Woohoo, Kansas City, represent! Seriously though, great video and invaluable info on how to do some noninvasive musculoskeletal treatments on a pregnant patient. Also, Tara is cute (but you already knew that) :)
For the abdominal myofasical release technique, when the pt is prone on his/her hands and knees, is there an easier way for the doctor to position themselves for this technique? Sometimes myofascial can take a little while and it seems that the position (hunched over, while picking up the belly and slowly letting the tissues unwind) may seem uncomfortable.
I had this done while pregnant. I had 2 previous pregnancies, both were premature. My last was carried to term. I firmly believe it had something to do with my doctor recommending OMT.
The first technique is a form of HVLA, which is an passive direct technique. Why then would you put the patient into the freedom. Would you sidebend and rotate to the right and then thrust into the freedom?
try to use your body mechanics to your advantage. Sometimes it may be a challenge, but get creative! If the table is adjustable, that can be very helpful...but if not - sometimes you might find yourself in an awkward position and there may not be much you can do about it.
so good,, really like the chicago roll, and also how you took us through the myofascial release on the abdomen.
Wow great moves! Thanks, this is a fantastic review of OMT for doctors in practice that are a bit rusty. -S
should have 1 million viewers! .. Man! Thank you!
