NEIL IS THE UNSUNG HERO THAT CHEMISTRY NEEDS
THANK YOU NEIL YOU ARE INDISPENSABLE AND ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL
+Teagan Smith
Every chemist has a Neil.
THIS IS MY NEIL
THERE ARE MANY LIKE IT, BUT THIS ONE IS MINE
WITHOUT ME THIS NEIL IS NOTHING
WITHOUT MY NEIL I AM NOTHING
Legend.
+Teagan Smith I would like to image Neil never talks. He is a perfectionist and a genius, but does not waste his energy speaking or meddling in useless social formalities.
A true unsung hero.
Neil is the parental order to their entropy
Whens Neil appreciation day?
MrSauceman09 Neil Revenge Day*
He's a soviet assassin he just doesn't want to give his accent in
Mert İndibi Some say that his breath smells of magnesium, and that he's scared of bells... all we know is, he's called Neil.
frtard dude it sounds like you just made that up lol
Mert İndibi top gear reference.
So Neil tossed and turned that night, dreaming of freezing chemists in liquid nitrogen and whacking them with a giant hammer... ;-)
Sometimes I dream of having a x 10 thumbs up button!
This video should have been titled "Neil's Cleaning Checklist" or something like that
What ever you lot are paying Neil, it will never be enough! The man deserves a knighthood for his patience.
That's even more funny cause Martin was knighted
Poor Neil
you should make a video to celebrate him
I second this
I third this
@@matthewbrown1617 Yes,of course
Neils gonna shank you guys one of these days
+oldnotweak true
+oldnotweak Only if they take his swingline stapler.
+oldnotweak I would like to think that he would do something a little more fitting... like trap them in a giant bell jar and then evacuate the oxygen...
+karrachr000 haha!
Neil scares me sometimes.
i like neil :) he is like if Heisenberg and agent 47 had a baby or something, cool as ice
Cool as liquid nitrogen
haha yea
Cool as solid helium
Is anyone else really craving some Cadbury Cream Eggs right now?
I lived very near to Canada as a kid in the U.S. and I remember Cadbury Creme Eggs illegal to cross back into the U.S. with.
Yes Kinder eggs are illegal but cream eggs are not
I don't know how i got to this channel, but I'm happy I arrived.
Same
I wish Neil spoke more often! He's like an unsung hero in Periodic Videos and needs to have an interview!
Neil has this second job, where also might be some fellows around, making their jokes at his costs. You know he's the reticent guy with the hard biceps but the soft heart. But there he can hide his face under his white helmet and he can put on the white racing suit and he is allowed to let off all the steam, which built up at the campus during the week.
you watch too many movies....although that's not totally implausible
LCdrDerrick Are you saying Neil is... our tame racing driver?
Is this Neil? Even if you clean streets for a living at least your earning a living
+LCdrDerrick Neil confirmed for The Stig
The next day Neil came to work with an automatic rifle to "clean up".
"Wood" comes from trees.
and arousel
They are not in America
One day Neil has to do a nice big messy experiment, and everyone else has to clean it hehe. Loving the video's. Going to watch them all. >:D
I would love to see that.
or he just needs to make a mess for them to clean
Neil looks so sad, you guys should throw him a party.
I'm sure Neil's plotting silently for revenge.
I'm glad you guys and gals appreciate how much we love Neil, HAHA he's my favorite! Defiantly the strong silent type.
cadbury's cremé egg, how do you eat your?: with a huge pair of tongs and a welding glove.
Lol, Neil is always like "What are you idiots doing again" :D
Poor Neil! hahaha
Poor Neil.
poor neil
Did anyone hear Niel's voice for the first time???
“Yeah, right”, at the very end...
He said thanks Gabe as well
First time I believe I have seen him smirk as well
1:35 i have a feeling that You might be that next clean up job for Neil.
"The rare Neil in his natural habitat"
6:38
poor Neil
Neil be like: "Fuck this shit. I'm out."
I love how these people spend their time not lecturing / researching on screwing around with eggs (and other equally ridiculous experiments). Best lecturer to have...
Poor Neil! There is always some mess that they are making that he has to clean up.
Yeah Neil might have to do a messy experiment of his own :D
3:40 I love Neil's reaction. "Yeah, your friend. Sure."
"Look mom, I'm a scientist!"
*Smashes Creme Egg with a Mallet*
"Okay sweetie."
I vote Neil watches them clean up the next mess
I'm just saying the guys who are paying Neil should start paying him double 'cause you never know when that dude's temp is going to go on high and burst just like Mr.Cream Egg did, except he would burst through the door that's closest to him!
I think there should be a special video for Neal! A day in the life of Neal or something :P
Neil should get a pay increase!
Anyone else notice Neil is essentially Ser Ilyn Payne?
Still one of the most horrible and disgustingly sweet things to eat
+Ninos FL and for Neil to clean...
+Ninos FL You mean yummy and lovely.
They taste like a unicorn made entirely of sugar is having a bad case of diarrhea in your mouth.
"Show us a smile!"
"Yeah right..."
Poor Neil lol
seriously instructors like this should be paid like crazy to teach, knowledge like this is priceless!
That windows xp wallpaper with thousands of icons on the desktop
Science was made to figure out what the heck the cooks where up to.
i would love to work and laugh at the same time like these guys
"Let's see what happens when I hit this with my mallet!" Science at its finest.
