No, not doing the TAT in 2023. May do parts of it again , but not sure I do the entire TAT again. I had a more interesting time out west than I did east of the Mississippi. The east is just too developed.
Out West I used a 1 Gallon Giant Loop Armadillo Bag. There are places where if you get turned around and backtrack, you might need it. Whenever I used it, I would dump it on as soon as I could and roll it back up. It was peace of mind to have it. A few times in Utah, we had to backtrack and find other ways due to downed trees. Came real close.
The UTV would need to be licensed for the road as you will be on roads requiring a licensed vehicle. I believe you could do it in a UTV aside from the license issue. May want a winch on the front so you could self extract if needed.
@@donsdoityourself2547 So that one isn’t the official TAT the way Sam created it? It’s a shame that someone else would make a different version but still use the Trans America Trail name.
@@JeffStoess it shares most of the same route. It deviates after Moab. Sam has a Pacific option that is similar else it would not be "Trans-America ". It's all good.
Thanks. I agree. But they were one sided conversations and the wind noise was obnoxiouly loud most of the time. I should have had an external mic with wind sock on the Camera.
I use the purple panda mic in my helmet. About $30.00 currently. It has two different wind socks. Virtually no wind noise shield open or closed, but can hear voices Clearly and engine noise in background. It looks like an amazing ride! Well done!
Hi Don,
Thanks for sharing your trip footage. It brings back good memories from my own ride 🙂
Love yur footage and great memories
Thanks.
Keep up the vids, and are you doin tat again this year 2023?

Did you need to extend the 690s fuel range on any of the sections? What did you use?

Did you ride a modified version of the TAT? It looks like you skipped the Idaho section.
There are a few versions out there. We were riding the GPS Kevin's route that terminates in Oregon. Sam's route is different.

Nice footage. I would have rather been able to hear the bikes and yall conversations than the music.
