😍excellent interview why don't the young men come together and organize themselves talk with the official that is over the serrakunda MARKET get some professional identification tags to say hey I'm self-employed small business man or women so they are protected from the harrasment . Also the official will have registration of who is officially in the market place to keep the confusion down another suggestion is with official registration you can also organize and approach larger business man to give back in the way of knowledge .. teaching classes on the level of their understanding to grow and take there business to the next level where they can afford a booth or container store in or near by the market
THIS is brilliant guidance!!!! We have to teach our young adults and people how civic engagement and public policy works in the field of community business and economic development. ✊🏾
I came across this video. As Gambian 🇬🇲 myself; my heart is bleeding for Gambian youths. Something needs to be done by the government to come up with a great strategy to help the youth. Creating jobs or on-the-job training. This should be one of the focus to help the youth because they are the future of tomorrow. Schools, jobs, and healthcare should a priority. With that said, I do respect the ones that are working hard to make ends meet instead of stealing just to survive. This is a great content. Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed watching.
I would call it a resale market and not black market. The trading authority can set standards for resale markets: vendor licensing, tracing, and other elements that increase consumer confidence and protect the traders from rogue sellers.
The quality and storytelling is on fire! 🔥 My brother you are going places! We need more stories from The Gambia 🇬🇲 The government need to do a lot more to support the youths of The Gambia. They are the next generation ✨and super talented 💯
Writing from India. I really enjoyed this video. It reminds me the days I used to hustle in this same place to make a living like these fellow boys. We all have to do some petty hustles before our calling of life happens.
This people really work hard to survive but sadly they don’t make much but patience is the only solution if you bear a beautiful patience, no matter what the Almighty tests you with, the reward is beyond your imagination Insha Allah🙏🏾. Bro you’re really doing great 😊, congratulations on such an amazing achievement, can’t wait to see your channel grow even bigger.
That’s ma enz I once work at black market as Raba Raba dude before moving out, I give this video a thumbs up 👍 cuz that’s exactly what’s happening at black market, the video melt my heart 😭😭 all I have to say is keep grinding never stop the journey continue it will be ok insha Allah 🙏🏾💯
Thanks for the video bro. You reminded me of Serrekunda black market.. I used to hustle at this place ten years ago. Everything said here is true, I really feel their pain, they're going through. God bless all the hustlers out there. I know what it means to wake up in the morning and come to this black market.
You should visit Aggrey street, Kariakoo Dar Es Salaam Tanzania 🇹🇿 Same experience with the police, people trading from mobiles to TVs and Cars. This is the life of youth in Africa
Thumbs up bro. These are very important interviews. Interviewing the cream of the society to know issues affecting them. We will have a perfect country if youths are included
thank you God for all the countless blessings of gratitude I am happy to be able to go to the birthplace of my beloved husband Gambia he loves me with all his heart
Great material. Like most policies that The government has got wrong this is a typical scenario. In order to mitigate the wrongful arrest of these young economic movers and shakers the government should setup a local "authority to sell" office within this jurisdiction where individuals who want to "cash out" any belongings can obtain a "permit to sell" on producing a proof of identity document. this "permit to sell" would be handed to the 'black market trader' by the person trading the item. The black market trader would have to keep this as 'evidence of lawful purchase'. This would create a temporary solution to the wrongful arrest and extortion of these young self driven men/women. Thumbs up for the content in this video.
This is amazing work! I would have loved to hear from anti-crime unit’s perspective and Ministry of Trade. Regardless, I know firsthand that arrests made by the anti crime unit are mostly unjust and arbitrary.
I am a Gambian living in Abroad nearly all this boys I recognise them and the market is very important for me the time I was there from high school banjul to Serrekunda but it give me experience even here fast life but not illegally
renewable energy will bring more comfort to rural region as well as towns. a battery, an inverter and a fridge for business, an air-condition for a store or shop, lights for school, streets and work places etc
Great content, I must say with a good focus, some law enforcement authority officials are known for harassing and extorting people you did good putting it out their.....
Thank you for sharing that content that was well appreciated very informative. I do have a question did most Gambians have identification in that area?
I'm in America and this video made me angry, because I know with the right political leadership and the brothers who have been to techical schools and understands science of computers and cellphones and the like can become great innovators and creators of new ideas in the world of technology. With the right help these same guys in the market place can create a high tech corporation just as other nationalities create in there countries. This can be done right there in the Gambia. Just takes the right leadership who cares and loves the people.
Very interesting video. I like it. I used to be very frequent at th Black Market before I travelled. Though I was a teacher but I loved tech gadgets. I think the police should stop collecting money from the Boys on false accusations some of them are very hardworking really.
Hello brother is very easy to deal with this matter. Anyone come to sell something to you tell him or her that am going to take a of you and your ID in case of something happen I can if you just like here US if that happened they will have less problems. Because people also need there things if they lose they will go to police ❤but you are the best you did nice job
Interesting piece of work is really sad and honestly is all mix feelings cus is no doubt most stolen item r been sold at the black market n authorities most do something also but police should also consider our brothers too, I think there should be a dialogue
You need a new President a young person who really cares about the people. Instead you vote same in after knowing he does nothing for the young and future of Gambia. We all know of the corruption and it will never stop as long as there's poverty. I feel for the genuine people of Gambia the whole situation is getting worse and now with the situation of Ukraine will only get worse.
Just out of curiosity what kind of jobs do you think are required for youth men to enable them to provide a stable income outside of selling phones in your opinion?
Is true that some are good but sometimes yiu come up with some bad fells. Sterling and scamming innocent people I bought a bad phone from a guy and he disappeared in seconds, someone else saw me with the phone and said he will buy it without checking anything. I had a bad experience there just saying my part

I do not think anti crime is necessary
It is very necessary deh
