Man, I couldn’t leave the wheel wells, and the front of the box white, that would eat me alive. It’s almost a new truck, and that’s the way I’d make it again.
Guys, I have been a painter for over 35 years. In my experience trying to butt match paint, especially pearl is virtually impossible. Even a brand-new vehicle can have variations of shades depending on the factory that built it. We use a vindicator when we mix our paint. I would not have said anything however, you did ask for people’s opinion. Keep up the great work guys are awesome.
had this matching issue 20 years ago doing tornado red on an 02 VW Golf. Finally scraped some paint off a scrap piece to find the proper primer color. I think you are going to have to blend to make it . The bed front and wheel wells are a dead giveaway of a rebuild fix that while you are at it. Really appreciate you guys. ...F
Hi guys, great second time paint work on door and bed of truck. Hang the door and bed to see if you need to blend the paint job. If not you are home on the paint work. Like to see the complete project.
Hard work blending. It's hard to know where to stop the clear coat. Son in law does this for a living. I got some blending foam strip for when i did a Motorhome. Best of luck whichever way you go. It was good to see you know how to handle a spray gun. So many paint in an arc instead of staying parallel to the job.
Yes definitely blend all adjacent panels meaning both cab corners and rear door on right side and left front door and why did you not paint the head board? I get the inside raptor liner the bed and I would raptor liner the wheel wells myself because of the typical over the tire rot that they are known for big dollar truck don't get skimping and in the paint notation it should have stated to use a gray sealer/primer.... surprised your paint shop didn't mention it to you first time picking up the color 🤔.....any time I am working with white parts I seal them in gray/black/red/green depending on color covering it white is a brighter to base colors...if you can't tell I have gotten bitten by the white dog a couple times.... now I always look to see what the factory sealer color is.......I did a VW cabriolet once it had a beige sealer/primer and I went with white and what a disaster to color match....me and the paint mixer decided to tint the white with base colors brown and yellow to get it close to the color VW used.....cost me like $600 bucks for the paint and labor to get it right needless to say I didn't make much on that job blend all the panels connected TRI coat is very unforgiving and you will see it...but nice Job I like that you show when something happens and your honest about it....we are all human and not a one of us are perfect.👍👌✌️🇺🇸🇺🇲
Ivan and Mike I would have use a yellow Primer over the white truck bed and door that is why the red color paint didn't come out the way you wanted it to look the White bed color washed out the red hope that helps you out
Definitely blend. It’s definitely going to be hard to get some type of match. But with blending it’ll help hind some of the shade difference. Other words it will trick the eye.
The zebra lines are due to the gun being too close to the panel. PULL BACK. Adjust your fluid feed and fan if needed, but you take so many passes to cover the panel. Your fan is only about what 6 inches tall? It should be 12 or so.
Thanks guys for the update on the F250. It is not an easy task to achieve that the painting remains the same as the original, but if the person who sells it is a professional, he can make it by eye based on experience.😉😉
When you got the paint they should have told you to do the grey to start with. It is now much closer but you will need a blend and please paint the front if the bed.
Looks great and i make no comment about the quality of your work, but why haven’t you done the front of the bed - seems a bit half a job of leave it white?
Seeing how tricky it is to match paint would almost make me want to wait until I could find the needed body parts already in the factory color. Although I imagine it would be a long wait!
I think it would be best to blend it also please paint the backside of the bed that facing the cab and the wheel wells. I know they are not visible but that is just the lazy way out to leave them the original colour
It’s a pity they didn’t tell you that yesterday I was looking at you paint straight onto the white thinking this is so wrong The right color primer is so important to the finished colour I would be painting both sides fully
I'm trying to learn how to paint so i watch a lot of painting videos. I've noticed even though you're paint jobs turn out beautiful. Your spray gun doesn't have a very wide pattern. It looks more like a touch up gun.
If you don’t mind a little constructive criticism. Perhaps speed up some of the Timelapse portions cause watching Ivan remove door seals for 35 seconds is a bit of overkill. Just my two bits 👍🏼
Can't you get the Ford paint code off the door jam sticker and get the paint made to be 100% match??? Also why would you not paint the front of the box and wheel wells. That would drive me crazy.
Ivan you are a great painter but one thing concerns me. You are leaving the front of the bed white! On most trucks you would be able to see a bit of white. I haven't looked at a late model Ford to see how much gap there is but I am thinking it's probably pretty much standard gap! Anyhow outstanding job on the build but that part concerned me!
Honestly blending would most likely look better, I would see how the paint on the gas cap would look next to the truck then make a decision. If it were a truck for myself i would not care, Truck are made to work not really for show
Blend it and please paint the front of the bed. It’s the details that matter. If I spotted that I wouldn’t buy that truck because I would wonder what else was half done. Even if yo sprayed it with the first red it would be better. I love your work but can’t let this go.
Beautiful color, but if you don't blend it with the existing panels it will be problematic. Viewing it in the sunshine it will be two very different colors. Also, please paint all the white panels, bed and the wheel wells.
Leaving any of the white will diminish the quality of the rebuild. Yes, more work but the white is a dead give away of a cheap repair. Nice project overall.
You going to need to paint the whole truck to make it look right. Blending will not work, in few years it will look like a wreck with the blending showing . To nice a truck to not paint whole truck
Wow , I’d find that if I was interested in this truck and as soon as I see the fender wells white or the back of the bed white I’d run for the hills , very poor quality
Man, I couldn’t leave the wheel wells, and the front of the box white, that would eat me alive. It’s almost a new truck, and that’s the way I’d make it again.
I agree, that would be a killer to me on buying this truck. I rather have it done right.
Well, you will know not to buy that truck. Cut corners for paint. What else was ?
That would not have passed in our shop u don’t leave front of box white or inside of fender wells cutting corners doesn’t work
Ikr so much for "doing it right"

