Hello, I watch your videos on UA-cam. I will buy a torque wrench for the K1100lt motorcycle engine. 20-120 N.M Will an adjustable torque wrench be enough or should I buy 25-220?
Beautiful work, this is going to be such an amazing bike when done. I'm in the process of doing a K75 at the moment. Which paint was used in the black parts of the engine and so forth? I like that it's not so glossy. 👍
Thanks buddy, I'm currently waiting for the frame to come back from the powdercoater, then I can continue working on the electrics. Planning to finish the bike within two months from now. Paint is called DTM, direct to metal. It's a 2k paint and it's a 10% gloss. Just perfect for the engine IMHO
Nice job! Currently I am prepping my k100 engine for painting. Hope it will come out something like yours "fingers crossed" Are you from the Netherlands?
Thanks! A paintjob is 95% prep work, so make sure that's perfect. The paintjob itself will be done in minutes and will be perfect than. I'm currently working on a new K100 build and will go more in depth on the cleaning part of the engine. Yes I'm from the Netherlands. You?
@@corner.custom It's my first time doing something like this. I have been cleaning and prepping for almost 2 months now, but I only work on it during the weekends. For the engine paint I Bought some VHT satin black spray but I read that 2k spray paint is better. Not sure yet which one i'm going to use. I am from the Netherlands as well. I actually would love to see that bike of yours in real life when it's operational again.
@@dodgysage I can highly recommend you not to use VHT. Me and other builders have some bad experience with it. I'll rather go for 2k paint or Cerakote. The K engine in the video has been done with satin 2k and also for my recent K build I've used 2k, and will also use Cerakote for some pieces. The bike is fully ready and will make some quality photos so I can share the full build video soon!
Fantastic work. Makes me want to get an 8v. Looks like the R1100 wheel on there. Beautiful. What rubber did you put on it? Does the wheel bolt right on?
Thanks! These are Bridgestone Battlax Scrambler tires. Front tire is 120/70/19 and rear tire 160/16/17. You need to shorten the wheel bolts down 5mm, then it fits without a problem. With 8v the wheel sits slightly off center, but you won't feel this during the riding
@@corner.custom Thanks for your quick respond😀. And one more question the rear wheel that you sre using, from which bike it is, because looks wider that the original k100 rear wheel, and how hard is it to mount it. Maybe these are stupid questions but 3 days ago i found out about the K bikes and i am looking forward to buying one so i really want to learn everything before i buy it.
@@kirililioski4694 It's a K1200 wheel. It is wider than the stock K100 wheel, but I can be used without any trouble. You only need to shorten the OEM wheel bolts 5mm. There's a lot more info on K bikes in my IG account 👍🏼
@corner.custom doing some research on paint .the usual vht seams short lived .the 10% sheen looks good, and adhesion , corrosion/ chemical resistance my main priority
VHT sucks, that's a fact. I've seen in on too many builds flaking off. I'm using the 10% sheen/gloss. It isn't as resistant to chemicals like Cerakote, but it's doing a great job 👍🏼
Respect, can look at this for hours💪🏼
Well lucky you, I'll upload a new video soon on the rebuild of my K1200 engine 🤙🏼
Beautiful job! Well done
Thanks man, the full build video has just been put out on this bike 👍🏼
Looking forward to seeing this one finished!
Thanks Dave, same for me! Too much hold up at the moment due to holiday etc, but planning to finish this build within two months from now
Great work and vid as usual brother 💪
Thanks again mate. Trying to up the quality of work and the editing skills 😁👍🏼
@@corner.custom Nice mate, it's amazing the time it takes but well worth it. I've spent a whole day on a 20 minute vid 🙄😅
@@twistedfatebuilds Haha yeah it can be a total PITA 😅 When it's all done, it's a satisfying feeling 😁👍🏼
Very nice job! What paint did you use for the engine since it can reach very high temperatures?
Paint is called Selemix. I've talked about that in one of my newest videos, R100 engine rebuild how to
nice work !
Thanks Mike 😁👍🏼👍🏼
very nice !
Thanks! The build is almost done, I'll make a full build video soon 👍🏼
nice job
Thank you 🤟🏼👍🏼
Hast du das Hinterrad ohne Probleme montiert? Musstest du ein zusätzliches Pad einbauen?
You need to take off 5mm from the wheelbolts and then you're all good
Very nice
Thanks 🤙🏼👍🏼

I would go for the 25-220. Better buy it right the first time, could be useful for other tasks in the future
@@corner.custom Thank you Sir
Which exhaust did you mount?
Looks awesome 😎

Don't know if this will be good in the long run. Probably will replace this one with a quality exhaust

Bonjours c’est quel taille et quelle référence de pneu à l’arrière ? Merci très jolie projet

How do you need in terms of money...to complete this task?
Around 800 euro
Selemix recommended for engine paint ?
I've used it for all my builds, works great

@corner.custom only worry is all the effort and effect of fuel on the finish
True, but fuel needs to go in the tank, not over the engine 😉😁
Was it hard? Where are you located?
It's all basically stuff. With a little bit experience you'll get a long way. I'm in The Netherlands 🇳🇱
@@corner.custom thanks mate I appreciate you answering.
Enjoy the build!
No worries man, anytime. This build is long finished, along with other K/R builds. More videos of those are on the channel as well 👍🏼
How did you finish those pipes?
First I've blasted them inside and outside. As finishing touch I gave them a quick brush with a wire wheel to get a even finish
