I'm so happy that I found this series and thanks you genuinely one of the top anime this season. I have to say it on par with Danmachi and surpasses it that is until we see new Danmachi season. An absolute masterpiece from start to finish. By far the best animation of the summer, I can’t wait for season 2!
It was a fun ride for sure. The animation was spectacular, and the final story arc in the dungeon, and the major reveals in the past couple of episodes have certainly elevated it.
I still personally put Danmachi on top, even when just comparing the first seasons alone. The secondary characters in Danmachi are far more developed and interesting. The story is more original, which is one of my criticisms at the start of wistoria. There are so many shonen cliches and the "magicless MC". Fortunately, that has changed with the dungeon storyline. I personally put the confrontation between Bell and Minotaur way higher than anything in Wistoria. The emotional weight behind it and its importance for Bell's character growth is bonkers, solidifying why I prefer Bell as a MC. Granted, all this is just personal preference.
I will give credit where credit is due, though. The animation here is way better than Danmachi, and the music is just as good, if not better. The establishment of future plotlines and mysteries is better put together here as well.
This series, for me, is better than danmachi…

When I saw Finn for moment I though this was Wistoria and Danmachi crossover even the look of the character and VA is the same. He even made the headmaster swear and bit caution of him. Makes you think that Wyll is definetly vital for what comming. Lihanna's gluttony was funny to find out about, seeing her be all bubbly definitely changed my perspective of her 😂 & on the contrary I thought Julius needed to stfu several times.
Maybe Wistoria is the post Danmachi, where the Gods were exiled, sealed or wiped out by inter dimension, world colliding war? 😅

@@musictovibewithsomany1212 Wistoria's dungeon seems more extreme and dangerous, compare to Danmachi, their dungeon is more grounded and easier.
We also saw Lefiya and Filvis during the tournament. Both are characters of danmachi as well. Reincarnation is also something significant in the Danmachi series. So maybe reincarnations?
I already knew there would be _SOMETHING_ that would be off with Lihanna's "student council president" vibe since that's usually what happens with this archetype in anime and manga, there's always a catch, _but her being a big ol' cute bottomless little gobber was absolutelly endearing!_ :3 You just end up WANTING to spoil her, even just a little more! (poor Colette got her hands full being the most mature out of the bunch 🤭)
Finn looks just like will except Finn has blonde hair, but I'm definitely intrigued about knowing More about him

Looking forward to the additional questions and answers in the next season. Finn seems to be part of a tenuous alliance with the "wands" and that crystal Will used was not explained either, just sayin'. Waiting impatiently for season two.

Wistoria wand and sword was good action fantasy anime for me and i give this anime 8.88 out 10 ratings !
Is no one going to talk about how Finn is carrying an oversized bag just like Lili does?
Yes ik this is made by the same creator as Danmachi, but that subtle nod to when the Finn of Danmachi tried to court Lili is nice.
in the words of M. Night Shamalan in robot chicken "WOW! What a tweest?" Will seems to be the son of the "supreme Goddess" that is destined to break the seal for righteousness. the baddies want to break it for nefarious reasons. This series was 10/10 in quality from the Action, VA's and animation, there are some holes that need to be filled but we'll probably get to see that in S2. Wistora and loosing heroines didn't have to go so hard with the movie level of production but i'm greatful that they did.
The Finn stuff is going to be interesting. Will gathering all those friends around him and pushing them forward to get stronger is going to be a fun watch. We end this series on a high note. Up next Danmachi S5 where will and Bell get truck-kuned and swap places.
The fact that the principal was sweating in front of Finn's presence says everything. Just their whole interaction was so tense. I'm so looking forward to season 2. Will maybe being from their tribe sounds possible. Finn did jump down from that height without issue and carried that heavy bag. Also funny enough Will was the party's "supporter" at first as he himself was carrying a big bag with all of their things.
It would be one hell of a twist if Finn was actually the exact Finn from Danmachi.
And the "Swords" they are referring to the Adventurers blessed by gods that explore the dungeons. So Will is effectively using abilities instead of Magic.
Would be pretty awesome to see both stories get tied together, especially considering an overarching danger in the sky (rogue gods?).
I know this is just a pipe dream, but still cool to think about.
If you think about the Headmistress and Finn's conversation. He said im in charge of the sword. And who uses swords? Its the drwafs. So if you're in the magic side telling Finn about Will is like giving the drwafs a weapon against the mages. And we know how much problem Will poses. And the headmistress doesn't want that. But then Finn said but im gonna meddle in this business now. He probably wants to train Will in swordsmanship. Basically the Headmistress has to brute force Will's case to climb up the tower. Else Finn might just come to Will and train him as a swordsman. Basically two political factions want Will in the current situation 😅.
The plot thickens 🔥
I can say this, the anime did end off on chapter 21 out of 45 of the manga. Interesting that the author has two series under their belt with a character named Finn in it.
Add to the fact that the Finn from Danmachis VA also voices this Finn as well
It almost makes one think the character was made for the VA, lol
I think Ed knows something more about Will after he saw that flaming sword.
I loved the way they wrapped up the first season and will about to graduate and get the viewer excited for the next progression with Will and the crews story.

