome job.... I think painting the engine to match would be an awesome final touch to pull the whole thing together.
Yeah I want to but don't want to mess up the value of the motor incase I upgrad and need to sell it
You did a great job on the boat, I wouldn’t mind owning it.
Great mini wood black speed boat dear its beautiful one same like light sports car dear 😊❤
What a beauty. If a 10 part series about the build would be made i’d binge it right away😅
Here's the full 12 part series!

just an awesome job. hold on to it. you'll be tempted to 'get rid of it' for something else at some point....but the fact that you worked on it with both your folks - it looks like - is very special. keep it.
Immaculate song choice btw

Black is the most difficult color, all irregularities and mistakes with sanding and puttying are brutally revealed. Lighter colors significantly easier, white easiest. Good job.
Amazing job! Was fun to watch your progress
Nice eye for detail. Well done. Greetings from 🇮🇪
Great job! For the icing on the cake have you considered a vinyl wrap or local artist to paint the modern engine cover in a retro style?
why do i love the Dad's voice so much! nice video!
The best part of old boats like that is getting back in one after you're done swimming.
I so want to do this and will someday but fantastic job, who cares if you didn't the paint as good as a pro did!
