My favourite genre on UA-cam is ‘watching Ren Reactions’.
As a mental health professional, it was obvious from the very beginning of this performance Art/music that he has experienced more severe mental health problems than most.
His performance is also the best expression of what it is like to suffer such, and yet be able to manage the inner struggles, that I have ever seen, and that the average person can relate to at some level. In other words we can see the “crazy” in a genuine way, and yet still experience empathy, rather than just discomfort. And we like Ren and feel compassion.
True genius! I’ve never seen it done this well by ANY other actor, artist or musician.
I work next to where he lives. Had a party upstairs with work colleagues and he came and joined us. He’s so talented and such a chill guy. Love him

I was thinking: M&M, Plan B, Jamie T, classical guitar, hip hop, rock, opera, performance art, theatre, psycho-drama, poetry? Ultimately it is much more than all those things. By the end, if you're not close to tears you're not listening properly. Powerful, moving, deeply personal, inspiring and ultimately totally unique.

He’s so brutally honest that by the end - it’s hard to bear it. That honesty just breaks me. It’s so rare nowadays… nobody knows what “it” is but that guy got it in spades. He’s a star… rest of us are just catching up.

I have lots of mixed feelings about UA-cam stars and influences being “mental health advocates” since they “influence” others. Ever wonder why so many youth struggle mentally? Maybe it’s because all their favorite influencers coincidentally struggle with it too.
@@JS-.- I mean the dude is like 3 years older than me and I've met him so not the case. It's more relate than influence. He's not an "influencer" he was a street busker. He makes art out of his own experiences, not what you're implying here. It was probably weird phrased but by that I meant he's open in his songs about his psychosis. I'd suggest listening to his work before assumption

Only discovered Ren this week, and i haven:t stopped listening. An amazing talent, a true storyteller and an unbelievable artist.

When I first started watching Ren's video I truly thought "WTF" but I couldn't stop watching. Ren is a very talented Musician, Rapper, Actor and Guitar Player and much more. I was truly blown away WOW!!!

Ren is my alltime favourite artist, and for good reason. Whenever he uploads a music video like this (he has many lol) I just want to scream to everyone I know, "THIS IS REN! PAY ATTENTION."
Been following Ren since the start and all I can say is he is THE most talented artist of this generation. With what he's going through and trying to overcome whilst putting out the sheer brilliance that he does, it's just criminal. Criminal because he's not even 30 and with the health issues he has he doesn't have the ability to put all of his effort into his music and his life in general, yet he still manages to blow the minds of the whole planet. I hope every day that Ren's health improves. We haven't even seen the beginning of what he can achieve.

Ren is an experience! It took me a couple days to regain my conversational skills! For a dark topic somehow he leaves the viewer in a safe place....,.in awe.....taking a moment or two or ten to process all the emotions, goosebumps, every hair on your body standing at attention and your mind utterly blown! It starts to dawn on you that to hough to he subject was dark and your heart breaks for Ren, Ren is already helping you to your feet with the magnificent beauty of his performance. What got me was Ren is so brave to share this with us, it had to have been ,he had the strength to keep it honest, raw, powerful you feel his light, innocence, how it seems he has positive vibes....…
To which your face melts and your respect for Ren begins to grow and grow.

I remember hearing a saying "there is a fine line between genius and crazy" and this horrible thought popped into my head- if that is true how many have we destroyed with as Ren put it "white noise" of pharmaceutical poison?
I am overwhelmed by the experience of Ren, it's like he evokes a physiological response in you that no other musician/music EVER has AND THAT IS ON TOP OF all the almost too many other feelings you are trying to process. I feel honored to have been able to have experienced Ren, and I wholeheartedly feel everyone on this planet be allowed this as well, because somehow he exudes a soothing and healing calm too. Conversations get deeper, more interesting because of the awareness he bestows.

Ren is my beloved underground king! A modern bard! Please, if you could, also react to some of Ren's other songs, especially Jenny's Tale, Screech's Tale, and Violet's Tale IN THAT ORDER. Those songs are a trilogy that tell a specific story, and it won't hit right unless listened to correctly the first time around. They're what put me onto Ren to begin with, and I haven't been the same since

Never listen to a song that made me have so many mixed filling in my head. This song is a reminder that it's important to acknowledge and accept that sometimes we have to seek professional help to overcome our mental health struggles and that it's okay to be ill.

my connection to this song is only the similarity of struggle,,
i'm undiagnosed autistic and have struggled with being a bit weird my whole life i had to start my own business because i had problems holding a job with sleep disorders and high ethics.. but managed to stay in business the last 40 years without needing to advertise or even carry a card, i run a lawn and tree service, a 1st responder thru 40 years of hurricanes in fla ,and do all phases of construction and kind of an inventor on the side, after six years of development i figured out a disaster response product that could help millions worldwide .. then my insurance agent forgot to post a payment back in 2020 and the state took everything i worked the last 40 years for away .. stuck at home like a prisoner i came online and saw people helping others so i started making videos explaining what i was. trying to do to get help, and found out if the platform your uploading to doesn't promote you your just talking to your phone, and then i see stuff like this and get jealous because i will never write a song that gets peoples attn like this. so my chances of bringing my ideas to the world are fading. and it's scary as hell to think of all that could be, but it may all be lost because one person forgot to hit enter on there keyboard.. and my chances of succeeding alone are close to those of getting out of quicksand alone..

So cool seeing you watch this for the first time, and go through exactly the same thought process of sheer amazement at his skills and artistic vision for this piece. I then went on to discover his other music and let me tell you, Jenny's Tale, Screech's Tale and Violet's Tale (in that order if you haven't already seen them) will blow you away. This video was done on next to nothing for a budget. Most of the props were found on site. Ren is more than just a musical genius. Check out the Tale of Jenny and Screech. It's a 13 minute epic. Then check out his video of Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla. And then check out the video for Blind Eyed with Sam and the Angry Car Park Attendant! Ren has range for days! Power is another great song that feels somewhere between old-school and new-school rap. He's also had a great busking career with The Big Push. I'm so happy to see more people finding Ren, there's really no one out there like him right now.

Ren Gill is an English musician known for his collaborative music work with other singers. Ren became severely ill with Lyme Disease. He continued his music career being bedbound.

He's from Brighton uk. Started out on the streets busking. He hits every genre of music and slays it. He's been in the band called the big push and done duet work several other amazing artists. Including Sam Tompkins chinchilla. Ugh I'm missing one. One the missing artists I can't come up with. They sing together on a song called "humble" Ren to me seems to want to build artists up that have talent. Give them a voice . He spent a good portion of his life suffering through an illness that almost killed him. Lymes disease. His ability to convey his inner turmoil through his music is un matches and incredible. Ren is an amazing artist; he plays multiple instruments and has great vocal ability. I am glad you have decided to check more of him. I would suggest you also listen/react to his musical collaborations with Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla, his solo street performances, as well as his street sessions as a member of "The Big Push," which really showcase his vocal and instrumental skills.
