Amouddou TV 050 | Tamouda civilization and the cave of 'TAHT LGHAR

Some ancient Moroccan cities have known a history full of achievements dating back to prehistoric human civilizations, as is the case with the ancient city of 'Tamouda'.
'The Natural History' book written by 'Pliny the elder', who died in the year 79 AD, is the oldest text mentioning the city of 'Tamouda'.
He reported that it was overlooking a navigable river linking the city to the Mediterranean Sea, and a port that has no trace left today.
The archaeological remnants that were found in this site highlight the high level of civilization reached by this city during the second and first centuries BC.
However, the time of glory is over and the city of 'Tamouda' fell into a deep slumber under the rubble, until the shovels of archaeologists woke it up to reveal some of its secrets and hidden items to us.
The 'Taht Lghar' cave is also considered among the archaeological sites that knew the settlement of ancient civilizations in the north of Morocco, and is located about 10 kilometers south of the city of 'Tetouan'.
In 1956, the Spanish researcher 'Luis Miguel de Taradell' made excavations inside the cave of 'Taht Lghar', which resulted in revealing the human presence in it for at least 10 thousand years ago.
Then came the studies of the National Institute of Archeology and Moroccan Heritage to confirm that the site actually knew very ancient civilizations.
