This is very sad, but the part that keeps making me choke up every single time I hear it is her breakdown:
"It's funny... At least YOU found me entertaining, right? You actually...liked me...didn't you? What am I doing? Why do I want to hurt you so much? I'm supposed to be a friend. I just want to be a friend..."
i thought Lapis had a sad backstory. trapped unable to move waiting on someone who knew she was there to come and get her.....wait a sec...

Spinels was worse imo, she had the option to move and carry on with her life but she was tricked into staying there wasting her life
I feel like lapis is scared for life and spanel is having trust issues. I think they're pretty equal. Similar situations, both have unique things that make it awful, I think they both had it rough

To be honest, this is one of my favorite songs from this movie. The fact that Spinel was abandoned for 6000 years by Pink Diamond really makes this song even more heartbreaking.
They need to explain this important detail that’s most crushing:
Why did Pink choose Pearl, but not Spinel?
Pink could control Pearl. Spinel couldn’t really be controlled. Pearl was also more serious-- Spinel wasn’t created to be serious, she was created to be fun-loving. It literally wasn’t possible for Spinel to be who Pink wanted her to be, which was why Pink took Pearl but not her.

The worst part about this? Pink had no right answer here. Have her colony... or have Spinel. Sure, Spinel might have followed her into rebellion... but she wouldn't have lasted, at least not in Pink's eyes. What she did was a kindness. Hell, she probably planned to come back and get her at some point... and then she "shattered Pink Diamond". And after that... she couldn't. It doesn't make her choice right. It makes it understandable. There... was really no right choice.
she wasn't planning a rebellion until she got there. It's implied pretty heavily that it's just because she got bored of Spinel and didn't want to seem childish.
yeah no pink was definitely in the wrong here, she wasn't doing this for spinel's own good

And to think that pink was beloved leader, they both praised and celebrated her as a matchless gem. But in the end everyone realized the evil he did to so many innocent gems, and yes, it is unmatched, but in ruining their existence, and all because of his tantrum of wanting a colony and his "game" of the rebellion. And possibly the worst thing she did was to abandon Spinel with lies and in a very cruel way (Unless in the next season 6 of the series another case worse than Spinel happens, because blue diamond at the end of the movie saw Spinel and said it was one of his "Lost Treasures" from Pink) But something that I also hope will be resolved in season 6 is: How did Spinel get that injector and rejuvenator? If these things can only be acquired by diamonds? Thanks for reading, have a nice day =)