👏👏👏👏👏👏 This was a great finale and season I can’t wait! So many questions to ask and just so much to anticipate for the future. I’m so happy I was right about this, I knew I was gonna love it, I saw some say it’s just black clover, mashle with a sword but i knew it was going to more. I’m glad I had faith in my opinion, hands down my favorite anime of the season. And honestly if it continues like this, it’ll be my second favorite anime for me. Still not there yet to top Shadow for me yet, but damn well near close to it.
Fantasy Lovers have been eating really well lately. the announcement of season 2 at the end of this latest episode and the huge announcement yesterday of Season 2 for Frieren have me so happy
Now of course comes the hardest part... the waiting.
This whole season quite literally felt like a movie
its good. but... not really tbh only episode 1 and part of episode 2 did.. the rest had many..issues and mid animation with still plenty good moments no doubt. but due to the rush imposed on animators it suffered alot

This series was fun to watch, and a season two announcement at the end was just more than good news. The recap was pretty nice, I mean, I did rewatch just that scene last week anyways - so no complaints from my side watching it again. Julius, man, I wanted to give that cat some head pats after she finally messed him up. Also, Finn... For me, he somehow gave me instant Lili vibes from Danmachi. I mean, hooded coat, absurdely large backpack, small build, supporter class... Basically her male counterpart. But, that was probably just me, I guess?! Kinda curious what he's up to with Will in the next season. I hope for some extended sword training, after that little close range speech with the principal who literally started sweating immediately upon being questioned....

I'm more interested in Finn and headmaster have some kind of history/rivalry that maybe has been for decades. And from the poster we'll get the answer for who's Finn in S2.
Oot for a sec, manga reader please answer what Magiavander does? I mean their jobs. For headmaster she's obviously paper work organizing assigning staff etc. For the professors we saw their office/labs. But Magiavander, what are they doing exactly?
They mentioned several times that Magia Vander's duty is to keep maintaining the barrier.

I was skeptical of this when starting this, but quickly fell in love with this anime.
Plus where is the What Will Be Watching Fall 2024?
It would be interesting if this story and Danmachi were connected. Though so far there hasn’t been a mention of any gods so it’s more likely these are two separate stories based off of what the anime has shown so far. Source readers don’t say anything about how right or wrong that statement is. Anyway as for the season itself, FANTASTIC! This was definitely one of my favorite new anime of the summer season. Will was a grate main character and I liked how he stepped up to everyone that challenged him and proved the only magic he needed was the magic of these hands. Can’t wait to get more from this story that while isn’t unique, is very satisfying to watch.

By the way Finn described his tribe (sword wielders who are dungeon experts)... it truly sounds like Will absolutely belongs with them. Yet, as the headmistress said, Will is a sword who wants to be a wand. Really looking forward to seeing how this plays out in the future... and I'm really looking forward to diving into the manga in the next week or two (after I finish a couple of books that I have ahead of it).
What got me scared was that the Headmistress was *sweating* when Finn confronted her face to face about that. 😐 _And he was sweating NONE._ This motherf*cker Finn must really be capable of killing her if he felt like it.
I'm glad she still defended Will's case of wanting to ascend the Tower, but _MAN, you can tell Finn's not gonna make things easy._

