Well i have been playing for about 4 month and now on stormblood msq. Lets just say that i already experience a lot of game mechanic. But when i back into dungeon level 35 dungeon as a tank idk that the bee can instant kill you if you not kill it first. My point is even though you already have a lot of experience you may miss one or two in this game and sometime make a mistake.but good thing is, the community here are willing to tell you what you must to do and usually a lot of them are pretty chill.
to get yelled at or kicked you need to do something so wrong multiple times without reading chat that it actually looks like griefing, like being an off tank and constantly provoke the boss and make him face the group over multiple boss fights. Of course if people are in discord some will probably talk shit there but it rarely makes its way into group chat, the way roulettes are designed and the sprout symbol above new players heads, people are used to new players unlike wow

It’s funny watching and hearing jaded “veteran” players get mad at a video game. As a “veteran” player in other games I’m always happy to see new players. I help them out when I can and understand there will be failures/wipes. Ffxiv has had a surge of new players because of another mmorpg mass exodus. It’s actually a good thing, the game won’t wither and die or have jaded “veteran” players only. That would be boring, life is about dealing with whatever comes your way. If you work or attend school things aren’t always easy, you need to adapt and move on. We were all new once…
that eyeball has caused many players agony and confusion. I'll never forget the sheer panic everyone felt as soon as they saw that doom buff and me as the healer felt the pain of throwing all my mp away to raising them

With certain mechanics its totally understandable, its pretty easy to read most mechanics and kinda get a quick understanding but there are a few that are just wtf confusing if you dont read up on it even in the ez raids lol.
Reminds me of a run i had saved where i was the sole survivor of that alliance as a bard. Doom got 6 and the half/half room got the other one right after.
I love how you explain the mechanics of the first boss after you defeated him. Not. As many already said - just explain it with some simple words. We were all sprouts once before. So don't sigh and encourage them instead because you know the mechanics - they don't.
This is WHY, people who calls themselves Veterans, should always give a heads up to these little sprouts. Trust me, I've been in bad raids and everytime we wiped and explained the mechanics after, the run went smoother. So yeh, it's easy to laugh and point out at the sprouts though but people have to keep in mind that players all learn at the different rate.
Had a lot of sprouts in recent higher level raids, and I'm not a dedicated raider. I know when to move, but I don't know attacks by name. It's interesting watching the more experienced raiders quitting after one or two wipes. We get through it most of the time, and I've found a little humor and optimism goes a long way to help everyone keep going.
LMAO! This is probably one of the funniest things I've seen in weeks! And the opening commentary at the start had me laughing like a Jackal. I'm definitely going to have to check out more now. Thank you so much!
The first thing i do as a sprout whenever i get into a dungeon is mention that is my first time there, and usually people will explain strats or i do my runs with a veteran friend who got me into the game in the first place. Surprisingly my crystal tower runs went very well (with the exception of one time where people forgot to chain the dog) and people were very helpfull.
Personally i don't see the pains in just repeating a dungeon.. it makes it more enjoyable to see how a lack of organization can actually wipe 3 alliance groups. Imagine the people malding over one instance yikes.
One absolute vegetable of a healer made 4 Mentors leave EX Titane one after the other. No matter how many times we explained to NOT stand in landslide he was yeeted off at the first or second every single time.
Normal Content. Among other reasons we are rewarded heavily for duty roulette because we will be partied with new players to help them clear content and to keep all content somewhat current. I would never deprive a new player of their first time experiencing a raid or dungeon by expecting them to watch other people play it on youtube or something first. Alas it can be frustrating when people aren't listening to advice and guidance during the run.
Just a note for uploading content of people displaying questionable performance, you might want to set your game so that it changes the way player names are displayed so no one can say you are naming and shaming. Fun video btw.
Yeah I've considered it, not necessarily to make me look less of a bully but to protect the people showcased from undue harassment. For the record: I don't condone that sort of thing. Only I'm allowed to poke fun at people in my videos.

