Not only he's able to run fast times, but also kicks hard at the end. Very few athletes can do both. He looks very promising.
This channel is the greatest
Na
Imagine lining up for a high school 5k, and some freshman runs a 13:24, beating the entire field by nearly 2 minutes at pretty much any HS meet in the United States. Incredible
More like winning nationals and NCAA later in college
All the 18 years old jock
Oof
One of his goals is to beat Joshua cheptegei and this is what drives him. As a Ugandan I'm so proud of them. I believe we are yet to see the very best of them.
He has done it in Poland
Cheptegei, Kiplimo, Musagala - Uganda looks like the next distance running powerhouse. Can they overtake Kenya and Ethiopia in the next decade?
ehh maybe maybe.. but. for example Mo Farah didn't make Great Britain a distance running powerhouse. When he disappears so will his country. Same with Ingebrigtsen.
Nimma City but did Great Britain win almost every race at the 2019 world xc champs? No. Did Uganda? Yes.
They could. Lack of facilities are still a problem though. And they have the Kapchorwa training camp though. The potential is there
I agree
Training facilities are going to be a thing if the past. Cheptegei has decided to put his earnings in to building his own for the next generation. What a wonderful guy.
When people talk about Jacob Kiplimo or Joshua C it makes me a proud Ugandan
Your videos make me feel like it's the Olympics every day!
GOOD GRIEF!!!😅 I keep learning about some African super-elite runner who I didn't know about! This is a great running-related channel. For SOME reason, these guys make me want to train harder. Even though I'm a 50-something year old, casual runner, with joint deformities, I just want to be the fastest that I can! THESE runners are just AMAZING; hard-work, great training, genetics, supportive environment, everything else! WOW!!😃👍🏾🙌🏽❤🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🏃🏿♂️🌍
Thanks for balancing out your coverage of the fabulous Jakcob Ingebritsen with this one on Kiplimo, which is well deserved.
Distance running is so damn hot right now! Kiplimo, Kipruto, Cheptegei, Kamworor, Berega, ingebrigtsen, Mo Ahmed, not to mention Bekele vs Kipchoge coming up soon and Mo Farah back and looking good Just to name a few. Comment more top guys I missed!
I'm truly excited about Kiplimo's potential - so young & powerful. Will his career collide with Joshua Cheptegei's for supremacy?
As a Ugandan I don't mind because whether Kiplimo or cheptegei we bag the gold!
Yes we want it all
Love life 🇺🇬
Already collided he beaten Joshua on half marathon.....
@@shandytorok259 But Jacob Kiplimo was just training for the half marathon, while Joshua Cheptigei only trained for the 10k. As stated by Total Running Productions, his long runs are often only 30k, not nearly long enough to suffice for half marathon training.
Running is an Art! He proves it.
Imagine being able to run a 13:48 as a high schooler let alone as a15 year old and then running a 13:36 directly afterwards like wtf
Edit: and then being able to run a 13:24
I don’t think even in my dreams I would think I could run that fast I would say 14:20 just to have the state record for California at Woodward park were the hold the state meet
Don’t limit yourself a with arbitrary numbers.
Nathan Brame iK but my state xc record is 2 minutes slower and ik it’s a xc course but that’s still an insane gap.
I dream about running 14:59, having not yet achieving 15:40 😂. At least 16:59 and 16:40 were achieved 🗿🤦♂️
13:59 and below are far from my imagination
Uganda is now becoming and taking over as the new place for world class distance runners and putting the long standing Ethiopians and Kenyans in the past.
Absolutely amazing video. KIPILEMO IS JUST A MONSTER
Man, Uganda is fast becoming a force. It will be great to have another nation enter the ranks of Kenya and Ethiopia - to give us some interesting variety!! Im very excited about this prospect
Leave me alone I am trying to study for my science test :( nvm 11 minutes won’t kill me :)
Ingebrigtsen made a comment to Norwegian newspapers saying he conciously made the decision to pull with one lap to go to sacrifice the win for a great time
He would lost anyway, is another level Kiplimo
This makes sense. He rarely makes tactical mistakes and going early against Kiplimo seemed like an obvious one. Glad he was doing it for the time.
@@daltonpulsipher one excuse after the other.
@@ibrahimdijah7465 I didn’t say he would have won.

This is one of my favorite track channels.
I ran at World Mountain Running Championships back in 2018, Jacob was on the startlist, unfortunately he didn't compete due to an injury, I was reaaaaally close to see his back during the race at least lol
This is the best channel for athletics thank you Sir
Thanks for your endless exciting vedeos.
You know his junior career is going just like Usain Bolt's did. And look what Bolt turned into
Into what?