Looks good are you going to paint the front of the bed?
Looks like short cuts are being done on this paint ? what else is done this way?
why are you not painting the outer and inner front wall of the bed?
Of course do the blend. The new shop truck deserves the very best.
I am wondering why you didn't paint inside of the wheel openings and the front of the bed
Doing it on the cheap, as always
Nice but paint wheel wells and front of bed…👌
Blend it but finish the front of the bed and the wheel wells and then you will have a finish job well done 👏 👍
Rhino liner the inside bed and wheel wells.
what about the wheel wells and the underside of the bed?
I think it would be best to blend to the rest of the truck especially since it's a pearl paint and not single stage. Beautiful color!

I would definitely blend it in, give it that finishing touch. Thanks
1:13 The King is coming! Yep! 👍
Amazing job guys, the patience you show, unless y'all are throwing tools off camera, is second to none!
Coming along very Nice Guys
I would blend it. It's going to be a nice truck.
Looking great
I have a question why don't you paint the whole bed like the front part of it and in side of the bed not just do the sides.
Coming along very Nice Question way don’t you paint the front of the bed
Hi guys, great second time paint work on door and bed of truck. Hang the door and bed to see if you need to blend the paint job. If not you are home on the paint work. Like to see the complete project.
Great job! Just leave it alone!
BLEND!!!!!👍👍👍👍
Are you going to paint the front of the bed?
I hope they do, at least spray it with the black bedliner. Leaving it white back there would still stick out like a glowing neon sign!
Front of the bed will be easily visible. I know it is on my F250. Maybe they are going to rhino line it when they do the inside of the bed.
Hard work blending. It's hard to know where to stop the clear coat. Son in law does this for a living. I got some blending foam strip for when i did a Motorhome. Best of luck whichever way you go. Amen! The KING is coming!
Just leave it alone. Great job.
It would be nice to see how you sew the seats with the new air bags installed.
why didnt u paint the wheelwell and the back of the bed?????
Great job on painting. You can leave it alone!
Yes definitely blend all adjacent panels meaning both cab corners and rear door on right side and left front door and why did you not paint the head board? Don't cheap out on not painting the front of bed.
Love this truck....you guys do great work
Not always
Did you get the paint from the same company second time?
Tell me you aren't going to leave the front bed panel white?!? "cough" hacks "cough"
Ivan and Mike I would have use a yellow Primer over the white truck bed and door that is why the red color paint didn't come out the way you wanted it to look the White bed color washed out the red hope that helps you out
You the boss. Beautiful
You guys are awesome body paint and mechanics
Looks great I would blend it too nice of a truck not to.
Definitely blend. It’s definitely going to be hard to get some type of match. But with blending it’ll help hind some of the shade difference. Other words it will trick the eye.
Why isnt the front of the bed painted??
I think I read that the seats have to be sewn together with a special thread for the airbags. Might be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere.
The zebra lines are due to the gun being too close to the panel. PULL BACK. Adjust your fluid feed and fan if needed, but you take so many passes to cover the panel. Your fan is only about what 6 inches tall? It should be 12 or so.