As both a Tank and Healer main. . . I have no words, but never give up dear sprouts. Someday you will be able to clear a savage raid or maybe get an Alexander weapon then show off.

I was very confused cuz I found it hard to even walk, let alone tank XD A few times I got some very aggressive dps and one of my 'friends' told me that i should try playing a dps instead because he didn't think i could tank. I was feeling very sad and finally decided to try another class. I looked at other classes and thought 'hah maybe gladiator would be good?'. I picked it up, leveled it to 20 and then realized it was a tank too. Now I'm doing newest savage raids as warrior 8) I'd say it was destiny.
from tank stance to floor stance, welcome to the world of the drg
Im sprout myself, sometimes when i die because some mechanics of bosses witch i dont know feel bad for my team and thinking dam prob they hate me, but its silent in chat and they are ok and tell how it works, im surprised since in wow you will get kicked, bashed, shouted, glad i started ffxiv not coming to wow back for sure.
Don't feel bad; as you've seen, most of the time people will be understanding and be helpful towards you if you communicate that you're new beforehand. Glad you're enjoying the game!
Well i have been playing for about 4 month and now on stormblood msq. Lets just say that i already experience a lot of game mechanic. But when i back into dungeon level 35 dungeon as a tank idk that the bee can instant kill you if you not kill it first. My point is even though you already have a lot of experience you may miss one or two in this game and sometime make a mistake.but good thing is, the community here are willing to tell you what you must to do and usually a lot of them are pretty chill.
well i mean they get banned if they bash you for it. trust they bashing you in their fc or discord.
to get yelled at or kicked you need to do something so wrong multiple times without reading chat that it actually looks like griefing, like being an off tank and constantly provoke the boss and make him face the group over multiple boss fights.
Of course if people are in discord some will probably talk shit there but it rarely makes its way into group chat, the way roulettes are designed and the sprout symbol above new players heads, people are used to new players unlike wow
@@andrevieri1804 you can stun the bee btw when they cast Final Sting. XD
Also you can stun the raid Aoe of the first boss. You need a good timing and you can do only one stun before the next AoE but if you have a melee in party, basically you can avoid to get doom.
I learn this form a sprout, after 3k of hours btw. XD
Its easy to do stuff when you playing FF for years, but not that easy after 1 or 2 months ingame (at this time players enjoyng whole story stuff and dont actually focus on learning mechanics) Remember one thing, you were sprout too back in the day! And i bet you have also learned to avoid stuff and learned all bosses mechanics. So dont expect new players to know and learn everything in few days.
True, had a pretty bad run of the Orbonne Monastery where one alliance was full of newer players. Alliance B I think, and Alliance C would insult and tell them to leave if any of them died.
tru that probley took me almost a year to get stuff down when i first started and that was back when just stormblood was out.
@@DogInatutu i recently got into a dungeon as a new player myself, one guy asked me to leave because I was garbage (not too far from those exact words) and couldn't learn mechanics after 5 wipes. He was immediately votekicked by the rest of my party. It felt good
I was just getting massive lag spikes that didn't make it easy for me to dodge aoe's that day
I totally agree with you, some seem to forget this.
I got a little trauma playing tank coz some toxic dps 😅
More like only 1 though, but still its hit me
Trust me when I say that even when you get good at healing, this place doesnt get any less painful.
Last time I was in World of Darkness, we spent about an hour in the place. Wiped on the first eyeball boss 5x and every boss after that we wiped at least once. We had over 10 people brand new to the instance. It was painful but everyone stuck it out and pushed through to the end.
if it was around 2 months ago then i think we were at the same instance because that was exactly what happened to me that time and sorry i was one of the new sprouts lol very sorry about that
The sound of Feint Particle Beam thumping down is just Cloud of Darkness’ Timbs stomping on some plants
Also the number of times I’ve seen people get the order of steps wrong to get in Cerberus’ belly is definitely more than 1
my last run a guy said it was going really smoothly and it was but once we got to the last boss it all went downhill, and someone was like "you just had to say that"
It’s funny watching and hearing jaded “veteran” players get mad at a video game.
