Along with Rubycon and Phaedra this is the brilliant essence of Tangerine Dream.
I get some strange looks in the car at the traffic lights with the windows rolled down playing this, when I put my semi-circular ping-pong balls in my eye sockets and drive off I get a strange response, priceless! Absolutely superb music, many thanks for the upload, danke!

This, Rubycon and Phaedra are all timeless classics. And they all sound fresh even today.

Amazing how thirty years later, this album recorded on what now seems like primitive gear, still sounds so sublime.

Such an unusual and wonderful song. It achieves that feeling of being completely frozen in time.

It seems that Atem was named Album of the Year by John Peel in 1973.

@fogbow63 I love this sound. I don't need LSD to appreciate it. It seems that I've come home from the wilderness of Western musak. 1969-77 was the great period of pioneering German electronica, what else! Mike from South Wales.

The glissando guitar is used to great effect. Check out its use by Gong (Daevid Allen & Steve Hillage) as well. Gives that extra 'spacey' feel. Took me a little while to get into Zeit back in the 70"s but it is a classic.

Deeper than Hell, and how. Variations on a spiritual voyage to the unknown. Thank You for uploading this, it helps me dream wetly. Got to love physics in reverse.

I am only two years old and I have reached roughly 0.7% completion on my own universal theory - which is being examined by physicists internationally. I too enjoy Tangerine Dream. I'm interested that your predictions extend all the way to the year 5097, however as my own theory does not include predestination. Perhaps I have overlooked some outstanding variable. Regardless, I am tuning my universal translobal modulator to you in wishing you the best which will have a 9.31% chance of effect.

Wow, I used to know a little bit about this band but you know a LOT. Is this the one that John Peel liked or was it Atem? which was '73 I think. Nice comment, fogbow63.

I'm sitting in my mothers womb as we speak. Using a remote keyboard for which the doctors procured at a cost of just about twelve dollars. Seeing as my birth will not make any impact on the way this universe works tangerine dream in my view is quite possibly the second most important group for human ears to listen to. The number one electronic board player is Vangelis. But for the strange TD can always give me ideas to open a new rift or get me to finish my thesis on Celestial mechanics. 0.01%
