  • Today we break down the cost of building my LS3 Swapped E30. On top of the engine swap, we also did a fresh paint job, modernized interior, along with some fresh suspension and new wheels and tires. This video is a real world look at what it costs to build a car like this. If you're looking for a just simple cost breakdown on LS swapping an E30 then check out this video: • LS SWAP E30 COST!!

    What’s up bro love the build , was wondering if you know what rear setup I can go with currently building a forged motor but my rear won’t handle . Any options that won’t brake the bank super hard as far as driveshaft and axles go?

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  3 роки тому

      Thanks man! There’s no swap kits available for E30s for stronger rear ends which sucks. I’ve heard some people putting in E36 diffs and customs axles. But if I was making big power and wanted solid reliability I would go with a Ford 8.8 IRS rear end. They can be found in 2005 ish Ford explorers. Can handle insane amounts of power. The driveshaft shop can make you some super strong custom axles. It’s a little pricey but the best set up possible

    ? Don’t you need electrical connection for t56? I was looking at the holy terminator x an it don’t have transmission connector

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  Рік тому

      The T56 has a few connections on it, but none are needed to use the transmission in a LS swap.
      At the back of the trans there’s a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) which could be used to run a speedometer. For e30s the VSS is in the diff so no need to use it.
      There’s also a reverse switch on the trans. This is a basic switch that closes its contacts when the trans is in reverse. You can use this to trigger a relay to turn on your reverse lights. It’s not necessary to hook up, but some states may require you to have working reverse lights.
      The last connector is called CAGS (no idea what it stands for). Basically it’s a little solenoid that shifts the trans into 4th instead of 2nd when you’re driving under minimal load. Personally I think it’s pretty dumb, not necessary at all.

    Would you guys do a custom build similar to this one? Like drive train wise

    • @slightlyMADcustoms
      @slightlyMADcustoms  3 роки тому +1

      Possibly, but unlikely. Paying labor on a build like this very quickly gets into the 10's of thousands of dollars, and most people just don't want to spend that on an E30. You're probably better off waiting and buying an already swapped car that you like!