You think that's bad? You should see Warframe Veterans and Planetside 2 Veterans. That salt is on another level.
that eyeball has caused many players agony and confusion. I'll never forget the sheer panic everyone felt as soon as they saw that doom buff and me as the healer felt the pain of throwing all my mp away to raising them
I do wish they changed it to the health based doom, or at least one you can esuna.
@@Jian13 I agree my main is white mage and things like doom are why esuna is considered useless
I had no idea the eyeball icon even meant anything, I thought it was just a cool visual effect. Took 2 wipes and a 5 min explanation for me to realize T_T
@@Murasame13 Yeah, FF14 doesn't do the best of job explaining LoS AoEs. Especially considering how important LoS AoEs become later on.
@@Murasame13 Yea I think it takes a while to figure it out honestly. That raid was the first time I payed close attention to buffs, so at least it taught me that those can be super important too XD
Big shoutout to the FFXIV community for not getting mad at me when I am a total scrub at a mechanic or boss and fail. For real. Y'all are the true heroes. I def wouldn't get this level of care in WoW
I've legitimately never seen so many dooms in one party on the first boss and.. a wipe to the last one. like wow that's a lot of people who don't know what they're doing! can't blame them too much of course, especially when they're new, but.. impressive.
ya it funny when it does happne the first week in july i had people sping that boss around and killing th whole raid or i would see half the raid get doom and just die makes it hard to rez 7 people of the party when you are the only one alive
I was about to say, the dudes that say meow dont venture out of limsa unless theyre good at the game
I laughed way more than I anticipated:) nice vid!
This is WHY, people who calls themselves Veterans, should always give a heads up to these little sprouts. Trust me, I've been in bad raids and everytime we wiped and explained the mechanics after, the run went smoother. So yeh, it's easy to laugh and point out at the sprouts though but people have to keep in mind that players all learn at the different rate.
crystal tower become very fun lately :)) much wiped, such devastation
Had a lot of sprouts in recent higher level raids, and I'm not a dedicated raider. I know when to move, but I don't know attacks by name.
It's interesting watching the more experienced raiders quitting after one or two wipes. We get through it most of the time, and I've found a little humor and optimism goes a long way to help everyone keep going.
LMAO! This is probably one of the funniest things I've seen in weeks! And the opening commentary at the start had me laughing like a Jackal. I'm definitely going to have to check out more now. Thank you so much!
I love coming back to this video to see the memes on the RDM since he's one of my FC mates and I never let him live it down
Everyone knows their ABCs?
Ofc! Always Be Casting!
RIP alliance, none of them went into the belly
this is legit entertaining to watch! cant wait to see more
The first thing i do as a sprout whenever i get into a dungeon is mention that is my first time there, and usually people will explain strats or i do my runs with a veteran friend who got me into the game in the first place. Surprisingly my crystal tower runs went very well (with the exception of one time where people forgot to chain the dog) and people were very helpfull.
i loved this video so much holy crap. i felt this in my soul.
Instant sub. The editing, the text, the sound effects. I'm rolling.... 🤣
It's the reply of "such devastation" that did it for me 🤣🤣
Watching this as someone who’s only ever played tank I have found new respect for healer mains
Ngl, this video acctually explained the angy eyeball to me and I now play it like a boss. Thankies c:
The meower was the best we had made me laugh, great vid!
loading into world of darkness seeing 6 Viewing Cutscenes, and the relief of being in alliance A
_half the party dying, cats Stone repeatedly_
Me too, man. Me too. It's that point where you're like, I don't know what to do, but I gotta cast something. Why? _Just gotta._
What a rare opportunity to experience they content how it was when everyone was new and under geared
I've genuinely never had a run go this bad, ever, that is a *LOT* of sprouts
I just did my first world of darkness run and wow it kept me in my toes a lot. I did watch a youtube guide about the mechanics before hand since I was a warrior and I unknowingly became the main tank of the entire raid so had a lot of pressure (5 headed dragon was relaxing since I just had to dodge 1 attack while the rest had to deal with his mechanics).
nothing hurts more than explaining mechanics and keeping the party alive and getting no comms - glad you were recognized and appreciated!!
