I quit all alcohol, refined sugar and processed food, and ate a strict whole food diet. Within two months my sleep apnea that was destroying my health was completely gone. Mainly because my body was no longer inflamed. After three months I lost a lot of weight and have no more joint pain. I now walk daily and gym three times a week. I look and feel like a brand new person.

Glad at 20 that I figured this out. After going Keto and reading every label, I've become aware of just how processed and loaded with sugar our foods are. Oils, meats, nearly everything. I rarely eat anything out of a package anymore, and only if the ingredients meet my standards. I've seen many people give up cigarettes, and other drugs, but rarely do you find someone willing to commit to giving up sugar or refined carbohydrates from their diet. Best health choice I've ever made, plus I learned to cook.

If I mess up, I'm not hard on myself. I make it a point to not eat anything else with sugar and fast for at least 16 hours to burn some of those carbs. Just don't give up. As an African, who grew up in the farm,I must say I didn't know what processed food was When growing up. Everything has fresh from the farm or market. Things like chocolate we had them once in a while, special occasion. And it was not much. I must admit growing up with less did shape me, when it comes to choice of food I eat today. My favourite place in a store is the vegetable section. I can say, am not tempted when it comes to sweets. I just started eating low carb, low (almost no) sugar - and already, I feel better. I'm eating mostly fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, etc. Here's the biggest surprise: The food tastes fantastic! I no longer am hungry between meals, my energy and sense of well-being is so much improved, and I can think clearly. Although I'm not diabetic, I was definitely heading there. The hardest part has been figuring out how to cook things. I sit down and cut veggies and/or fruit into whatever I plan to eat that day. Sitting helps make it easy. I never cooked, just grabbed convenience food. Now, I actually enjoy cooking. Before I did this, I thought I was eating well (no junk food, no fast-food, no candy, no desserts, no sodas, etc.) But what I didn't realize is how loaded processed food is with sugar and carbs. It's unbelievable.

Everybody already knows that refined white sugar is bad for people's health. It is stated in MANY books on health. Mr Lustig is another person who has been trying to make it clear to others.
It is man who has been putting lots of refined white sugar about in foods and drinks and he needs to take responsibility for his actions and apologise to the planet about it. Man is no hero here, he has caused a lot of tooth decay and poor oral health on the planet. He is the boss of many companies, he has been making a lot of decisions around the world about what foods and drinks to put about. Man has been serving adult sized ice-cream portions to children from vans, in supermarkets ALL the cakes have sugar as the first and MAIN ingredient (the cakes in supermarkets taste really disgusting by the way!), men have been putting lots of super sugary drinks around children on a daily basis as well as around young people and they have been promoting them all over the place instead of drinking tap water. Adult man almost never uses drinking water taps when he is thirsty, he goes out and gets himself a can or bottle of beer or sweet fizzy drink instead!!! Shop as though you've went out on a hunt and picked from the garden assuming one eats meat. I grew up on a farm in the late 60s into the 70s.. We had chickens, turkeys, geese, cows, pigs and horses as well as huge vegetable gardens and huge wheat fields. We made our own bread, butter and drank raw milk. We hunted ducks, rabbits, deer, moose as well as fished. I don't think we ever went to a grocery store back then that I can remember. We also picked gooseberries, strawberries, Saskatoon berries, pin cherries, blueberries and chokecherries the we preserved and made pies and jams with. This was all in Saskatchewan Canada, btw. The cellar was always well stocked for winter and everyone was healthy as a horse as we worked most all of the day, everyday but for us young ones, it was fun. I sure miss those times.
When I was really little I would go to the coop to collect eggs, every now and then I'd find a goose egg in the chicken coop, it was the highlight of my life at the time. lol I remember getting so excited because i didn't know that the geese were laying those huge eggs. Those geese use to chase me and my younger brother all the time, we were so scared of them but in a fun way as we'd scare ourselves. lol

Just like the tobacco industry knew their cigaretts were addictive and carcinogenic. And they paid the American Mafia, our government millions of dollars and screwed smokers out of any legal recourse

As well as with other toxins [i.e., hydrofluosilicic acid is a known neurotoxin in most American drinking water]
Hydrofluosilicic acid replaced most of the sodium fluoride in most public drinking water
According to The Harvard School of Public Health, The Lancet Neurology, and Dartmouth University, sodium fluoride and hydrofluosilicic acid are known neurotoxins [they cause mitochondrial cellular damage].
Sodium Fluoride and hydrofluosilicic acid also damage the frontal lobe: emotional regulation, decision making, short- and long-term memory, lowers the IQ of children, etc.
      Please research these neurotoxins

It is. I'm allergic to cane sugar and it's extremely difficult to find any packaged foods without it. I can make substitutions in my recipes, but not everyone is willing to spend that much time to avoid it.

The sugar facts were presented to the government back in the fifties. The gov threw the flails out and said this would screw up sugar investment. They've known all along and have just played you people.

Sugar farms on Florida, are fertilizing their sugar and causing red tide to over bloom, and are killing the gulf of Mexico. They don't care about people or the environment.

oh but that could never happen, they need those children to grow up in the dark just as their parents did to continue funding them. because if the new generation stops buying it for themselves, they will stop buying it for their children and when their children grow up they will have stopped buying it all together, and that means that in one generation of growth the sugar industry would have to close its doors for good, and we all know that can't happen, who then would fund these billionaires?

Advertising lures people to foods that are loaded with sugar just like it did in the past with selling cigarettes until the Surgeon General determined that smoking was dangerous to your health, and they stopped the cigarette commercials on television in the 1970s. The government needs to step in and educate people about the harmfulness of too much sugar and censor product advertisements.
