Who else remembers when Drake & Josh paid homage to this with sushi?
I was thinking of Peter and quimare doing this with pharmacy pills
Who?😳
@@countryboyblue21 ah...ah...ah...ah got a wicked bonah
@@robertlefeaux glad to see that someone else remembers that episode of Family Guy
saw drake and josh before this....now I love it even more
I bet this was the funniest thing on TV at the time. Just hearing members of audience burst out in genuine uncontrollable laughter is something I don't hear too often on modern shows.
Because back then there was a actual audience now we only have recorded laughter
@@workinprogress4947 Having an audience wasnt that common back then. This is the show that pioneered using 3 cameras and a live audience. After the success of I Love Lucy, shows in the late 50s and 60s increasingly started using live audiences
I don't know if you ever heard of Drake & Josh, but they did an exact parody of this scene but with sushi and while I wasn't born in time to see I Love Lucy, I think of the Drake & Josh parody periodically because it's one of the hardest laughs I ever have.
@@jase276 lol i grew up to seeing that scene lmfao. drake and josh, and all the old nickelodeon shows were the best. i do wish i was born for a moment to see what it was like back in the 50s. its true, i remember looking back at my humor in 2012-2015 or seeing my posts on social media and absolutely cringing. Like how can a dancing cat make me laugh so much? Time capsules and cultures are so important to those specific time frames. Almost a hundred years later and the show still makes new generations roll of laughter. Such a timeless masterpiece.. lucille ball is the queen of comedy
@@jase276
So did MLP and Family Guy.
The best part was when they got home that night tired and exhausted, Ricky and Fred had a giant box of chocolates for each of them! :D
and they nearly puked
😂😂😂😂
its like a fever dream lol
This is one best scenes in television history. Timeless and classic, it still holds up today. Cracks me up every time. It also strikes me in a deeper way as beautifully human, instinctually relatable.
This and The Andy Griffith Show are the only TV shows from before my time that I actually like.
And transcends cultures. You could do this without any English dialogue and know exactly what is being said
@@coopaloopmex : That is why "I Love Lucy" is one of the most famous American sit comedies that have been translated into several languages and is shown to this day all over the world. Human nature is identify here regardless of language and or cultural mores.
This is my type of comedy, plus my mental age is like- 50 and my real age is 12 1/2 I like it tbh
This scene was reused in Drake and Josh and Family Guy!
Week 1-2 of college: "Hey this workload is nice and easy!"
Week 3 of college:
Had a bit of a reverse experience in the physics class. First 6 weeks was like: Hey, we have to carry in extra chairs and some people end up standing! Surely this class needs a bigger lecture room?
6 weeks later after the first test results came in, there was room to spare. The first two rows were unoccupied. It all made sense...
Painfully accurate
Oh god my psychology class in community college was tough. The professor straight up said that more than half of us will fail and you're lucky if you got a D+ in her course. She would talk out loud about up coming assignments while we were taking quizzes, you only had 3 minutes to finish and take notes on the next assignments simultaneously with trying to finish the quiz. Final exams, you had 10 minutes, if you didn't finish in that time, she would fail you.
I shockingly got a B+ in her class.
@@Shadywolf09 I dropped my Psychology class the third week sadly didn't get my money back but it was a painful lesson working the night shift and go to school at the same time.
it sounds like the class was the psychology experiment @@Shadywolf09
1:40 The manager couldn’t hold her laugh when she saw Lucy XD
Omg you're right 😂
Can't say we blame her
"I think we're fighting a losing game"
...a slow day at UPS.
I used to work in a sort aisle at UPS. When I was asked "what do you think?" After my first day I said "I feel like Lucy and Ethel in the chocolate factory."
Or any package handling place, I worked at FedEx for 6 months
THIS SCENE IS STILL A CLASSIC AFTER 68 YEARS.
the laughter from the crowd is so genuine and contagious lol
I love Ethel’s reaction at 1:10 when she sees that first one disappear into the next room.
I think I’ve done that once or twice after dropping something hahaha
I love this scene. Every time I see it I laugh. Lucy was such a gifted comedian. Her facial expressions and acting skills are incredible.
Ah back when a live studio audience meant something! 🤣
“Well, fine. You’re doing splendidly. Speed it up a little!”
I thought she said speed it up, Arlow. Like the guy's name that was controlling the belt.
Lucy and Ethel's faces when she says that are priceless. "Oh crap!"