I spent no joke 80 mins in the last EW dungeon, explaining the mechanics all the way and trying to keep the morale high. I had a fun time despite it all but gotta admit it stung I didn't get a single recommendation..........
@@mielikin me, the MT
twice i covered a reaper who kept dying to mechanics
had to use tank LB3 just to save the party from one mechanic
*no commends*
come on man, there were 7 other people
omg loved watching this please share more. also just 2 days ago i got cape westwind in my roulette and didnt notice i was the only non sprout in the party lol. nearly wiped had both tanks a heals and dps on the ground by the end
I personally don't see alot of these from the perspective of a fellow controller player. Nice video and commentary.
And I bid welcome to all sprouts.
My favorite is when people stand in the purple on Cerberus but don't shrink themselves and just get straight up murdered.
This was great. love your editing lol
i love this world of sprouts. The wipe made me feel satisfied.
Man, I had a good laugh 🤣 Reminded me of my time as a lil sprout. Great video 🤣👍🏻
my WoD run as a sprout:
1st time: I got carried hard. Didn't know what to do aside from some vague don'ts and dos.
2nd time: took more time since more than half were sprouts and were new but luckily there was someone that gave detailed instructions on what to do for each of the bosses. Also f*ck that eye.
3rd time and onward: I am doing it to admire CoD boobas
I always hear peter griffin in my head all "look at that side boob" and it makes me laugh Everytime.
Everyday I realize that I've missed so many mechanics that were happening and I just didn't realize. I was always confused by the cloud of darkness fight since it seemed like it never did much attacking besides the big lazer. Only now do I realize in the dozens of times I've done this raid I have never been targeted by feint particle beam and had no clue it existed. I thank my teammates for their sacrifice.
I used to fear runs like this.
Now it gives me joy to clear with sprouts.✨
( I also started making macros to explain bosses faster lol)
A: All in the belly
B: Belly
C: See you in the belly.
I brought the laser marker from the last boss to my team the first time I went to this raid. Instant wipe.
That's when I learned the difference between stack and target markers.
I relate to this so hard! 😂 Nice work!
Ah, this brings back memories…
that bonk caught me off guard, lmao
Even as a sprout myself, I always look up a guide to see the mechanics of a fight so I don’t drag my team down.
In this game if you state that it's your first time most people are gonna explain the mechanics to you
It's up to you obviously, but I feel like discovering a fight as you step in for the first time is an amazing feeling - even if I end up dying because I failed a mechanic
@@sheeeeeeeesh7412 I prefer learning as I go instead of watching a video because it kinda ruins the experience in my opinion. Plus I always tell my party it's my first time and they always clear anything up if necessary.
@@Murasame13 yeah it's the same I do normally, watch a guide and say it's my first time doing it, or do it with a friend while on a voice chat so I can have a bit of support and/or orientation while doing it
I still feel bad about going to my first dungeon without knowing what a tank stance is so I don't want to do that again to any party I encounter
@@ishisshusisusjki8274 Ugh. I hate how every time I go into a dungeon, I forget to turn my stance on, lmao! I'm starting to get the hang of it now, but it can be frustrating. I like to watch short guides so they don't ruin the dungeon for me, but still help my anxiety by showing me what to watch out for.
@@amberlovely1 yeah same! been trying to do dungeons without looking at video guides so I can get used to it tho when it's dungeons, and just warn that I'm new
Despite the considerable death toll, that run wasn't too bad.