I'm happy for the season 2 announcement sure like everybody else, seem like this episode was quick and yet for filling. I hope we don't have to wait 3 years for the next season.
well season 2 was well already in production before because there were leaks a couple of months ago saying it had been green lit for production so if were going off of that and like brandon said probably wanted to keep the same team to work on it maybe the latest we get it is late 2026 so Summer or fall of that year if things go smooth if not then maybe early 2027
Will, Sion and Colette skedaddling after Professor Workner caught them fighting was soooo good! XD It's one of those very brief moments that you just love because it reminds you they're really all just kids in need of supervision. *Me thinks Bootleg Snape is also growing a hidden respect for Will's ability,* or at the very least taking it more seriously.
*But yeah man, that confrontation between the Head Mistress and the little Finn fellah was bone chilling and entertaining!* 😅
You could tell if there wasn't some sort of alliance going on right now, those two would've been throwing hands over whose faculty should've been the one to mentor Will. _Also, the whole "wand is your area, sword is my area" feels like a VERY sensitive topic._
We still also know nothing about those two psychopaths that unalived those poor 20 Professors and Expert Mages down there, I hope Season 2 will provide at least more hints towards what the hell their goal is or what organization (if any) do they work for.
Anime of the year for me, that's not saying much because I don't pick up currently airing stuff.

Wistoria is what I wanted Danmachi’s story to be. A true to the novels bit that gave the characters form. Animation was amazing as well.
Another nice vid! Well, Will is the prototypical "Chosen One" and he probably is able to handle or use magic, not like the mages or magicians, but as a conduit who can manipulate it in order to be use. Which is seems to me that is what he did with Scion's spell and bonded it with his sword. We have to remember on the flashback in EP11, the 2 ladies, the one giving what seemed to be Will, over to the other one. She mentions, that it was what "she wanted for the future of their world" or something along those lines. Can't wait for season 2, hopefully we'll get see it by next late spring or late summer!
I typically don't enjoy stories like this where a magicless kid goes to a magic academy, because it's like dude just go to a sword school or knight academy or something! But I was pleasantly surprised by this series, and its justification for having him attend and im looking forward to more
It is my assumption that Will’s friend might have knowledge about Finn’s tribe. Maybe he’s apart of it as well
When I heard the Light Sage being voiced by Hakurou's VA, I knew that something big was coming. This author loves big backpacks too. Being a supporter is a tough job in his dungeons.
I cannot wait for the next season to begin.
Its just as simple as that.
As far as the mystery behind Will. I can make some sense of it by adding two and two together,
but there are still questions as to how Will really became orphaned from the start, and eventually
receiving a clue from an just introduced source, that may explain how this came about.
Also, I love the conflicts between friends, rivals, and factions. Especially the candid conversation
between our blended party members that nearly died, until our last hope arrived in a nick of time.
But unfortunately our unknown enemy also have acquired what they are looking, and it appears to
be a piece of a weapon called the "Mage Killer", which is something so deceptively disturbing as to
what it will do against a spellcaster in general.
I cannot wait until the story actually expands, so that the story itself can unlock many mysteries and
mishaps. Who knows??

Kept seeing your reviews for this show, and finally decided to jump in when ep 4 was airing. One of my faves this season! Can't wait for S2
yet another danmachi character added, back in episode 5 we saw filvis challia and lefiya at about 6 min 30 seconds in, and now we've had a possible finn deimne appearance
considering how similar they all look to the danmachi counterparts, I'm hoping that this world is somehow connected to danmachi
spot on review and couldnt have said it better. i'll have to check out this DanMachi series...
Season 1 and 2 of danmachi is good but seasons 3 and 4 is peak

This series is not only amazing but very well polished. They would've been crazy not to deliver a season 2
There was a bit of filler in this episode but I don't mind it tbh. Mostly just stretching out a few scenes from the manga. Really glad they did it or else this season would have ended on a...shall we sat unsatisfying note. Won't spoil anything just would have been a terrible place to end a season without seeing what a next episode would hold.

It will not be the first time we see two difference series to be connected like this.
At the point in the manga, there's no real hint as to who Fin is. Only thing he seems to want is Will and his abilities. As for the series, this show didn't even cover the entire Prologue this season.
