    That footage you wanted to know where it was (29:39 min) is Donner Lake Pass Rd going into the town of Donner Lake. Been there a plenty

      Thank you! You don't know how long I searched Google Earth to match the pattern of that road (near a body of water) yo identify were they were at.

      Donner Pass Rd from Norden to truckee.
      You road right past Donner ski ranch where they have the Donner Hard Enduro.

    Really like the third person narration. That's different and works nicely. Good music. More to watch, only at end of day 3. I've watched several (more actually) BDR vids and this is one of the better ones.

    Excellent work MotoNoob! We really appreciate your efforts in piecing together our shit show of an effort to tackle the NorCal BDR. Your commentary was so good it felt like you must’ve been there with us. Very well done, thank you.

      I believe they all had the route on their GPS devices.

      @@Eds_PanAm Yes, we all had phones or Garmin devices, but we’re all old and not experienced with how to maximize the capabilities.

      @@ryanb5189 If I was going to run it again, I would try to get an earlier start, maybe mid June. Slightly cooler temps, more moisture in the soil, less chance of fires, just my opinion.

    No one recorded the route? Did anyone bother to plan out the route?

    • @themotonoobusa9710
      @themotonoobusa9710  20 днів тому +1

      Their exact route is probably recorded on GPS but I wasn't given that info. The BDR or "Back Country Discovery Route" is a planned route that has to be purchased and downloaded to a GPS device so yes, the route was planned.

    Great footage but the music was overwhelming. Couldn’t hear motor sounds or guys talking. only made it halfway through. Sorry, and never heard what bikes were used.

      Two 890’s, 690, 701 were the bikes.

      @ Pete’s Husky 701 had some sort of an electrical issue. We couldn’t solve it on the trail, tied a new battery, took the headlamp mask apart looking for wiring issue, etc. When he got home, the dealer couldn’t figure it out either, but Pete had done a few mods over time that could’ve come back to haunt him. Dealer finally concluded he needed a new top end. All the other bikes, the two 890’s and 690, all ran without issue.

      @@motochimp1 thanks for the reply. I'm a big KTM fan. I have 4 (2 RFS, 1 2stroke, and an 1190 advr) and they have all been very reliable (as long as I keep up with the high maintenance). I'm wondering if the reliability has diminished on the newer KTMs.