O__O O__O
The was just comedy genius
@@billgateskilledmyuncle23 If you slow the video speed down you can hear her say "a little"
Drake & Josh “I Love Sushi”
Lol thats right they did an episode similar to this, thats funny never knew they got it from this show
Fresh Prince it’s called I love sushi because of this show “I love Lucy” lol
CREDITS ROLL FILMS
OMFG😂😂😂
I just caught that
I almost remember when that episode was new
Peter and quimare did this with perspiration pills as well
@@countryboyblue21 Peter got a wicked boner 😆
The part that always cracks me up is at 1:47 when this long train of chocolates connected together all come out. It’s like the guys placing the chocolates on the conveyer belts enjoy torturing the people in the wrapping room. Starting them out easy then breaking them in quickly hehe
That or maybe the manager woman set them up this to be able to fire them.
They should Colorize all the Episodes and bring this show up to date. This footage looks great!
This show is still Comedy Gold!
This never gets old, I laugh everytime !!!!
I watched a couple of episodes recently of "All in the Family"- very edgy when it was new. It got OLD, dated, creaky. "Lucy" is fresh as a daisy.
@@akrenwinkle Never cared for All in The Family -- too much yelling.
@@dianetheisen8664 I recall a lot of yelling in Lucy, too. It was just a better show that holds up better.
I remember this playing in a restaurant when I was probably 10 and I literally was suffocating on my own laughter
Oh. I remember a similar scene on Drake and Josh, had no idea it was a reference to this
>reference
yeah, right.
@sos sos It's been 3 weeks so I am not sure what I meant, but pobably I meant that Drake and Josh repeated jokes from 70's and 80's sitcoms and movies many times that some people on [tv] accused writers ripping-off other sitcoms.
Also there is something I heard that is called "script writer's lifecycle". Basically it means that sitcom writers after some time, when they can't write new jokes, work on teen comedy shows, and they re-use same jokes that used before. I remember its called "Microwave-ing", using same jokes on your joke book that you used before, but this time for a new type of audience.
@sos sos So I have something similar to a joke book too, I found funny or interesting things I heard over the years, I was going to give an example, but Internet humour changed a lot more than I expected.
Anyway, here's some jokes I collected from 2013:
Big girls don't cry. They eat.
(And this one probably about Spanish Revolts of 2013)
If the government releases that much gas to people, it's near they'll shit themselves.
I am glad I didn't wrote any of these.
Really, you didn't? Wasn't the scene during the credits of that episode enough of a clue? It was in black and white and inside of a heart.
Same with family guy
This is weird to watch in color. I'm use to watching it in black & white on Nick @ Nite. 😊😂
This is so true, I live to see Lucy in black and white not color that's not how lucy was for me
Same. I would go to bed and turn on Nick @ Nite and always look forward to I Love Lucy the most. I didn't care if it was in black and white. Lucy in color just feels off.
I love this show and even though I'm 27 I use to drive my parents crazy cuz I love all of this old school shows they always said I'm a old lady stuck in a young body lmfao thank you for this clip she was very beautiful 🥰
This and the grape stomping is my favorite scene...Lucy was a genius
When I was little and watched the 🍇 stomping scene, I got scared because I thought Lucy was getting hurt by that woman. It was kind of traumatizing I remember.
Don’t forget about “Vitametavegamin” that was a classic also.
Well, if you look it up, Lucy almost did get injured in the Grape Stomping scene, the Italian woman got carried away, the crew was unaware that Lucy almost Drowned.
Attending and graduating from nursing school is one of the hardest tasks I have accomplished in my life. For some reason, this scene remains me that. I don’t regret it.
LMAO as the first time and every time ever since. She was the best.
I've seen this hundreds of times since I was a kid. Here she comes and the frantic scramble gets me everytime. Genius.
Still one of the funniest scenes in any sitcom ever.
I hope the entire series gets colorized! It looks amazing.
I like that cbs started coloring them and playing a “new” one every holiday season. Maybe just Christmas, or maybe Christmas and thanksgiving. Or some random anniversary year. Gives them an excuse to keep playing the show on prime time cbs and keeping the show alive with a slightly new reason to watch,
I will always love ❤ the black & white series, that's what I grew up on. However, having said that, I love ❤ the colorized version -- it's almost like a new show with our favorite redhead.👩🦰
I like when she just gives up and starts putting it down her shirt. 😆
LET THE SUSHI ROLLLLLLL

