I didn't realize everything stays was also included in it because all I saw was "drift away" and then I almost cried when I heard it play-
For me, it was the opposite: Everything Stays is the one that gets me ;v;
ME TOO I was like “this doesn’t sound like- O H”
It actually gave me physical chills and I cried when I heard it for the first time. It’s such a beautiful duet and it hit waaaaayyyy too close to home with everything stays

lmao, honestly i had (almost) nothing against rose/pink for awhile until the movie came out. now i have everything and anything against her
But let’s not forget that Pink Diamond was told endlessly that this was acceptable, that gems below you mean nothing, like how pearls are servants, but when she found friends, and when she came to earth, she became humbled. She grew, and she made mistakes.

Then I met my girlfriend, she sang "Drift away" and I knew that song as I listened to it from Steven Universe
Once I search up "Everything stays", I found this beautiful combination of these two songs. It did not only remind me that moment she sang it for me, it made me cry bruhh

Should be called “Stay or Drift Away?”
This whole song is steeped in bittersweet nostalgia, remembering good times that slowly turned sour. Love that is no longer sweet. It begs for an answer for wether it should stay and try to be happy or drift away and try to repair the broken pieces it’s left with.
It is beautiful and sorrowful, perfect in its conflicting tones and feelings.
A Masterpiece.

I never got a chance to watch these shows completely, and listening to how good this song is and how I loved watching adventure time when it first started and the Steven universe movie, makes me really upset.. it makes me feal like I'm about to cry
This mashup gives me a storyline idea where there are two bestfriends and one of them is going through a lot so the “happier” friend would bring them to play in a garden in hopes that she’d feel better but the sad one ends up leaving the other friend. This leaves her angry, confused, and frustrated(this would be the drift away side) and at some point the sad friend finds herself remembering words that her old bestfriend would tell her (Everything stays part) and finds some comfort in those words even if she pushed her away

I come to this song every night to vent all the emotions that I have built up from the past 7 years of my life because they have been hell and Steven universe was like a childhood friend who grew up and moved on and just seeing it end and watching this movie... it changed me. Idk how but it did. Sometimes, I just hope that things get better and everyone doesn’t leave me behind but I’m being forgotten by my family, my friends, and even the the people who always said they’d be there when I need them but they’re never there. There just gone... So I just feel like I’m drifting away from reality and I know it and I don’t know how much longer I can stomach it before I drift out of existence and into the grave. Please... don’t leave me.
