This is the idea of positive, bright, diligent, loyal and committed outstanding students in the zone of supporting each other as a team, within the education system. Quite Fantastic, and may each one of them become outstanding Adults in their quest to develop their careers after college, or University...
I agree. We have nothing like this in the UK unless you join the military. We have small local marching bands that were traditionally linked to the coal mines or steel works but they are made up of less than 30 ish people.

Glad to see the Spartans haven't let up after all these decades. Will never forget when they killed it during Homecoming by playing Lovers Lane by Georgio in '87!!!🔥
From London/UK. I believe as talented as we are, there is no way that this range of talented students can be replicated anywhere on this Earth. This is the idea of positive, bright, diligent, loyal and committed outstanding students in the zone of supporting each other as a team, within the education system. Not only them, but to all the other identical colleges who produce outstanding musicians, athletes, leaders, and teachers within the system. Quite Fantastic, and may each one of them become outstanding Adults in their quest to develop their careers after college, or University...
Well said. Kudos to these young people. Continue to march with wisdom & the will of God leading the way in each of your lives. I see leaders.
they are barely even move how are they good
Here in germany we have traditional school musikkorps not this weird shit. Austria and France also do have nice music corps
I agree. We have nothing like this in the UK unless you join the military. We have small local marching bands that were traditionally linked to the coal mines or steel works but they are made up of less than 30 ish people.
@@Sera-Marie we have those too. Dont you also have an militarized culture? Like civil bans based on army bands?
Where the war at. I was ready for the battle to start. Their entrance was off the chain . I wanted to see if they killed the performance
Setsuna K. Hahahahahahahahaha, love your comment. Aloha from Hawaii. 8/3/2020
@@JESUSISLORDforever888 hi🙋🏾♀️
they ended up losing to ncat
All the white people hating on the vid for no reason😹😹
Because they are seeing an HBCU band that can eat their little bands up with half the funding…they really saw the difference in entertainment value when this band showed out at the 2023 Rose Parade in California…. look it up…our melanin challenged brothers and sisters couldn’t believe an HBCU band could be that good
No it’s the non American blacks
No its the pilgrims 😐
This is entertainment, at its absolute finest. What a show.
I am a graduate of NC A@T , And was a member of the Percussion section which we called Cold Steel . Norfolk State Universities marching band is ONE OF THE BEST OF THE BEST, especially their PERCUSSION SECTION. I love watching their Band perform.
Love shout out to yall as well 🤝🏾✊🏿💯😎
Ni I love the Cold Steel! I come to UA-cam just to watch them!
You had a section called cold steel!? Are kidding me? That's like such a Badass name!
@@sapphirefox93 yes cold 🥶 steel.
AGGIE PRIDE!!! Gotta give Spartan Legion and MDFS their props...Marching Machine and Cold Steel coming through in a few!❤
Me: I'm going to bed early.
My brain at 3am:
I’m way in Detroit, Michigan and I stumbled up on this, this is a phenomenal band here, I’ve watched others but this performance surpassed them all
My son is in this band & was in this performance. His high school marching/ Jazz/Concert band director is from Detroit & is an Alumni of this band & the school. The greatness runs deep my friend. Very deep. BEHOLD....
This was by far the best marching band i have seen on youtube. That drumline... oh my oh my. This band was breathtaking to watch. Awesome performance and thank you for sharing.
Gotta love the showmanship and the discipline.
the amount of swagger in this video
Drum lines are so bad ass, much respect
I am a Norfolk native,,, this was great to see cause remember how exciting it was to see the marching Spartans growing up
I've been out of college for over 100 years and I would love to go back to school and attend this school just to be in the band(clarinet section only).
I could never March this well
Didn't it take you there?😍🤗🤗🤗
Same here!
me too! I played the clarinet in the marching band as well I miss those days :(
Me too, I played clarinet in the marching, concert, jazz, and All City bands. Loved EVERY single moment!!!!!
This band is focus and have discipline.
Oh my goodness!!! 🤯 I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THIS PERFORMANCE!!! 🔥🔥🔥💣💣💣
NSU DID THE DAMN THING!!!! No others can touch this one. GREAT JOB, NSU!!! Take a bow.
❣️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Former band geek from way back. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!! The pride, the flair, the discipline-- just. freaking. awesome. I want more of this band!!!!!
This is by far the best band entrance this year! Straight up! 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
I totally agree. None better!!!
orionh3000 i do fck with alabama state style & intro, however they don’t compare. i honestly feel like they are “inspired” 🔰👀
@orionh3000 find the video link for Alabama State, i would love to see it, no shade.
