    They've done more to support Go in 2 months than asus did with Ally in 6, even despite it's popularity.

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому

      Yea, they're doing pretty well on the support end. I still like the Ally, but I didn't follow Rog closely, despite almost buying it, lol. I know that it had deadzone and joystick issues too. It released in June, but that update came in October. The Go released in November and the update came in December. Hopefully we continue with that speed. 🙃

    Can I ask....do you find Hogwarts to be stuttery on the Legion Go? Other gameplay videos I've watched look quite stuttery. Thanks!

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for the kind words 🙃
      Hogwarts Legacy does stutter here and there. Although, I've played it on a massive desktop setup with similar issues. I've tried quite a few things (fixes/solutions) since playing it on Steam, and none have fully removed this. I believe it to be poor PC optimization from the developers, but who knows? It's flawless on the PS5, but I don't even touch my PS5 anymore. 🤣
      The Legion Go handles it pretty well, especially when plugged in. It is not a constant stutter, but it is here and there when you're moving a lot of places quickly (mostly outdoors). I've tuned it out. The FPS doesn't correlate with the stutter either. It's almost as if it's a loading issue. People reference shaders building, and that could be true... it's tough to say.
      The game smoothness seems really hit or miss for different people, which is odd. Some are just lucky 🤔. For the most part, it's pretty damn playable, lol. It looks pretty good (@1600p w FSR 2 or Integer Scaling), even on low settings. I'm surprised how well it plays on this. Hope that helps.

    Nice video dude! Yeah I'm struggling with my aim on cod compared to controller. It's much better now but not perfect. At times it seems to accelerate too much or whatever. I really hope someone can work out if the sensitivity curves can help because it makes a huge difference especially at range compared to on console/pc.

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому +2

      Thanks! I'm not the only one🤣 It's difficult to explain, right? There is something... It just doesn't compare to the precision of using a PS4 controller or something. I'm going to experiment with the sensitivity curves when I can get some free time. I'll post up anything I find. 😀

    Hi Colton and thank you for your video and hard work. Have you ever experienced a complete loss of your controls? My analog sticks, buttons and direction pad would not work until I powered off the Go, detach the controllers, powered on the Go and reattach the controllers. I've read other users experiencing this on Reddit and in the forums. I'm wondering if I should exchange my Go.

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому +2

      Hey, I appreciate the thoughts, thanks. I have not experienced anything like that. The fact that both controls went dead points to something else besides the controllers themselves, most likely. Did you happen to have this after the most recent update (1.0.2.5)?
      I'm just speculating here, but did they shut off in a timing out sort of scenario? They are, apparently, releasing timeout settings in the next update. It's possible some of that code is in the backend of this update. Do you leave the RGB rings on, did they shut off when the controllers stopped functioning? Next time that happens, try holding the Legion keys for 10 seconds to manually turn on/off the controllers. If they were on, they'd go off. If they glitched and shut off, they'd go on.
      Again, guessing, but I'm leaning towards a software issue. If they were missing controls and key presses during games, and if one was more suspicious than the other, I'd say it was hardware. It could be the controller connection shared inside the main device, but who knows? I would pay close attention to timelines, when it happens (if it repeats), what you're doing, etc. If it keeps up, yea... warranty that, lol. I think we have a decent warranty period. Plus, they're pretty good at Lenovo as far as hardware defects, at least in my experience.

      Thank you for the reply and tips. Both controllers stopped working at the same time. This was after the update. The ring light was blinking red on the left controller and completely off on the right side. I checked the FPS switch and it is still set to off. I played Cyberpunk today and it temporarily stopped again. This time I didnt have to shut it down. The controls returned after a short time. I truly like this device because the game performance is amazing and the screen is visually stunning.

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому +1

      Here's what I'd do... and this is because sending stuff back under warranty sucks when you just want to play it 🤣. Go to the Legion Go driver's page. If you're unsure of how, it's similar to this ua-cam.com/video/XDeUsJldgG4/v-deo.html . Go to the "software and utilities" tab. Download Legion Space 1.0.2.3 and install it.
      I am pretty sure the firmware in the controllers is already updated and I'm not sure if it can be rolled back, so this probably won't do a lot. However, it may be worth a shot to test if it stops occurring with the old version (assuming it will let you downgrade Legion Space). Then you can wait for the next update. You'll have to use the Steam input to fix the joysticks again though, lol. I'm also unsure if you can pinpoint the controllers in the device manager and rollback the drivers there. They may be difficult to source. You could possibly query the input device with cmd or a script, but I'm also unable to check any of that at the moment.
      Additionally, one red ring is almost like it's signaling hardware failure codes 🤔... maybe it is, in fact, defective 🫤
      Side note, there's also a diagnostic tool on the website, but I have no clue what it's aimed at. I'm not in the area, and I can't check on mine at the moment. Worst case, you'll have to warranty it out. Good luck