But don't forget the grape-stomping episode!
I have a Lucy of my own. She adores this episode and I absolutely adore her. You outta hear her laugh see her smile... Thanks for giving me so many fond memories Lucy n thank you to my Lucy for coming into my world and adding some much needed strength to my heart beat. I Love you
May God keep Lucy and her cast forever in his grace & countenance. I believe Lucy and Joan are having great laughs together.

I recently rewatched Phineas and Ferb: Into the Second Dimension and finally realized they reference this scene lol

Such A Classic Episode, I Love Seein It In Color!.
I’ll admit I’m Gen-Z, but I prefer Drake & Josh. Besides black and white sucks anyway.

I saw every episode of “ I love Lucy “ back in the day, so funny and brings nostalgia, loved them! 🥰
Awe, man. That was so hilarious. I’m a bit delirious from feeling sick and unenergetic. This definitely made me feel better.
Such a classic!
Probably one of my top favorite episodes ever. I’m not old enough to say I watched it when it first was aired but growing up I binged it on Nick at Nite. I even had the board game at one point.
Omg this is one of my favorites!! Hilarious, lmao 😂😂😂 and with a pop of color, ❤️ love it either way ❤️ needed this laugh... Thanks for uploading.

my grandmother died when she was 98 years old, she watched this and I love Lucy on request before she died and told me that this was back when the world had glimpses of sanity still, then she died 2 days later...amen granny...amen
A funny scene from an equally funny episode. Love the color version!
Such an iconic scene.

I would love to see more of the country house episodes. The one where Lucy gets on the neighbors lawn mower is hilarious 😅
And colorized--how amazing would that be?!
The fact that 3 shows reference this scene shows that it stood the test of time
Amazing this episode is among the favorites of many people. This was my first introduction to Lucy
so THIS is where they got the Drake and Josh idea from!
Indeed. There was a reason why the episode was titled, "I Love Sushi." An homage to I Love Lucy.
One of my most favorite episodes 😂😂😂😂😂😂
They had an imitation game of this at the county fair when I was a kid and it was hard!!!!!! But it was even harder because no one could stop laughing

OMG this is hilarious!! The lady her self was abut to burst laughing 😆
My aunt had this adorable knick knack of Lucy and the candy. You could manually move this tiny little conveyor belt with a knob. Loved it
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 this never gets old!!!
*I love this show so much!*
This is the famous scene from the 1950s black and white show.❤ I miss these people. I think the blonde girl is a professional singer.😮
Oh my God, Lucy show so loved in India in 1983-84. Lovely serial and lovely years. Lots of love from India.
The perfect show, the perfect cast. I think it’s safe to say “I Love Lucy” will be shown somewhere on television forever. Of course everyone loves the “Fab Four”, but out of the supporting cast, I’ve always loved Doris Singleton. When Lucy says Betty’s new furniture looks like “a bad dream you’d have after eating too much Chinese food”, you can’t help laughing and feeling sorry for her all at the same time. A few years ago my husband gave me the Christmas present I’ve always wanted. An 8x10 glossy of Lucille Ball, autographed of course. It’s from the 40’s, she’s wearing an evening gown with a beautiful fur coat. It hangs in our living room.
This is the most fantastic & funniest episode of The Lucy`s Show ever!!.I can`t stop at laughing, every time I watch this so glorious episode!!!.
Omg this is one of my favorite episode 🤗🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fabulous!
This is pure comedy. No words needed. Physical comedy like this is hilarious and can be understood by every culture and ethnicity, regardless of language. Similiar to the TV show "Mr Bean".
I literally CRIED laughing when she just said the h with it and just started tossing all of the chocolate down her shirt @2:02...hahahaha wasn't even trying to wrap it or eat it..hahahahahaha
Me and my granny love this episode ! Oh and I loved seeing this in color.
