    This channel is for those interested in leveling up and making significant improvements in their lifestyle. While the content focuses on upper-class environments, it is applicable to anyone looking to improve their social skills, make more money, or go after their dreams. Yes, my social skills suck. I don't like humans all that much. I do have my moments, but I think that's why UA-cam has me here. Being financially educated isn't enough.

      Common thing. The genius of social skills is you don’t necessarily have to be overly friendly and chummy. Plenty of a-holes get what they want

    I also found that having a wide repertoire was useful. In high-school I downloaded an app called famous people, and learned them all. It really has helped me in conversation, I at least have a point of reference for who they're talking about

      Yes this is a great point. Vague familiarity is often all you need, the rest of the conversation can easily fill in any gaps.

    Stay Pretentious!! Don't mind if I do!! Great content I love your new channel. I'm a serial entrepreneur in Las Vegas. I will tell you from first hand experience, your network is worth more than your networth, by leaps and bounds. You cannot purchase a great network and when you're down and out these people who know you're sincere and know what you're about, will 100% step up to the plate and help you.

      The last part is so important to understand. People are more than willing to step up when they can tell you’re authentic. Faking it is a repellent!

    In general, it’s better to learn to ask intelligent questions, and be willing to listen and learn. The worst thing to do is to talk as if you’re knowledgeable about a topic when you aren’t. It makes a person sound like an idiot.

    There is an excellent 3 hour movie from 1975 directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Ryan O'Neal which effectively showcases the rise and fall of an 18th century social climber. It is filled with really interesting nuances, subtleties etc based on interactions of the upper classes of the day, those who serve them and those who attempt to interlope. It is a long movie which requires full attention and reading between the lines. However, if you are patient, it's a great movie which also doesn't take itself too seriously.
    It's final message however rounds it off brilliantly -
    "It was during the reign of George III that the aforesaid personages lived and quarrelled. Good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor, they are all equal now".

    Well im in quite the predicament. My social skills are poor due to my speech impediment. Everyone on my father’s side has one, so we all have this burden lol. My whole life I’ve dealt with people in school thinking that I am illiterate or nervous when I am not. It isn’t too bad in the workplace, expect with presentations. Most people naturally try to avoid me since I am the “odd one out”, and do not want to be seen near me lol. I still try to interact with people, but the inevitable always occurs.

      Have you tried letting people know that’s the case preemptively? It can often help to (confidently) own it upfront

    • @SaffariRose

      By speech impediment do you mean something like stuttering or a lisp? I have come across many intellectual individuals who stutter and do just fine (I had a professor like this, super smart guy). Even in the political spaces, Joe Biden is a known stutterer and so was Winston Churchill and King George the VI. (Infact, I'll recommend 'The King's Speech', an award winning film that beautifully covers his struggles to sound eloquent with his speech therapist).
      Please know you aren't any less, and some people are too crass for your attention but you might just have to put in extra effort or learn certain tricks to help.

    • @danhen223

      @xavier.clb1 Yes I have, sometime that works, although usually they just say: “yea it’s fine”, then after our conversation they look at me like I am slow or mentally impaired.

    • @danhen223
      @danhen223 4 дні тому +1

      @@SaffariRose I have both a stutter and a lisp. Yes I am well aware of all the impactful people throughout history who had a speech impediment. The thing people who do not stutter do not realize that there are different levels/types of stutters. Most people have a mild stutter so it’s no big deal. Other people like myself have heavier blocks/pauses in speech, therefore it’s more noticeable in conversation. I am not trying to be a victim or anything, I am just outlining a problem most people do not think of. At the end of the day, I just have to accept it and continue speech therapy.

      Depends on what you’re looking for - insight into upper class spaces? General self improvement? Understanding social systems? I don’t think there are many who combine all of it.
      I don’t consume much content but when I do, I listen to Rom Wills Deep Thought, Karmalita Fox, and Jodie K Tay. They think very similarly to me.

    I was literally at an AGM yesterday where nobility (not American) tried to talk to me and I was a bit (too) cold but that’s also because I genuinely wasn’t trying to impress him but I think he would definitely recognize me if he saw me on the street again since we live in the same neighborhood 😂

    I interact with both rich and poor people. Rich people are BORING. Without their money, no one would want to be around them.

    • @xavier.clb1
      @xavier.clb1  6 днів тому +4

      If the people around you are boring, that is a reflection of the spaces you participate in. Rich, poor, or otherwise.

    • @MarkL-we8uk
      @MarkL-we8uk 6 днів тому +4

      Ruch people tend to be guarded and reserved around people they neither know, know nothing of, or cannot place. Anyone with both reputations and resources to protect would do likewise. It might come across boring, however, is what it is.
      I guess you can always join the poor, where space is plentiful and a welcome is guaranteed

    • @peachespointofview
      @peachespointofview 5 днів тому

      @ poor people have better personalities and attitudes. And are more friendly. Rich people tend to be snobbish. That’s why you’ll find a chick from a good background dating the bad boy over the guy from a good background. That her parents want her to date🤷🏽‍♀️ The Bad Boy is interesting. The decent guy is boring and snobbish.

    • @majindevon
      @majindevon 4 дні тому +1

      I disagree. Rich people often can discuss large and complex ideas in macro. Poor people often just repeat corporate or political propaganda while having strong opinions based on very little to no evidence.