Those dudes marching in carry whole drum sets omg. Amazing.
This is my first time seeing this and I have to say, I got nothing but love and respect for NSU right now. This one of the best entrances I have seen in a long time. If this is a competition, they got my vote.
I run a semi professional sports league, and I would hire these guys in a second! Awesome! We have nothing like this in Australia.
When the clarinet section comes with that much salt and attitude, the other bands are in trouble. That energy and focus was unreal. Love that Norfolk State!
Yeah they went in on this battle.
BEHOLD...
right cuz to me clarinet is the lamest instrument in the band (though I played it in high school lol)but they came in hard as a rock😂
Their march in was so hard......IONT NEED TO SEE SHT ELSE!!😂😂😂😂
Folks, I don’t see just a band here. Right here, this is a FAMILY.
I used to love battling Norfolk state. Their band was amazzzzzzing… I lowkey want to play “behold” & “and love goes on”
I believe this is the definition of swag. Love it.
I love this band's swagger so much
I respect any band with their own style!! I'm not a big fan of meac, siac, etc and other conference styles but I'm swac. but Norfolk is sum serious!!
No doubt about that.
I gettin older My disc in my back is sore from just looking....
Great tradition. Great musicianship. Great students!!!
I know I wasn't the only one getting chills watching this!
The highsteps throughout were absolutely impeccable. Crazy work there
In a world of copy cats this really stands out, much respect to Norfolk St. great job. Man y'all look damn good. Coming from a Marching 101 alumni.
FAMU is the father of all Marching Bands. Black and White schools have taken from FAMU. FACTS
@@aaronalmighty1119 I must have missed FAMU in the video. How do they relate them marching in?
@@liquidlightz I just ran with the part in the initial comment " In a world of copy cats". Everybody has copied them mighty Rattlers. No FAMU doesn't have anything to do with them marching in; to answer your question.
Aaron Almighty what has NSU copied from FAMU? They sure don’t march, sound or look like you’all...what did THEY (NSU) copy from FAMU? Waiting....zzzzzzzz....🙄...if you knew your history of either school, Dr. Foster of FAMU and Mr. Emery Fears ( the architect of NSU’s playing, marching and overall style, whose still living by the way) of NSU, were tight friends.... both perfected their crafts at Big Ten schools before arriving at their respective schools... if anything, those two legends expanded upon what they experienced in Big Ten country and spiced it way up by adding a lot Afrocentric elements to marching band...we all know who originated everything, Mother Africa.... if anybody copied anything, it was from our ancestors in AFRICA, Black & White schools
@@troystrong8041 The comment was not directly towards NSU. Every band has taken something from FAMU and Dr. Foster. Many have evolved into their own, but the blueprint was created on the Hill.
I've seen a lot of marching bands in my lifetime but this one blew my mind. Absolutely stellar performance.
This why nsu is the best show style band in not just they’re conference but the best period. The synchronization, the choreography and everything in between is flawless 😭
I'm not from the US so I'm clueless on what is judged with marching bands. One thing I do know though, is that march in was EPIC. I loved the energy. I just feel sorry for the other band in yellow, having to witness that without feeling defeated.
Thing about it is that Norfolk State has been like this for many decades.
Facts.
This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Thank you so much for sharing it so that thousands of people could enjoy it!
This HBCU band is good and their drum line is amazing.
One of the best hbcu bands I've seen, loved the cadence and the drum line was fire
This is very organized on the drumlines' behalf. Wow just wow.
Best entrance I've seen from any MEAC school
Enjoy ua-cam.com/video/l8NHebm4nTY/v-deo.html
As a SC State grad and fan of my beloved SCSU Marching 101, I must say I'm as big of a fan of NSU Spartan Legion. Their Pass & Review is unrivaled. I must say when it comes to HBCU bands, NSU Spartan Legion is the most underrated of bands out there. They own the best mix of corps style blended with modern high-step marching there is out there. Bravo!
My hubby graduated from your school.
This band here is off the chain great performance and that drumline was so tight beautiful
Definitely a intro of a lifetime!
You can always be certain that Norfolk and NCAT drumlines will always put on a good show
💯✊🏿✊🏿😎
I don't care about sports, but I LOVE marching bands! 😂
Never seen a band display so much soul in their Marching
And this was just them walking in and taking a seat!!!! Baby, them at half- time must be COLD. 😍
I loved the presentation that they gave it was fire.