Neil should get a CBE since the Doc has been Knighted.
Cleaner of the British Empire.
Poor Neil, I do feel sorry for the fella.
Some of your vids reaffirm the "mad scientist" stereotypes. Love it
Neil doesn't even react to the explosion, he just laughs when everybody else screams at it.
Why does he have so many short cuts on his desktop omg. That would drive me nuts. 1:41
The pity level for Neil in these comments is impressive.
i read this in david mitchells voice and it fit perfectly
so good to see people having so much fun in the workplace
This was the first video from Nottingham I saw. Now I'm subscribed to all of your channels! Thanks for adding quality science to youtube.
moral of this channel: Science is fun XD
Also, that Neil doesn't get enough respect.
neil is da real mvp
this video is a landmark on this channel because you can actually hear neil speak
I love the camera shake when the mallet comes down. :)
For some reason I was expecting some vapor phase chromatography of the egg :-(
1:50 the desktop ugggh so nasty...
Jaka Korosec professors have a lot of files...
I love Neil's sideways glance. Sort of a "just you wait til later Mate"
Pete is a giant child. "Go! More heat! I want the goo out." Thanks to all of you for all the cool videos.
These chemists are just big kids really...
Thats why I want to be one !
all scientists are big kids, that's why science is so damn awesome :D
HeisenTwerk affirmative, sir. *snicker* _I said affirmative_ *snicker*
maffhunt Any adult who can't ever act like a big kid is doing something wrong with their life.
maffhun
Poor Neil...
I love how they just have so much fun as scientists.
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!!
Thank you everyone in these videos
DO MARSHMALLOWS
Is Neil a janitor or something? or an assistant?
He's the technician...so basically a janitor
+red toasti and the parental balance who doesn't go bat shi* over a graphite block, lol. ;)
These guys (and gal) are funny! I knew the chocolate cream egg would just break into small pieces before it was hit by a mallet. Fun video. I love the periodic videos!
Neil hears your cackling in his sleep every night. His nightmares wake him up screaming the only words he will be able to utter forevermore.
"The eggs... the EGGS!!!!"
Clean up, aisle Neil!!!
Neil....hmmm? Its more like Mr. Clean.
Dang it; now I can't get that image out of my head! (Mr. Clean has always struck me as a bit ominous, like you don't wanna mess with that guy or he'll clean you off the face of the earth or something. Adding Neal to that mix just seems... incredibly dangerous and foolhardy...)
I want to see an episode on poor neil !!!! He needs his moment in the sun for all his hard work!!!
Cadbury's Creme Eggs and cackling chemists - a perfect combination.
5:36 was a BEAUTIFUL hit! Really spot on!
3:37 *recks fumehood* -I'm gonna go give a lecture now
Neil's an excellent sport to play the straight man in all these shenanigans. I enjoy watching you fellows make science accessible to a wider audience.
The way Neil lights that match at 2:22 is just so damn cool. 😎
Neil, you are the real poor guy and thus also the hero in this series.
Its almost easter and those eggs are in stok everywhere!!!!! best time of the year!!!!!!
I'm guessing that Neil in other words means get on the ground and clean this up!After I watched this video I vow to never eat another cream egg for the rest of my life!!!!!!!!!!!!I loved the video so much!!!!!!!!!
3:52 neil is just standing there thinking. why did i let him near the fumer again.
the guy giggling at the end made him sound like a little kid haha. still made me laugh
NEIL is the true hero who makes everything possible. Thank you Neil!!!
What temperature is purple flame ranged at 2,000 to 2,500 or less because I now orange-ish red-ish is around 150 to 850 or 750
I always eat them frozen from a regular freezer. It makes the center well basically the texture of a glue stick which, as you eat the outer shell, melts into a slime that is just cold enough the stick to itself in one blob.
can we get a blue card salute for Neil, the real chemistry hero.
I did this experiment with the potassium chlorate (but with other candy) once in front of some elementary-school kids. actually made some of them cry.
That look when he said, " Aggain i managed to make a mess in my friends fumer" 😂😂😂
Shouldn't the chocolate keeps seal or is the pump too strong?
That thing about the crystal structure of chocolate is really interesting. I'm totally doing my chemistry project on that.
6:12 Bringing a whole new meaning to Frozen Mallet
3:45 Neil speaks "thanks, mate"
The computer has SO MANY ICONS!
Do ice crystals get smaller as the temp goes down?
I feel pretty confident you could freeze the egg in such a way that it would hold up a bit against the mallet... from my experiences with ice almost 200 degrees hotter.
As a chem work study student poor Neil. I know what is like to have those fun messes to clean up.
Science meets Easter and candy. Brilliant!
Still, it was good to see them finally coming out of their shells!
It's nice to see scientists having some good fun. Poor Neil. :)
NEIL SMILED! We must celebrate.
So, I would like to know more about what Neil does to clean up those messes and prepare the apparatus for the next use. Like, that's a lot of surface to sterilize after smashing that frozen egg all over the place all of which is going to melt before you find it all. Keeping your lab clean is more than half the battle, IMO. I may be wrong but an unexpected result would more often than not mean something unexpected in the environment.
I can't believe you destroyed Neil's workshop! I was a lab tech there 16 years ago and enjoyed working with him. He hasn't aged a single day.
