I don’t think we always realize how impactful Walter Jones is to the culture. On Power Rangers in particular, he was unapologetically Black in attitude and appearance. Even more, he is arguably the first live-action Black superhero on television.
And not one negative stereotype What's sad is if you Google the first Carl Lumbly comes up as the first in MANTIS, which didn't come out until a whole year after MMPR he really is the first no debate no arguement
Wow. Wow. Wow. “Zack” was my favorite ranger when I was a kid, I even met him back in 2019. Had a convo with him and took a few photos. Not one time did I notice he had a missing finger. This video is the first time hearing about it or seeing it. Also, he was Black Panther before it’s time
Last time seeing him was House Party (2023), now his reprising his Black Ranger role in the new MMPR Netflix special. Walter Jones will never be forgotten, forever a bondage in our childhood!

We met him at Comicpalooza here in Houston back in 2014. He's really sweet! My oldest sister, who was in her late 40s mind you, had to take a picture with him lol. Even adults watched Power Rangers back in the day man that was our soap opera for kids!!!

I was 7 back in 1993, and I'm about to turn 37 this year. As a kid The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was my everything. And Walter E. Jones was my idol as a kid. I did Karate cuz I saw him doing it on the show.
This retro piece was very nicely done, didn't know Jones was in so many other tv shows. He's had a SOLID career, doing what he enjoys ( dancing, acting & martial arts )keep on living your best life Walter, the 9-to-5 is a DRAG !!! LOL.

Walter Jones I grew up on obviously as the Black Ranger The Power Rangers were by far and away my favorite television show. Growing up I had all the action figures. The toys. You name it. I had it. And me growing up are often wonder how a lot of the actors who played the Power Rangers careers ended up. It's unfortunate his career didn't take off because the dude was legit talented.
It seems like the Ranger with the most successful post MMPR career is Amy Jo Johnson. Compared to the rest. Walter was asked during an interview what would he have done differently. He said stayed with the series for at least 3 seasons, and gotten paid correctly. The last thing, and he repeated it was to have appeared in the 1st 🎥. Possibly, that could have advanced his career.
I had the action figures with the flipping heads when you would mash their belts lol. Another kid in my class( who's name was zack) had the green rangers flute and all the power morphers with the animal coins!!! Man we were addicted!!!😩😂😂
@@gregorybush3224 Yeah definitely, if he could've gotten that first movie role he would probably at least be a c list celebrity maybe. He did what he could to stay relevant.
