This is a masterful medley of three of the most iconic final boss themes from Kingdom Hearts. One of those themes is Darkness of the Unknown from KH2, which you hear at the end. And this plays when you're facing off against said three final bosses in KH3. At the same time. So yeah, I'd say this well deserves its grandeur. P.S. Forza Finale (pronounced "fort-sa fee-na-lay") is Italian for "final force" or "final power." Forza Finale is this theme's official name, but it hasn't gotten an official name for a loooong time since KH3's release, so fans have given it the unofficial name Oscurita di Xehanort, which is Italian for "Darkness of Xehanort." Xehanort is the Kingdom Hearts series' main antagonist (or was; he met his end in 3), and many of the other antagonists in the series are some incarnation of him. As for why the Italian names, I honestly think Yoko Shimomura just likes her foreign names. She's starting to use German names for her songs too, so I don't think it's limited to just Italian. P.P.S. This theme is actually a collaboration between Yoko Shimomura and Yasunori Nishiki. Yes, the same Yasunori Nishiki who composed the soundtrack for the Octopath Traveler series. So, you're getting double the epic composer greatness here.

This was one of the tracks I was hoping would get into smash bros if Sora ever got in. He got in but they kept the music tracks only from the 1st game which kind of sadden me a bit ngl.
I went to a live orchestra concert for Kingdom Hearts, I can confirm that hearing KH songs live is peak. Also KH3 really stepped up with a live choir, which I think is pretty underrated. The other games just used a synth-choir, I think.
This song plays during a bossfight against 3 final bosses of older KH titles that the main villain brought back. And, in fact, all 3 characters are kind of the same character (think 3 iterations from 3 different parallel universes of the same guy. Not accurate, way more complicated in fact, but kinda like that). What makes this song incredibly awesome to us fans is that you hear the main theme of all 3 of the boss fights combinded in this masterpiece. The cello section for example is the main theme of one of them.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is amazing. Sure there are a couple things about it that I didn't personally care for. But the overall game was an incredible way to essentially wrap up the story. People saying it isn't at least a great game, are crazy lol.
I always felt like the reason why Kingdom Hearts gets Italian song names and Italian chanting is that Italian is kind of like the linguistic little brother of Latin, so it's drawing on a similar weighty feel to Latin while remaining a little less serious. FFXV, in contrast, gets the full Latin treatment since it's like Kingdom Hearts without the playful Disney elements. (Of course, KH ended up bringing in the Latin itself as it got more serious, and then a French song title for Xion's theme for some reason, so... yeah.)

