I find some tricks easier to perform, technically, with a heavier rope.
I believe it’s because the extra weight forces you to slow down, and the momentum of the heavier ropes eliminates the need to snap the rope around as it goes underneath you. Also, the thickness of heavy ropes disallows entanglement.

    Hi Rushie,
    Just subscribed!!!!!!
Just received my speed ropes today, one in white and one in black...I did notice that the white seemed a fraction thicker?........not a bad thing though in my opinion!
I was 50yrs old in April, my skipping is coming along well and my physique is changing, thank you for your inspiration.
I have been a lifelong gym rat and martial artist, on my 50th I decided to scale down the weights and go for more cardio and flexibility, skipping is forming the core of my workouts, I'm enjoying it so much as well as watching your channel.
I'm off to the gym tomorrow to test both ropes, I currently use Buddy Lee ropes but my initial thoughts are extremely positive, I had a quick go in the kitchen and really liked the feel of the ropes.
Keep up the good work Rushie, you seem a real top bloke and come across so well in your videos.
    Kind regards
    Tony

Thanks so much for making this tutorial! Super helpful! Another video request that I have is things that need to be done to care for my body to be able to keep skipping long-term. Maybe how many days a week to do it or how long each day. Maybe some stretching techniques that you use. I’ve been skipping for a few months using the money rope and the legacy rope now and I have had sore Achilles this last week. So I have taken a week off. I usually skip about four days a week for about 15 minutes each day before I start my weightlifting routine for the day. I try to do a minimal jump with each revolution. I’m not sure if I just need to be stretching or if I have overdone it and may have injured my Achilles. Thanks for all that you do in making these videos. I have really enjoyed learning to skip better and add a challenge to my cardio.
