    Two quick corrections.
First 2:50 TTI does NOT own AEG. TTI licenses the AEG name from it's owner Electrolux.
Second 3:44 it is NOT a case of Emerson marketing TTI tools branded w/ their own RIDGID name.
TTI licenses the RIDGID name from Emerson for use on line of orange colored midgrade power tools, tool boxes and other accessories they design, manufacture & market.
Emerson still makes and sells very high quality red colored RIDGID tools marketed to tradespeople & businesses including cordless power tools that use a different battery platform than the orange TTI tools.
Further adding to the confusion Emerson makes and sells various orange colored RIDGID products such as vacuums & extension cords.

6:03 definitely more battery vibration in the older model

2:30 A teardown would be great. I'm guessing same gearbox with the AEG using some cheaper parts in places and the Milwaukee having a higher powered motor.

@@BoltahDownunder well ive had milwaukee tools fail to perform tasks and some that went up in smoke on tasks where i had to grab a ridgid in order to get the job done.

I have one of the old AEG machines... It is a 2020 model however there is an issue with the drill starting. I suspect it is the capacitor has failed and not giving that extra push to get the drill working. I can switch the gearbox onto drill and spin the drill manually to get it going... Not really and impressive outcome for a 4 year old drill.

Emerson isn't licensing AEG. TTI is licensing the Ridgid name from Emerson. If you buy a Ridgid tool, it all goes to TTI, not Emerson (unless there's a per unit fee in the contract). Hopefully Emerson eventually pulls the licensing deal so we can just have AEG globally. Then we just need to get rid of the Hikoki/Metabo HPT boondoggle (which is 10x worse in terms of confusion).

Hmmmm wonder why they did that rather than just launching AEG in that market?

@Boltah Downunder must have thought it would sell better. Known American brand vs obscure german brand.

@@BoltahDownunderHome Depot stores is the middle man, they license the brand name from Emerson and contract TTI to manufacture *most* of the power tools. Notably Emerson still makes the wet/dry vacs in orange special for HD, and the real Ridgid hand tools in red are available in the plumbing isle.

    Team orange - Fein
    Team red - Hilti
Team yelow - Atlas Copco. AEG blue Germany used to manufacture rotary hammers for Atlas Copco...
Team blue - Festool, BHC 1.8J like Hilti TE 4 A22, the best for 5 to 8 or even 10mm so as to not get the holes larger then the bit, but a little slower from 10mm vs a 2.4J one.
Team cyan/teal - Makita some models are crap, but some are the best.
Before 2005 when Milwaukee was a US brand, used to make some of the wost rotary hammers, like stupid bad. Chinesium design and made Milfucky is better, but still chinesium. All brands including Hilti, Fein, Makita, are less reliable now compared to Hilti and Makita from the '90s up to 2007, but even if some including Hilti are made in China or with parts made in China, not all are chinesium design like TTI...Milfucky is no heavy duty - 2 years max on pro use compared to decades after decades for good Duss, Makita, Hilti, or even Bosch blue heavy duty, but all new ones including Bosch so coled heavy duty written on them - are not realy heavy duty any more, 2 years of use or even 1 year for so coled heavy duty models it's the norm today...

Fortunately I worked with most of those brands (sds and sds max. on construction sites).Makita is close to Bosch, not better,Bosch lasts longer.Hilti is excellent (not same quality anymore).Miwaukee never had good these machines,Duss is the best.Dewalt is good and Fein never make sds and sds plus machines.Old AEG was excellent quality.