Yeah... 3 was considered a "meh" game during the release, but it was a extremely unfair hate in my opinion, most because fans have been waiting "over 10 years" for this (Even though that's not true, since the games that came out between 2 and 3 are all true sequels and "main games"). I'd say one of the reasons why KH3 got that "It was a meh chapter" fame is because due to how weird numbering/names in KH works it actually was a a game after ~8 other games... And everyone expected something on the level of "Avengers Endgame", for series to go out with a bang finishing "Seeker of Darkness" story arc that lasted for 15+ years... But on release it felt more like "Thor 3: Ragnarok" - awesome game in the series but not the Big Bang ending - especially ending part which felt rushed. Most common opinion was that they rushed to release... Then in a few patches added "Critical" difficulty and after this Re:MIND DLC happened which expanded on events of ending sequence, rebalanced+polished fight mechanics and added 14 New extra hard as nails bosses for people who wanted challenge (and then there were PRO CODES submenu added for those who wanted challenge runs) ... And this is what made opinions shift towards "Now this game is WORTHY to be the Ending of a 15 year long story arc" opinion. In essence KH3 on release and KH3 with Re:MIND DLC are quite different experience.
YES!!! This one is my favorite track from all Kingdom Hearts games, it's so intense, it doesn't let you breath. I was afraid this track had been too overhyped and that you wouldn't enjoy it that much, I'm relieved it wasn't the case. And I love Kingdom Hearts 3 so much, as well as its soundtrack. Shimomura didn't work on it alone, but other people probably already told you that. The official name of the track is Forza Finale (Italian). But this track didn't have a title until KH3 ost officially came out, so in the meantime a fan named it Oscurita di Xehanort (because a lot of boss fights songs in KH have Italian names, so it was fitting. Xehanort is the main villain of the series). This track is all about the darkness lol. You weren't wrong when you said it sounded like a nightmare haha. This track was played during the KH3 orchestra wold tour, I wish I had been there
Lmao that's what everyone who hasn't seen the games thinks it's all about just Disney kiddie stuff when in reality it's a pretty dark and intense game series
The general thing of Kingdom Hearts is that the actual story of the game is pretty serious and gets dark pretty quickly. But the gameplay itself is a bit arcade-y, and a lot of the Disney content is mainly just there to serve as levels for these events to happen.
Most EPIC fight in gaming for me, fighting all three Versions of Xehanort was freaking AMAZING! I remember the first time I did this fight when the game came out I was screaming my ass off in excitement.
A villainous culmination of the series antagonists. A fantastic way to end it. That cello and Xemnas' portion are incredible, though Shimomura always knows how to run her string section.
I don't know if anyone said this but a little lore behind the battle this song is from: You fight against 3 different versions of the bad guy "Xehanort": Ansem, Young Xehanort and Xemnas respectively. This song is a mix of all three of their songs while you fight them and during their special move the "real" Xehanort is fighting with them in the background. So that's why it's called something like Xehanort's Darkness or Darkness of Xehanort.
This song is one of the boss battle in the last section of Kingdom Hearts 3. It mixes up all the major antagonist of the previous games, KH1, KH2 and KH3D. You can hear "Forze del Male", which represents Ansem, the endboss of KH1, "L'lmpeto Oscure", which represents Young Xehanort for KH3D, and "Darkness of the Unknown", which represents Xemnas, the endboss of KH2 (You heard parts of it in your reaction to L'Oscurita Dell'Ignoto) I would recommend you to listen to the OSTs from Kingdom Heart 3's ReMind DLC: Young Xehanort's L'Impeto Oscuro Xemnas' L'Oscurità dell'Ignot Ansem's L'Eminenza Oscura Marluxia's Lord of the Castle You already reacted to on of the DLC's OST: Xion's Vector To The Heavens
KH3 may be seen as the "eh" one in terms of story and to an extent gameplay, but the soundtrack does slap. It's the first KH game to have it's soundtrack recorded with a full orchestra, rather than virtual instruments. The final level of the KH3 is basically a boss gauntlet of 13 iconic antagonist in the series. But rather than individually facing each boss, they're grouped together in these epic encounters of 2-3 villains doing battle with the player at once. And to top it off, each encounter is scored with a medley of the boss themes of the villains in each group. Forza Finale is the track that plays in the last of those encounters. To simplify really complicated lore, the main antagonist the series is named Master Xehanort. Xehanort splits himself into two beings, which are the main villains of KH1 and KH2, known as Ansem and Xemnas. And then in the game that takes place between 2 and 3, Dream Drop Distance, a Young Xehanort time traveling from the past is the main villain. Forza Finale has you doing battle with Ansem, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort. And to top it off, the main Master Xehanort is in the background of the arena creating additional environmental hazards to avoid. It's a crowning achievement in fan service in a game that brought to a close a saga presented to fan over the course 17 years.

In regards to the Italian in the name of some songs of Kingdom Hearts: I think its because (correct me if i am wrong) Italian is the language of music in general and some very special songs for example the songs of major/final bosses in Kingdom Hearts have Italian names. "Scherzo Di Notte" or "Forze Del Male" would be 2 other songs that have a special position in Kingdom Hearts.