More of these videos please. A sprout Dun Scath would be delicious 😋
Dun Scath is definitely big oof
I just look up a guide on what to do before the fight. Being a sprout white mage as well, staying alive and not messing up the mechanics for everyone is my main goal.
My first ever raid was world of darkness as a sprout white mage, I'm not saying I was terrible but the raid took over an hour
I forgot about those eye symbol and glowy pad mechanics. They were introduced in much earlier dungeons and quests.
I never have issues as a healer here but Aurum Vale has seen many deaths due to tanks.
The worst one was a tank who pulled the entire starting room into the boss room and also engaged the boss... needless to say we all died. I was Sage with a surgeon glam. I said "DAMNIT JIM IM A DOCTOR NOT A PHYSICIST" and the tank, he just 'courtesously bowed' lol
When you get in there as tank and the only thing the other tanks are able to do is provoke the living s*** out of the eye. You know that it's going to be fun -.-
This is me with Sage right now AFTER A YEAR OF PLAYING TANKS AND DPS. Dude I’m appreciate regular healers so much I thank them in chat after Rezs now.
"Kevin, Kevin, watch the light dude--watch the light!"
...
*dies*
I'm always glad the CT series was the ONE alliance raid i watched guides for in advance...
Ah yes cloud of darkness, the boss where I play the the game "guess how many sprouts will be deleted by chasing lasers" you get bonus points if its more then the amount of times the spell is cast.
There were also nonsprouts who didnt know the mechanics roflmao
I am that guy
Burger King Mentor screwing up Meteors in 2nd Coils4 like 5 times and then leaving after malding out flashbacks....
6:04 - Was waiting for this part. I expected as much...
World of Darkness [SAVAGE]
My first time I did world of darkness we wiped 10 times to Angra Maimyu and when we finally beat him I had to leave because my family was going out to eat for dinner. Never felt so bad in my life
As both a Tank and Healer main. . .
I have no words, but never give up dear sprouts. Someday you will be able to clear a savage raid or maybe get an Alexander weapon then show off.
"I can only assume I was broken at that point.."
My stomach XDDDD
Honestly if people would just say what to do instead of expecting a new player to know what to do (what kind of logic is that) then these problems would drastically decrease
Last night was my first time through WoD , and I'm honestly surprised I dodged all Dooms my first time. No wipes either, although there were only 3 of us newbies (I think)
The first time i did this fight i used pld, it actually went very well i somehow didn't die once thanks healers
30 seconds in and i feel called out for my greetings
I feel your pain. I know the pain of being a healer in that dungeon SO well! At the very least you didn't die because tanks couldn't keep the eyeball monster in 1 position.
Me when my friends don't tell me the mechanics for anything since it's my first time doing it and they want me to "experience it"
This is way funnier than I thought 😆
I like watching a fellow WHM controller user. \o/
It's not a truly bad WoD run until you see the add phase for the cloud of darkness fight
Ah yes, the floating eye of misery. My worst ever serial wipe was on that raid, and i have done Urth's Fount on duty finder
*stares*
THAT'S WHAT THE PADS ON ANGRA MAINYU DO?!
i like sprouts, it just feels nice when they learn mechanic
lol that was thoroughly entertaining! Im a new white mage & I hope I can do as well as you did!
I just had a run like this last week. Took a full hour to clear since we wiped at the bat boss and everyone in my party kept looking at mortal gaze including my cohealer. Healing as a WHM that night was the best decision I made as I got rouletted there.
This actually looks like a great run.
Wow..... such devastation. It fells like running savage raid
I still like parties of sprouts while healer, good training for anyone thats needing a refresher course in their job. Especially while queuing up for the Aurum Vale.
1:33 I could practically see the JoJo "menacing" letters on screen here, and "menacing" is an understatement.
This... is the funniest shit I've seen. As an AST main, I felt your pain within my soul at Angra's Doom mechanic, lol.
