QUESTION OF THE DAY: Would you use this tool more often with a SDS-plus rotary hammer drill bit or a chisel bit? Do you have a method to prevent silica dust?
As a handyman I highly recommend Ridgid tools all day every day. With lifetime warranty you just can’t beat it. You get the most ever bang for your buck. Just don’t be lazy and forget to register every single piece of the tool sets.
That works great for drilling and putting a Chiesel in it very versitle and seems like it has plenty of power thanks for the great test and awesome review
This is one of the tools I will keep corded, for now. I use a corded Hilti unit and I wouldn't change it. Cordless is fine if you're just drilling a few holes for tapcons or something , but if you need to do some serious chiseling/holes bigger then 1/2 or anything your gonna be going through batteries like crazy.
I'd like to take the 9Ah battery and see how many 3/4" holes it would do on a single charge. I also own a corded Hilti. I should compare them against each other.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Honestly I use mine more for chipping away old tile, brick and concrete way more then drilling holes and it can be used for extended periods like that which would kill batteries for sure. I would be verrrry surprised if it didn't. Very. Lol
I can see it working well for that. I've also seen a pointed chisel that I'm thinking about picking up. I'm hoping it breaks concrete better than the 1.5" tip.
@@MarkThomasBuilder I have the Makita 23lb demolition hammer for bigger work. The bull point and 1inch chisel are awesome. I took down 14,000lbs of brick in a floor to ceiling fireplace with this little 2.5lb Hilti last year. lmao. It's a champ.
I've only installed 4' ground rods on new construction homes with fresh backfill dirt, so it was easily done with a sledge hammer. I think this will work in some soils, but I can't say for sure.
This one really does a nice job. I haven't tried the Milwaukee SDS yet. Here's another video paired with the Milwaukee HEPA Vac and attachment. ua-cam.com/video/8_IMcYcXL_s/v-deo.html
Who cares where it’s made. It works good and has way better warranty than Bosch or any other brand out there. Even if others perform a bit better… at the end of the day I’ll just get a replacement, other will have to buy the entire tool again at full price.
You should try to cut a Groove out of concrete and see how well it chips out the centerpieces I just did that for some direct burial wire I cut a trench or my grinder trolls from Holes with my rotary hammer the news that same shipping blade to take out the center and it worked pretty well yes I was using Milwaukee SDS Plus rotary hammer it should do the same job😷🍻🍺
As a Sr. Repair tech I don't recommend ridgid or ryobi both are cheap and break easily! Stick to bosch. I've been repairing tools for 10yrs please take my advice.
@MarkThomasBuilder that would be awesome 👌 hilti is also a good brand. However I don't service them they don't like to sell parts they rather you send the tool to them.

markthomasbuilder I think Bosch makes a drill bit that you can attach to a shop vac

Great advice!

You bet, thanks!
This is the best tool in my tool box,
I was just using this a few weeks ago and was reminded of it's awesome power!
All bit size ?
Have you tried shaving off any bolt heads (1/4" or bigger) with this yet? I assume it would cut pretty well, but haven't tried it on mine yet.
Either you're using the chisel bit upside down or I am. Lol
Anybody have any info on this? I can't find any.
If you flip the dial there's a stop between rotary hammer and chisel. It let's you freely move your bit into place
Thanks, I'll give it a try next time. 🙌
Thanks! This was actually the one piece of info I came here for. Was like … “what the …” with the chisel blade at a 2 o’clock / 8 o’clock position.
I have mostly rigid tools and battery would this work good for chipping/chiseling concrete off a concrete mixer truck?
It will get some of it off. I'm thinking the buildup is pretty intense on a concrete mixer, so you may need something a little bigger.
I need someone!!! I like It!

Will this rotary drill work to put a ground rod

Is the Milwaukee SDS better or worth the upgrade for certain applications?

Looks like the Bosch rotary hammer. How can someone read specs from the box but not cover where it is made?
Who cares where it’s made. It works good and has way better warranty than Bosch or any other brand out there. Even if others perform a bit better… at the end of the day I’ll just get a replacement, other will have to buy the entire tool again at full price.

Sounds like an interesting idea. I think it would install a small trench in there.
does the lifetime warranty apply to profession use?
I don't recall seeing any exceptions on the warranty for pro use.
Has anyone had issues when set to drill mode and when it is under heavy load, it acts like it is in hammer drill mode?
I haven't noticed that, but will keep an eye out for it.

I will say though, those "concrete" block are junk compared to regular hard concrete. They ard just cast molded, not all that hard.

If they do break, Ridgid offers a lifetime service agreement.
@MarkThomasBuilder so does everyone else buddy get bosch there more reliable of tools
I'm hoping to bring some new Bosch tools on the channel soon. It's been a while.

I can make videos on repairs and send to you