Ok because you asked if there is a live version in one of the Kingdom Hearts Concerts they play an amazing arrangement of this song and I highly recommend it for a listen
To be fair, you have seen the heavy hitters of kh3, most people agree the songs at the end are fire, its before that thats a bit more questionable. I also get why you prefer it since its orchestrated, like yoko's full power is unleashed, and id agree there, its high time we got an actual orchestra for the games. She, as well as the other composers, even been using midis for way too long.
Music wise, KH3 definitely was very good, Yoko got the chance to flex with some of the boss battles; it's the plot that fell flat with some folks, sadly, especially after over a decade of waiting and hype. You know how it is. The secondary title of this song translates to "The Darkness of Xehanort," as he's the Big Bad for the entire trilogy+ of the series, and this boss battle combines the music of the three iterations of him you fight across 1, 2, and Birth By Sleep/Dream Drop Distance. Darkness of the Unknown from 2 is my personal favorite, but all three boss OSTs are good, and this is definitely one of her best boss battles to score in my opinion.
I won't spoil it for you, but this track DOES occur at the endgame. It takes place at the very last boss before you get the option to go through 'The Point of No Return" which most games do from time to time.
3 wouldn't have a soundtrack without all the other games. It's a celebration of everything that came before. Almost all of its intense boss themes are remixes and new renditions of previous songs.
Honestly KH3 is in a tricky spot. There's a lot of things that seriously bring it down and a lot of things that really push it ahead and it's hard to say that it's just meh. On terms of music, you're pretty much exclusively getting requested to hear the good parts. A lot of music in KH3 has a tendency to repeat and echo motifs that we've heard in previous games, some even just being a complete remix such as Vector to the Heavens. As other comments have stated, this song in particular combines motifs from three final boss themes from Kingdom Hearts 1, Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. While this arrangement/composition may be new and easily outclasses the previous iterations, the motifs in it are not new. The new songs that KH3 introduces are either pretty good or really bad. The biggest example that everybody points to as a bad song in KH3 is "Anger Unchained."
About KH3 versus the earlier installments, part of it may be that KH3 simply has more original music. In KH2 and especially in KH1, a lot of the OST is taken from Disney, so there's not that many originaly songs in it. By KH3, the original KH lore has creeped into the series so much that it basically usurped the soace that went to Final Fantasy stuff in the previous games, and even the Disney parts are toned down a bit to make space for the tangled mess that is the KH3 storyline.
KH3 is considered meh moreso on the story and gameplay front compared to the other games in the franchise. The music is probably the series’ best in terms of composition amd they definitely put the most budget into it out of all the games as they were willing to hire multiple composers as opposed to just having Shimomura.
Well the thing is when there is a new KH game there are always those who cry about it. It was the same back in the day with KH2, but these days it's considered the best in the series, and it is, but the hate towards 3 is silly. On one hand you have people who hate this series and what it is and people listening to them without interacting with it and on other fans who want specific gameplay style for example 2s when every game in the series has a new gameplay style. 3 was a combinatiom of everything that came before and for me at leaat is my fav one gameplay wise. I used to not like it until I realized I was playing it wrong because I tried to play it like two instead of giving it's mechanics a chance. Now I know how it plays and it's easly the most free form combat in the series, even if it's not as polished as 2, but I have no doubt it's gonna be just as good if not better then 2 in KH4 since 3 dlc has the best bosses in the series and that's just improvments in 6 months. Basically you can't really define it as the bad one until you see it for yourself and make up your mind on it. It's similar to MGS4.
The cycle of life eh. New thing comes out "bah, well it's no ___" Then gets appreciated later. I have no idea we as humans are wired this way lol, it's just a thing we do.

The general thing of Kingdom Hearts is that the actual story of the game is pretty serious and gets dark pretty quickly. But the gameplay itself is a bit arcade-y, and a lot of the Disney content is mainly just there to serve as levels for these events to happen.
Would you believe me if I tell you that during intense boss fight, you're fighting alongside Mickey Mouse? lol
Quality content 👍
Not only are these boss themes from KH1, kH2, & KHDDD but the god tier transitions into the other ones theme is amazing.
Most EPIC fight in gaming for me, fighting all three Versions of Xehanort was freaking AMAZING! I remember the first time I did this fight when the game came out I was screaming my ass off in excitement.
The thing with 3 is that most of the songs you've heard in 3 are medleys or variations of stuff from 1 and 2.
To save you potential headaches in future: Xehanort is pronounced 'Zey-ha-nort'
The subtle strings on 5:35 are insane to me.
Sometimes the best stuff is buried in the mix. It's actually why I chose the headphones I use.
You can hear "Forze del Male", which represents Ansem, the endboss of KH1,
"L'lmpeto Oscure", which represents Young Xehanort for KH3D,
and "Darkness of the Unknown", which represents Xemnas, the endboss of KH2 (You heard parts of it in your reaction to L'Oscurita Dell'Ignoto)
I would recommend you to listen to the OSTs from Kingdom Heart 3's ReMind DLC:
Young Xehanort's L'Impeto Oscuro
Xemnas' L'Oscurità dell'Ignot
Ansem's L'Eminenza Oscura
Marluxia's Lord of the Castle
You already reacted to on of the DLC's OST: Xion's Vector To The Heavens
The person who arranged this would go on to do the themes for Yugioh Master Duel

