Agree. I would love to see that roof go up on the house. It was so close to being done too. I feel like everything started to ebb off when the split in the sewage line occurred. It's sad because it was such a beautiful and passionate project. A lot of us contributed to the Gofundme as well and I thought that would help keep things going.
@Seelieness I think the contractor doing the Millport for the roof injured himself pretty bad, and that happened when the lustrous got busy, probably just a lot of bad timing.
Hi Kaleb, I fully appreciate how much time goes into putting together a YT post, and I understand first the wish to run to the finish line on the Lustro and second the need (in all ways) to sometimes take a step back and recharge your batteries: mental, emotional and physical. A lot of the UA-camrs that I follow have taken a little break recently for this very reason. You know by now (I hope!) how invested most of us are in you and Kim, and completely understand - delighted to have you back for thus update!

I’ve never seen that clever Dishmaster and I was a kid in the 1950’s. Those television sets looked familiar….the first thing we watched on our set was President Eisenhower in a parade! That and a lot of Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs. Anything that made my dad laugh was a good thing. 😅 Thanks for this very interesting vlog. My linoleum was laid in 1979 and it still looks brand new after I use the correct product on it. Quick Shine Multi-Surface Floor Finish. I was afraid to use it for fear I would slip on it wearing socks but it is not slippery and looks beautiful.
Running any type of channel or account with a certain popularity takes its toll at some point, even if people are supportive and positive. Speaking from experience. Taking time off is vital to ensure the longevity of the channel! Take care Caleb, and don’t feel bad for needing a time out.

Same here, checked facebook, instagram, but found no younger post than pictures from work at the Lustron house 6 Weeks ago. I follow Kaleb and Kim´s incredible work and journey for around 2 years, I guess and though Kaleb esomehow xplained that it´s difficult to do all the different work at his Dads house, work for neighbours and their own gem, including posting regular videos, I´m also starting to worry. Hope they are sound and safe.
Give the guy a break. He was gone for five weeks before posting this, it's probably for the same reason he is gone now. Our job is to keep waiting until he's back. Of course we miss him, but that's why the next video will be extra special

We have vct tile in our kitchen and family room. It’s an instant mid mod look and easy to care for. And at time of installation $3 per square foot !!!Can’t beat that. We chose alternating stripes of grey and black. Still in love with it almost 10 yrs later :)
Take good care of yourself - everyone can get burned out. Now you know what it feels like, it's good to recognise the symptoms and stop yourself from letting it happen again. As you get older, it starts hitting you harder & harder and you carry it with you even after you "recovered" so be careful - don't ignore your body's signs that you need rest.

One of the Des Moines lustrous had a huge tree fall on it from a tornado recently. It lost its whole roof sadly but surprisingly the structure held up pretty well for what I saw in pics

I'm not loving the colour of the lino, but it's your house and period authentic. The replacement windows are looking fab. We call the two pane windows double glazing. It's great to see that you can manage two projects with so much dedication. I've always admired your decision to live in and renovate a Victorian mansion, let alone run a channel at the same time. We had a historic house built in 52 that had grand wood paneling with those asbestos tiles but we had to remove them. We ended up putting down matching oak flooring. The house was like living in a mid century museum. Loved it!

Don't force yourself to work through burnout, you'll just lose your enthusiasm. Take a step back from the channel if you need to catch your breath. We'll still be here when you feel like posting again. The Lustron is looking fantastic so far. That doorbell reminds me of the one my grandmother used to have, although I think that was more 70s than 50s.
I understand how it is to juggle so many things in one's life. No need to apologize. The more we can do, the greater we feel a sense of accomplishment. In the end, though, we have to balance work and play. Play for me includes making music, art, and crafts, not to mention gardening. Keep up the good work, and display gratitude that you have so many skills.
I LOVE that kitchen sink! That kitchen exhaust fan is awesome, too. Very effective, had one in our kitchen growing up. We put VCT in our 1960's kitchen and we love it. It's recycled ("green").
Such amazing progress in the short time since I was there. Everything is really coming together and it looks fantastic. This will be an incredible experience for those lucky enough to get to come stay at the Lustron house. The attention to detail is remarkable. And that kitchen sink with the Dishmaster- I am old enough to have used on when I was younger. I'd forgotten all about them. Your dad's ability to find such unique touches is mind blowing. My understanding is that linoleum has been available since the 1870's. Our bathroom still has its original linoleum from1894.

I saw you (briefly) and your dad on a local newscast a few weeks back! They were mainly focused on the pink hippo but I was so impressed with all you have accomplished! Sometimes, we need a break. Sometimes, when we have too many things demanding our attention, we need to step back, step away, and just breathe. I’m glad you took some time. We had a historic house built in 52 that had grand wood paneling with those asbestos tiles but we had to remove them. We ended up putting down matching oak flooring. The house was like living in a mid century museum. Loved it!

Don't force yourself to work through burnout, you'll just lose your enthusiasm. Take a step back from the channel if you need to catch your breath. We'll still be here when you feel like posting again.
The Lustron is looking fantastic so far. That doorbell reminds me of the one my grandmother used to have, although I think that was more 70s than 50s.
I understand how it is to juggle so many things in one's life. No need to apologize. The more we can do, the greater we feel a sense of accomplishment. In the end, though, we have to balance work and play. Play for me includes making music, art, and crafts, not to mention gardening. Keep up the good work, and display gratitude that you have so many skills.
Relax and enjoy life. It can be to short. What you have done is fantastic. 😊😊

I LOVE that kitchen sink! That kitchen exhaust fan is awesome, too. Very effective, had one in our kitchen growing up. We put VCT in our 1960's kitchen and we love it. It's recycled ("green").

Such amazing progress in the short time since I was there. Everything is really coming together and it looks fantastic. This will be an incredible experience for those lucky enough to get to come stay at the Lustron house. The attention to detail is remarkable. And that kitchen sink with the Dishmaster- I am old enough to have used on when I was younger. I'd forgotten all about them. Your dad's ability to find such unique touches is mind blowing. You are so committed to everything you do. What a great role model for your generation. And when you need a break - Galveston is there for you.
