I love how you were explaining the process you took and why you made the decision you did…especially how you kept the client informed and explained to her the steps and risks associated with coloring her hair. I want to pursue a career in the beauty industry, so I watch a lot of videos on hair styling and coloring and makeup…and with someone who has no education on coloring you did the best job yet that I understood. Keep up the good work👍🏾

Girl you did a amazing job on her hair and I hope you got a humongous tip. I took my hair from black to blonde from home and I absolutely loved it. Did it myself. I did it once before but I did it at a salon on the 1st time and the hairstylist had me sit in his chair on 4 different occasions at $225 a each appointment. I've never wanted to go back to a salon after that because it was so expensive . I'm a firm believer that if someone gets my hair the way I want it then I'll give them the $225 in a tip verses a hair fee but I'm not sitting in a hair stylist chair on so many occasions to achieve blonde. You are the 1st stylist I've seen who has did a kick ass job in one setting. Realistically I know that is not possible with all clients but it can be done with some clients who take good care of their hair. Again, awesome job sweets!!!

Have you ever used color remover, 2 rounds, before bleaching? It makes it much easier to bleach afterwards and there’s no damage from the remover. You did a great job with this client. The top just looked highlighted. Personally I never lift the roots before I lift the ends and mid-shaft, seeing how light I can safely get them. Then I know how much to lift the roots to match. Makes even toning much easier.

That hair ended up with so much damage in the ends and the roots were processed since the beginning of the process. I would of preferred to do it more slowly and the roots only at the end, since they were lifting a lot. And usually "Hispanic" tends to lift orange, her hair lifted yellow, which was a total blessing. I also understand salons can't usually book 7+ hrs to extract black dye without that much damage.

Wouldn't it have been better to get the lengths to the desired level first before bleaching the regrowth? Because if the lengths never lighten up enough you can just lift the virgin hair to same level as the lengths and it will all blend.

    • @BobbyHairStudio
      @BobbyHairStudio  2 роки тому +1

Her lengths cannot reach the level her virgin hair can, because of the staining from Black dye. So we got her as light as we could and decided to take it appointment at a time from then on

@@BobbyHairStudio That was kind of my point. Since her lengths can't get as light as her virgin hair wouldn't it be easier to match the virgin hair to the lengths? Your outfit is so cute! But how do you not get dye and bleach all over it

a question - if there was black colour on the lower part of the hair why bleach it instead of use a colour remover and then bleach?

There’s multiple ways of doing this service! Color remover helps to remove colour molecules but it doesn’t completely remove it!

Hiw long was the bleach on the hair. That first processed piece was on how long?

I would just do on color correction. Tone come back and go lighter in stages. It's just safer.

Also, the likelihood of overlapping on the new growth is so great, you're going to have so much damage. You need to work smarter, not harder and with less likelyhood of damage.

I hate when hair dressers act like it’s surgery happening lol. Getting everybody in the whole salon to observe your hair like your a test subject, lmaooo. I’ve been in that situation & it’s so uncomfortable lol, I still to this day just prefer to DIY my own hair lol & if I screw it up majorly THEN I’ll go to a salon.

I can understand it being uncomfortable, but a lot of times it is a learning opportunity for other stylists/assistants.

@@maeve.starlight I went to cosmetology school too, :) although, it’s a learning process, which I totally get, I’ve always thought that it would be so much better if you could get the client…not this particular salon, ..but any another salon to at least give the customer an option..Just on my experience & what Ive seen and gone through.

@@Emily33233 that completely makes sense. 😊 kind of like when I was in labor I was asked if a nursing student could stand in and observe and not just have then decide that for me.

This is very pretty and thank you for your great explanation and details.
There's something I don't understand. Why did her ends snap? You said this was because it had been previously bleached platinum. But you were able to bleach everything a 2nd time during the session. Why the difference?

I’m currently in Cosmetology school🥰And I’m jw about how much would you charge for a service like this? Considering the amount of time and effort put into such a beautiful outcome💪🏾You did a great job. Thank you for the video I learned so much. A lot of things I’m learning I’m school makes since now. Using the purple toner, the foil looked was perfect, consultation …..

I charged $100per hour for this correction! My new updated pricing is now $120 per hour.
I recommend as a new hairstylist, that you have a lower price point for your colour corrections as you will likely take longer for your appointment and this is the way to best get colour corrections in your chair because they’re expensive no matter what. If you have a client who needs a correction but doesn’t have $1000 budget, as a new stylist if you feel comfortable taking on that appointment, I would charge $70 per hour to begin.