      @@dusanmilojevic3017 Fein has the BH 18 and ABH 18 , cordless 18V SDS plus rotary hammers, 2J @ 4400 IPM @ 1200 RPM.
We use Makita HR 2440 and 2450 from 2004, HR 2470 from 2010, HR 2630 from 2015, plus DHR 241 from 2015, and Bosch GBH 2-24, 2-26 and 2-28 from 2004 and 2008 and 18V-26 from 2021, all are used to drill daily 10 to 46 holes 8x50 and 10x60 in concrete, sometime very hard concrete 400. All Makitas work fine with no service other the changing the plug, even the 3 HR 2470 we have not just the 2440, 2450 and 2630. All Bosch also still work but all with multiple major service done, and two of them can't be used without hammering anymore and need major service again. We also have 2 Hilti from 2008 that after 4 years and over the 2 year waranty are wey too expensive to mantain and not working for the last 9 years...I have in my personal colection bought new Makita HR 2450 and DHR 241, Festool BHC 18 and Hilti TE 4 A22, and I use them from time to time.

@@loochan325When I wrote Fein never make sds and sds max machines I meant Fein doesn’t make them (just sells under their name).I worked in company (electrical installation) from 2008 to 2013,most of our machines where Makita and except Makita HK 0500 (best light weight chipping hammer),Bosch GSH 388 none couldn’t make over one year without breakdown.Makita always first (tool holder).Personally I’m using Maktec (now Makita mt) because because I like it more than small Bosch.Don’t do electrical installations anymore so I don’t need big machines and when I buy cordless sds hammer it will be Bosch because I’m on Bosch battery system.

@@dusanmilojevic3017 Maktec were OK for hobby but MT are crap, avoid those. The color is nice, but the parts are crap. And even some of the Makita cyan are crap now, now being from 2008 onwards, like also is the case for Bosch blue. We don't do chiselling, just drilling for furniture fixing, 8x50, 10x60, plus random 6x40 and pretty rare 12mm. In 20 years we needed 14 and 16mm two or 3 times for 4 holes in the ceiling, but we need to drill in concrete almost dailly, sure sometimes is just plasterboard or bricks, but almost daily we find concrete and even very hard concrete 400. About cordless SDS sure, Bosch 18V-26 or the newer 187 Li look more reliable compared to DHR 243 that is crap. I know a guy that use GBH 180Li 2J and is fine, I'm not sure about long term use. Festool BHC 18 and Hilti TE 4 A22 lock nicer and are good but are more expensive. DHR 241 is longer and slower from 10mm and up. The sistem is never a real problem, the more sistems the better, and even one manufacturer has like 7 ore more sistems. 18V 2Ah is not realy the same sistem as 4Ah and not as 5Ah and not as 8Ah and 12. I would not use a 8 or 9A charger to charge 2Ah pack...I would not use 5 or 8Ah for a light drill driver and even de 4 Ah procore is too heavy with 535g the pack only. 8Ah pro core is good up to 88A current so not realy the same sistem as e 20-23A 2Ah pack, or 44 4Ah or 46 5Ah. I use more 10.8V/12max GSR 12V-15, 12V-15FC and 10,8 2 Li that is the same as 12V-15 without the light retarder, and 12V-35 and FC. We use 18V-55 and 18V-50 so coled heavy duty, with both 2Ah and 4 Ah pro core, but are not realy heavy duty, from 8 units two died after 1 year and is not worth the repair, with electronics both on the stator and on the mainboard...Bosch has an aliance now with others to use the 18V procore, including Fein and others, but is still new and not enough used. Mafell is on the Metabo platform with weird back clamping, Makita don't use 21700 for 18V coz' the 2x18V tools lack the necessary space or something, the 40max 2,5Ah is like a 18@ 5Ah and the 4Ah has 21700 but some that are wey weaker at current then 18650 2.5Ah... For multicutter I have Fein, Festool, Makita, Bosch but I use more 10.8V /12max Parkside coz' is more compact and the second one from 2014 has the fast tool change and the Bosch GOP 28 is not updated even today even if Bosch and Fein are on the 3rd gen for years on the 18V, Fein has it on 12max but is bulkyer...and so on....

Scrolling though your older videos I find this one. I own the RIDGID R86712(AEG A18 FRH) I see on the AEG the right side of the body (where the screws are) it's a different design. The US version doesn't have the rafter hook attachment spot. Kind of a shame the RIDGID version left that part off of them.
