You will have an extremely tough time removing the baffles without this tool. My very first cleaning, I had only shot 40 rounds through the can. When I got home, I opened it up and the baffles were stuck in there. I tried using a dowel rod and a rubber mallet, but they barely moved. I went out and bought a can of Kroil, then sprayed it down on the inside. Then let sit for about 45 minutes. It loosened up the baffles enough for me to hammer them out.
After washing off the baffles with water, I put them in a ziplock bag with CLR. Then, placed the bag in an ultrasonic cleaner with hot water for about 15 minutes. After that, I used an old toothbrush to scrub the inside tube with Dawn soap and the Kroil already on the tube. Washed everything, then dried off with paper towels and a can of air duster. MAKE SURE to clean all the threads and lightly oil them. Qtip works great, but blow out fibers. I definitely underestimated how caked on that carbon would be after so few shots.