I recommend 13 th dilemma from 2.5
Yup kingdom hearts is in its own league
In regards to the Italian in the name of some songs of Kingdom Hearts: I think its because (correct me if i am wrong) Italian is the language of music in general and some very special songs for example the songs of major/final bosses in Kingdom Hearts have Italian names. "Scherzo Di Notte" or "Forze Del Male" would be 2 other songs that have a special position in Kingdom Hearts.
Considering Yoko Shimomura composed for FF15 and Kingdom Hearts, the overlap is expected, regardless of release of order xD
KH Games:

Ok because you asked if there is a live version in one of the Kingdom Hearts Concerts they play an amazing arrangement of this song and I highly recommend it for a listen
To be fair, you have seen the heavy hitters of kh3, most people agree the songs at the end are fire, its before that thats a bit more questionable. I also get why you prefer it since its orchestrated, like yoko's full power is unleashed, and id agree there, its high time we got an actual orchestra for the games. She, as well as the other composers, even been using midis for way too long.
The name is in italian. Means Final Force.
Most Kingdom Hearts Themes are titled in Italian.
Yoko's ability to combine the themes of all three of the series' most well-known antagonists into a huge song is just fantastic.
3 wouldn't have a soundtrack without all the other games. It's a celebration of everything that came before. Almost all of its intense boss themes are remixes and new renditions of previous songs.
Welcome to Nort Court, fools!
Young Xenahort Theme goes so hard. Esepcialy the Remind version
KH3 for me is the best game in the series in every aspect, specially bosses music!
Speaking of layer cakes, you should listen to Layer Cake from Persona 5, specially if you like acid jazz
It'd be cool if you could react to "Nachtflugel"
It's the KH3 Remind Secret Boss Theme and it's a pure banger.
Still waiting to watch you play through the game series some day. But I know that won't happen.
KH3 is considered meh moreso on the story and gameplay front compared to the other games in the franchise. The music is probably the series’ best in terms of composition amd they definitely put the most budget into it out of all the games as they were willing to hire multiple composers as opposed to just having Shimomura.
Information: Defeat The Nort Court!
New thing comes out "bah, well it's no ___"
Then gets appreciated later. I have no idea we as humans are wired this way lol, it's just a thing we do.
@@JessesAuditorium It is because that's how our brain works: It works by reinforcing existing pathways, so to we instinctively try to stay in our mental pathways.
@@fatedawakening3143 hey to each their own. I love to summon the ship and juggling Aqua while she's telling her sad story, and aireteping all over the place. Outside of the mobile games I like combat in all the games. I wouldn't be a fan if only thing I cared about was mechanics, or how many specials Sora has.
Imagine me not reading the comments
@@fatedawakening3143 sorry but I'm not reading all of that. I only read up to engaging part. I'm not looking for anyone to engage in discussion about it. If you dissagree just ignore my comment. Again I wouldn't be a fan if stuff like that was all I care.
Btw xehanort is pronounced ZAY-uh-nort lmao
"It sound like Christmas"
The question is, do boss tracks sound Christmas-y by some wierd coincidence, or is Santa the final boss of life?
BTW, I don't blame you for butchering the pronouncuation. Xehanort is an absolutely dumb name. I keep thinking the "n" and "h" should be switched, but they aren't.
forza finale does not look like french, it's looking more like italian to me.
Eh. Yoko definitely found her stride in KHII. She and her team had more to work with in KHIII, but the compositions are better in KHII.
KH3 has a lot of problems but the music isn't one of them.