Congratulations my beautiful country my Uganda congrats for being the best....in races
i have to subscribe this channel, this guy is great in analysis!
TRP is getting even better!
Kiplimo is an absolute running machine. The recent head-to-head with J. Ingebrigtsen was epic!
Here are my predictions:
3000- 7:18
5000- 12:35
10,000- 26:15
5k- 12:50
10k- 26:20
His battles with Cheptegei will be insane!
Ur not wrong
Hopefully Rhonex, Barega, and Jakob mix it up with the Ugandan duo for the next 5-10 years and put distance running in the spotlight (one can dream)
@@PotemkinDogs1 Oh yeah, Kipruto will be a beast over the 10,000, Timothy Cheruiyot will dominate over the 1500 (Jakob will do excellently but Cheruiyot is on another level) and Barega should provide stiff competition in the 5000. The future of distance running looks very exciting
Do you not realize that a 10000 and a 10k are the same thing? And a 5000 and a 5k?
@@cryptic2610 Many people use 5,000m/10,000m to refer to the track events, and 5k/10k to refer to races of the same distance on the roads.
9:31 that camera man😂
Thank you for doing an excellent video of this emerging living Legend. 5-10 years from now, this video now Serves as the historical reference point for his soon to be World Breaking of Records that I predict will happen in 3K, 5K, 10K and he'll attempt half and by a stretch full marathon it he so wanted to!! ⌚ 24.09.2020 ➡️🚾
Manifested!
I love you uganda museveni oyeee
this guy needs more subs
Shout out to TRP for changing the name of that video. Respect.
What video?
Andrew Ryan 3000 recap
@@asapcasper1367 what was the name before?
Andrew Ryan I don’t remember exactly. It didn’t appropriately credit Kiplimo in a lot of the viewers judgement. The new one does.
Yeah he sure took a lot of heat on that video for naming it after Ingebritsen who LOST to Kiplimo.
I am so glad I was among the first people to subscribe at the start of this channel each day its getting better and better, thank you for this great work TRP
It'll be exciting to see what he does in the future. I wonder what he could do with the marathon.
After his fist lose in many years, The Camera man gives a final blow to kamworor sending off the finish line 😊
Please do a video on Julien Wanders! One of the up and coming European runners who has been training in Iten, Kenya for a few years now
UGANDA 🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬🇺🇬
In the next half marathon 1 and 2 positions will be cheltegei and kiplimo respectively. Beside the half marathon world record is under threat
Its time for us to start winning
If J. Ingebriston is Simba, J. Kiplimo is Mufasa
Probably transitioning to marathon within 5 years... and be one of the best.
His form is silky smooth
I think both Jakob and Jacob are going to be racing a lot. Like they will be there nemisis
this is the athlete to break 2 hour mark in marathon.
7:02 what happened to kipchoge's face
Maybe the runners wore reflective paint? Not sure why. For fun? For safety/cameras?
8:35 the future of distance running in one race.
I'm not convinced his age is accurate given the uncertain record keeping around east African birth dates. But who really gives a fn rip! He's freaking unbelievable 😳 at any age. Every time I hear about another ungodly finishing time from another unknown in east Africa, it simply reinforces how great Daniel Komen was. Let me be clear, he rewrote the history books on distance running in a few years. Live high, train high, eat clean, REST, ignore immense suffering, and YOU will find your way out of poverty. How bad do you want it hombre?
Jakob is a spoiled little bitch, but I mean that in the most sincere way. He's legit 👌
I’d be nice if you posted the soundtracks 😞
This might be too much to ask for. But I would love to learn about these elite athletes coaches. Have they had the same coach since 15yo? Do any of them share coaches?
His last minute kick is like Mo fahah
I’d love to know his mileage at that age
He’ll probably run
Now you understand why I said Jacob had no chance against Kiplimo....
Give Jacob some time. That kiplimo guy is def not 18.. where he is from is known for changing the age of its runners
Hahaha I can doubt cheptegei. But not kiplimo. The kid has grown up right Infront of our eyes from when he joined high school. Cheptegei came up when he was finishing high school and joining university. But he says his father never wanted him to run but stay and finish university education so he refused him to take in his dream early. But kiplimo has been winning everything here since his juniors so we ugandans eleven know him and his talent better than cheptegei. So that's his real age.
@@olabrenneguitar Kiplimo has grown in the lime light of Uganda actually we have very high hopes in him even more than Joshua Cheptegei
But he beat Jakob by what 0.4 seconds in a 3000? Kiplimo is amazing and I hope both athletes continue to stay healthy and improve but “no chance” is a pretty ridiculous statement
@@k-level you need to understand that Kiplimo is on another level... he was in total control and has been training and challenging world record holders for years... Jacob has reached his peak and Kiplimo is still improving. You will see this in the months and years to come....
Wow, I didn't know about his past, that he was such a stud at 15! He is improving faster than Joshua Cheptegei, that says it all..... do the math...
3rd
all i gotta say is watch out!
The sebeis from Uganda might be the next world beaters in 10000m and 5000m as they are kalenjin who reside in lower altitude than Kenya's kalenjin so they have endurance and sprinting capabilities unlike Kenyan kalenjin who have endurance but luck sprinting so Ethiopians must worry
All these time you were only talking about Jacob Ingerbrigtsen when this guy was doing better :(
General Clasher yeah that’s why he did this video; he took a lot of heat in the comments on his last Ingebritsen video for focusing on him after he lost to Kiplimo.
He did run 13:19.54 at age 15. Damn
Hi
You should know, but Kiplimo may look older than for his age, and yes that is true, he is. I believe he is about 20-21. How do I know? As an Ethiopian American, I know that in Africa, especially nations that were at war in the 80s to 90s, they don't have proper records of the age... He didn't lie, its probably just the government issuing it
As a Ugandan who knows exactly the areas which were affected by the wars, I hereby assured you that the area where Kiplimo born and raised Was not affected by any war!
My prediction are 5000m in 12.30/35
10000m in 26.10/15
10k race under 26.40
Half marathon low 58'
Don't think he can improve his 3k on track just becouse is not Olympic distance. Plus he had ability to maintain the speed for a lot. Like 21km at 2.45/km (58/58.05hm) he may be run under 58' also. I. Think he express his potential better on road then a track, obv he is so strong, he run at other level making other fast athletes like club. Athletes. He has a lot of talent, wrs are at risk with him.. I think he can compete right with cheptegei, don't think he will beat the 3000m but other distance he has a chance
I thought I was a excellent xc runner for running a 17:10 as a freshman 😂😂
18 years in thumbnail but 19 in the title lol
This track season has not unveiled any new faces. The Olympics might produce major upsets..which is quite exciting. Records might come tumbling down.
9:39 he hit the camera man :)
Compete and be the best ever Ironman
He is 19...on his passport
I used to care about what their ages were but it literally doesn't matter unless you care about age records lol. He's still fast even if his age is off by a bit
@@nc8186I couldn't agree with you more! But it's still funny that these "age mysteries" occur here and there.(Cheptegei, Kimetto,...)
@@alexanderhansen6134 Well I did never thought about age faking, in the running sport.
Do you think Cheptegei is older than 23?
@@robinbauer1975 Some athletes opt to be younger on the papers, to spend more time competing and thus have more chance to earn money off of it.
@@robinbauer1975
Most websites say that Cheptegei was born in 1996. But Cheptegei himself and his manager Jos Hermens admitted that he was actually born in 1992.