      @@ColtonJ Good morning Colton,
      Thank you very much for the detailed suggestions. I purchased mine from Best Buy. I can still return it but I like the Go. I’m going to try the diagnostic tool you suggested. Hopefully this is a software fix. To my surprise the Legion Go is awesome for fighting games. I was worried about the directional pad but there was no need. It feels great. This is a much better experience over my Steam Deck.
      Thanks again 😀

      BIOS:
      6GB UMA Buffer (VRAM)
      LEGION GO: Option A
      "performance" OS power mode
      "custom" 25W thermal mode | "performance" 20W will give you decent results too
      Native screen resolution (quick menu): 2560x1600
      Refresh Rate: 144Hz
      RSR: OFF
      Integer Scaling: OFF
      IN GAME: Option A (This gives an average of ~ 40-50 FPS)
      Upscale Type: AMD FSR 2.0
      FSR 2: Performance (renders at 800p)
      Upscale Sharpness: 0.4
      Vsync: OFF
      Framerate: 144 FPS
      Motion Blur | Depth of Field | Chromatic Aberration | Film Grain: ALL OFF
      Global Quality Preset: "Recommended" or basically all LOW except "population" High
      LEGION GO: Option B
      "performance" OS power mode
      "custom" 25W thermal mode
      Native screen resolution (quick menu): 2560x1600
      Refresh Rate: 144Hz
      RSR: OFF
      Integer Scaling: ON
      IN GAME: Option B (This gives a higher average of ~ 60 FPS)
      Rendering Resolution: 1280x800 - 50%
      Upscale Type: NONE
      Anti-Aliasing Mode: TAA Low
      Vsync: OFF
      Framerate: 144 FPS
      Motion Blur | Depth of Field | Chromatic Aberration | Film Grain: ALL OFF
      Global Quality Preset: "Recommended" or basically all LOW except "population" High
      Also, plugging it in will bump you 5-10 FPS in a lot of games. You can bump up the global quality settings to medium or high, and it will still run decently. Some areas are just really demanding. I've had it play pretty smoothly. Sometimes I hit 70+ FPS in areas, and then I plummet to 40 in certain convoluted areas.
      I need to experiment more, but I think this ran best with integer scaling. Considering people with absolute beasts of PC's still had endless issues with this game, I'm content it runs fairly well on this little thing. Hope that helps you and others 🙃

    How to revert contoller update ,?

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  3 місяці тому

      This may work:
      Open Device Manager (Right click the windows button to see the option). Go to "human interface devices" and try to uninstall (check uninstall driver if it shows). Also, you could try rolling it back. I don't have my Go with me to check. When you restart, it may load the originals.
      I'm unsure of where to source the original controller drivers.
      Additionally, you can press Legion L + LB + LS to reset the left controller and press Legion R + RB + RS to reset the right controller to factory settings.

    • @ColtonJ

      No, it only flashes the battery percentage briefly. If yours is turning on when you plug it in, are you sure it's fully shutdown and not in hibernate or sleep?

    • @MrSpankey56
      @MrSpankey56 5 місяців тому

      Yes it was on sleep mode have changed it to hibernate when hitting power button seams to have fixed it but the problem was I am trying to charge it in the case with the power hole an I would come back an it would be on an hot from turning on because of plugging it in anyone know any other way to stop it from waking when plugging an un plugging

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  5 місяців тому

      Yea, I definitely wouldn't store a Windows device in a case in sleep mode because it's too unstable on some devices. Hibernate is the way to go. Is it still turning on when you plug it in while it's in hibernate? It should stay off in hibernate.
      I just looked, there's no option that I see in the BIOS to disable this. The quick view of the battery charge didn't change this. Also, boot from USB didn't change this. The typical way is to query the device that's waking it and then disable them via device manager. I disabled them all, it still wakes on sleep.
      I don't have excess time at the moment, but the ports are labeled" USB4 Root Routers." You can disable wake in the power management tab. However, it appears Lenovo's programming overrides this or something.
      As a side note, you can set the power button to hibernate the Go, instead of sleep.