You need to paint the front of the bed I would paint the whole truck
Does your pressure washer still work?
Yeah I agree with him!!
When you got the paint they should have told you to do the grey to start with. It is now much closer but you will need a blend and please paint the front if the bed.
Looks great and i make no comment about the quality of your work, but why haven’t you done the front of the bed - seems a bit half a job of leave it white?
Please paint the front of that bed
Thinking you'll need to do some blending to get the best outcome.
I think the new paint looks better than the old one
Nice.
Under paint color was too light ! Darker should have gave you better results !
Paint the whole truck...especially cover that white . You won't have to worry about blend lines.
Where do you guys sell your vehicles, I really need an f250
Seeing how tricky it is to match paint would almost make me want to wait until I could find the needed body parts already in the factory color. Although I imagine it would be a long wait!
I think it would be best to blend it also please paint the backside of the bed that facing the cab and the wheel wells. I know they are not visible but that is just the lazy way out to leave them the original colour
How much paint and labor was there to do the front and wheel wells. Why would you leave it like this? Cmon, do it right.
I believe I would leave it alone! It's so close now!
Thinking butt match paint little 🤔 overall on the road with this Ford
Watch Vechor w/Scott and you'll see how its done the right way .
It’s a pity they didn’t tell you that yesterday
I was looking at you paint straight onto the white thinking this is so wrong
The right color primer is so important to the finished colour
I would be painting both sides fully
Looks good but you should blend it in
Are you really get that much more on the sale of the truck if you blend it?
I'm trying to learn how to paint so i watch a lot of painting videos. I've noticed even though you're paint jobs turn out beautiful. Your spray gun doesn't have a very wide pattern. It looks more like a touch up gun.
My thoughts exactly. Definitely need a decent gun for spraying metallic paints to avoid stripes Lol
Why didn't you do a test panel 1st.?
Awesome videos but spent a little more time and do the whole job. You will be able to see the white once the bed us on the truck
be safe than sorry, good idea to blend the red otherwise you may end up having 2 different color red on the truck
Paint the inside fender wells they still are white alittle
Definitely blend it
If you don’t mind a little constructive criticism. Perhaps speed up some of the Timelapse portions cause watching Ivan remove door seals for 35 seconds is a bit of overkill. Just my two bits 👍🏼

I haven't looked at a late model Ford to see how much gap there is but I am thinking it's probably pretty much standard gap! Anyhow outstanding job on the build but that part concerned me!
Definitely blend and the front of the bed was a big mistake…it should be painted to look like a quality job.
Honestly blending would most likely look better, I would see how the paint on the gas cap would look next to the truck then make a decision. If it were a truck for myself i would not care, Truck are made to work not really for show
Blend to be on the safe side 😊😊
Reshoot the entire truck all over too get a better product in the end .
👍 Nice
Blend it and please paint the front of the bed. It’s the details that matter. If I spotted that I wouldn’t buy that truck because I would wonder what else was half done. Even if yo sprayed it with the first red it would be better. I love your work but can’t let this go.

Blend it to give that paint job character.
Blend it but would put a light coat on the front side of the bed I know it will covered up where no one can see
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💝💝🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎇🎇🎆🎆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏👏🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🎇🎇🎆🎆💪💪🫡🫡👏🏼👏🏼👑👑👑👑👑👑👑👏🏼👏🏼
Next time use a spray out card before actually painting the parts or vehicle. It will save time and money.
I would take the time and blend.
Like "The King Is Coming" sweatshirt..
You going to need to paint the whole truck to make it look right. Blending will not work, in few years it will look like a wreck with the blending showing . To nice a truck to not paint whole truck
Need to blend also paint color looks like code RR if so it's a 3 stage paint looks like you are using a base clear
BLEND!!!!
Paint the front of the bed guys and the interior of the door.
Wow , I’d find that if I was interested in this truck and as soon as I see the fender wells white or the back of the bed white I’d run for the hills , very poor quality
The airbag in seats if u have them stichup u need to have the new cover bought it makes the airbag deploy correctly. Just stichup does not do it.
Can’t wait to see this puppy out in the sun! Maybe just get it wrapped.
Yeah I would blend it to the truck
Blend it to front corner break it to headlights
Blend it for sure please don't lift the truck just put some nice wheels and tires on it
I can't understand leaving the wheel wells and box front white. I mean, now much extra paint are we talking about?