You mean Joshua?
Why not make the entire title all caps :/
Age is just a number - especially if you lie about it
Yea 15 is sus, maybe 18
Lol
He may not have known his age. My mother is from Uganda and she mentioned that many villagers do not know their real age because it’s not really recorded anywhere or deemed important enough. We definitely didn’t know my grand mother’s age, so we had to guess based on the relative ages of other people we knew.
Whatever

presumably he is much older than his official date of birth. If not, he is the greatest talent that ever existed. Bigger than Usian Bolt in sprint.
Andreas Thunemann look at the photo at 9:48 and tell me that this doesn’t look like a kid? The only evidence that anyone has that he isn’t 19 is that he’s from Uganda, which isn’t evidence at all. The birth certificate is just the last remaining excuse for people who can’t get over the fact that their white hero Ingebritsen is overrated.

Still think is insane for freshman to average 4:17 mile in 5 k while only 1 high school senior does it in a regional meet
these athlete are challenging for 5000 meter gold in 2021 Tokyo are Selemon Barega vs Muktar Edris vs Mo ahead vs Jakob Ingebristan vs Paulo Chelimo vs Joshua Cheptegei vs Jacob kiplimo
AND for the 10000 will have Yomif Kejelcha vs Rhone Kipruto vs mo Farah vs Kimbott Kandie vs Jacob Kiplimo vs Joshua Cheptegei vs kimeli
Ey

What is Kiplimo's height and weight, anyone know? hard to find
Great talent athlets.but the old is nor real..is very comum in african athlets..
At 15 4:38 is a insane mile time and he kept up that pace for a 10k AT 15 WTF is this dude
It's even good mile time for 18 17 years old senior
Is there a world/NCAA record in the 8,000 meters? Have always been curious
every course is different but i imagine it’s around 22 minutes flat, if not just under
But he’s not actually that age though
What is his age?
He actually is. The Sebei grow up faster and usually no more.
In high school in the state meet someone ran a 14:24 that was incredible California but your telling a 15 year old ran low 13:00 wow
first off the kid looks like hes 25 years old as a freshman second off his mileage is prlly rlly high and third hes fucking insane
Kid was 15. Just African life of hard work in the field with the hoe and being in the bushes looking after cattle and goats as mostly a pastoralist community and chasing wild animals from eating your animals you keep makes the body hardened to life. A 10 year old African village boys body is more developed than an 18 year old city boy.
Here im thinking my 8 min pace is decent for a 10k
What are they feeding these youngling‘s
Peds
Don’t tell Joshua about that national record 😬
Imagine your body not changing between 15 to 19 lol
It’s very common for the Sebei tribe of Uganda. They grow up first and not change at all. Also if you are wise you will have seen that most Ugandan athletes are of lean stature and usually unchanged for a long time.
