Iran was a progressive and democratic country then, their people enjoyed the freedom that was the envy of other islamic country. How I wish they will regain that freedom again sooner. I love iranian people but not the current regime.
Iran was neither progressive nor democratic country like it’s today. The only difference is they were being ruled under a Secular Dictatorship rather than an Islamic Dictatorship.
@@natadodo1564 Wait what ? Driving caddilacs or ford cars does NOT make you democratic or progressive. Today we also see those fabulous cars (ferraris, lamborghinis, maseratis...etc) in the oil-rich countries which are ruling by Radical Dictators (Saudi Arabia is a good example for it) but this doesn’t mean they are so “democratic” right ? Also there was no freedom of speech and freedom of vote in Iran. They were being ruled by a crazy dictator. They were oppresing minorities (such as Baluchs, Kurds, Azeris, Turkmens, Arabs...) and assimilating them forcibly. Only difference between today’s Iran and Shah Iran is that Shah was just secular.
