What's your favourite method to keep snakes away?
Forest fire
Forest fires just won't work. They kill and leave homeless many animals but I doubt many snakes get burned alive because they can slither down any hole or crack in the ground. They aren't far from safety and since heat rises no fire gets hot enough to cook a snake just a few inches underground.
Only you can prevent forest fires.

Lost my dog today, we couldn't figure out why first, we later found a headless snake corpse in the garden. He died a noble death, doing what he always did, protecting the family. Rip Nawab

We have a snake in our garage, and my husband took a horrible fall and got an abrasion on his hand and leg trying to get the snake out of our garage. In his younger day, he used to take them out into the woods and successfully got rid of them. But as he is older, it has been much more of a challenge. I am terrified to get even 10 feet near a snake. One of his problems is that he has garage things overflowing under the cars and nice places for a snake to hide. We did take all the grass seed and anything that could be food for rodents out of the garage and there is no water source and placed them in a storage building that is impossible for snakes or rodents to live in. I am thinking about getting a gasket to put under the garage door to keep snakes and rodents out!
Im going to keep guinea fowl to keep snakes of my farm because i planted some fragmatic plants that cobra get attracted easily
Is there any advice you have to teach my friendly and curious golden retriever to not fraternize with snakes? We moved to Texas and there are a lot of venomous snakes here. He just doesn't know better. They can get in our back. I keep the grass mowed and clutter free. Would a fake owl on the fence work to deter snakes?
I don’t have water p, rats or shelter, mowing my grass found a few babies snake in the grass?
Most snake bites in Australia actually occur because people are trying to kill or catch them. I am here because of a close (VERY close) call with a big Eastern Brown snake today - struck at me before I even saw it. They are blindingly fast and very aggressive so DON'T be a smarty pants with a shovel etc because they will strike faster than you can do anything. I am in the bush so cant remove cover and rock piles but I am reducing water sources by moving water troughs 100 metres downhill, catching any field mice in bucket traps and I am getting a good snake trap which I will use with great care as an extra measure. My silly Heeler will definitely get bitten if he sees one otherwise I would just enjoy seeing them around - magnificent beasties they are. I didn't think there was much first aid for a dog but glad to hear there is - I'll get onto it right away. Many thanks to the lovely Dr Leigh from Mick and Mr Patches :-)

/My cat isn't eating anything for 2 days. He is 6 months old.It is sleeping always. I noticed that its paws(under paws) had become white. I think blood isn't reaching there.It has a little fever. we are giving food forcing. He is shivering slightly. Is there anything that I can do about it?

What we really need is an AI powered robot with thermal vision that will seek out and kill or capture any snake that it detects. An early version of this product might simply alert us to the snakes presence so that we can get rid of it. But eventually I want to kill the damn snake.

Just moved out near the swamps in North Carolina. I was feeding the critters for a while. Until I put a game cam up for a few days. All kinds of predators that could harm our pets. Recently found a very mature black rattler which is considered the most venomous around here. These are good tips that we have started implementing.

No, cinnamon is another myth.
So... you're saying nothing that I spray will work against snakes or repel them.

If it doesn't work and there's no science behind it, why do commercial snake repellent sprays most commonly contain naphthalene as one of the two main ingredients? I know we cannot conflate mothballs with a heavily applied spray.
I ve watch videos where snakes will not cross over garlic & ammonia. Maybe you should look it up .

It's a ridiculous suggestion. Who is going to keep their home surrounded by garlic and ammonia. Not to mention weather.

Keep your yard and shrubs trimmed always. Search for snakes in the yard regularly. If you see one then kill it! Don't kill snakes in the wild.
All snakes are 'in the wild' if you find them in your backyard!
