Congratulations on the new tractor. I have a 2018 1025r also. Regarding the backhoe, I put on the Bxpanded quick disconnect and have the root ripper, six inch trencher, and the John Deere 12 inch and 16 inch. This combination has worked great for me. Have fun!

Deere made all the right changes in all the right places on that new 1025R... You're going to LOVE those new loader and backhoe valves! Multifunction on both is not only available, but useable over a much greater range of joystick positioning. No more 'sweet spots'. Congrats! ... still looking forward to some 3R vids in the near future ;-)

So happy for y'all! Glad you got another 1025R. I bleed orange myself, but it would hard to imagine Johnny 2.0 in anything but green. Enjoy and keep those great videos coming.

Ken's bolt on hooks are awesome. Make the FEL bucket much more versitile and they are easy to install. That said, take your time and make sure your tools and such will reach where they need to to complete the installation.
I have pallet forks too. I think if I didn't have the bolt on hooks I would likely use the forks more than the bucket. But with the hooks and a shackle, I can pick up pretty much everything.

Congrats. You will enjoy the 2018. I upgraded from a 2013 1025r to the 2018 1025r in Oct because I wanted to add a backhoe but I liked the looks and spec on the 260B. You will find the hydraulics are smoother and it is easier to feather the SCV to almost do lift and curl together. The hydraulics on the 260B are fantastic and smooth. I look forward to you showing the many improvements you will make to Johnny II. I still need to install my TKV20 MCS that I purchased after seeing your video. Good times ahead. Now get Johnny dirty.

The half inch lift height difference is just the tires worn down that much over the years haha and as I'm writing Courtney mentioned the tires. All equipment is a her , cause they're great when everything works and when things go wrong they snowball down hill fast.

Congrat's on your new tractor. I didn't know where to put this comment, so figured most recent is best. I am a 62 yo single female and just did a full service on my awesome 1023 E. Patti,
Thanks very much for your encouraging comment.
I'm glad you felt confident enough to tackle the service for yourself. Quite a rewarding feeling once you get it done!
None of it is extraordinarily difficult, but it DOES help to see someone else go through it.
Would be interesting to hear how you use your 1023e...(what tasks it performs for you).

@@TractorTimewithTim I use my tractor daily. I have two acres, horses, chickens and dogs. Most of the tractor use is manure management, dragging the arena, unloading hay. I only have the strength to get my hay 2 high ( each bale is 90-110 lbs) with the forks I am able to get it 4-5 high as needed. I have used my 1023E to move heavy equipment, take out dead vegetation and give my grandson rides. My tractor was the best investment I ever made !

We have owned since brand new1979 a john Deere 332 compact tractor and it still runs great with 2700 hours working on 15 acres 3 acres is grass 60 in lawn attachment and 40 inch snow blower. Just think Deere makes great stuff, I use to restore old cars but to old for that but finished a complete restoration on the tractor and all the attachments, looks and works like new. The local john Deere Dealer Huron Tractor in Stayer Ontario Canada was a great help finding a lot of nos new parts.

I have an older 2305 and love that little sucker! Tons of hours and still kicking, heck we even have a 1965 model 50. We just bought a brand new 5055e that has spent more time in the repair department than at my place, hydraulics keep loosing pressure no overheating. I'm getting very frustrated with it!

I think it's says a lot about the ability of a 1025r that you purchased another one. Even when many of your attachments could have been used on a 2025. I bought a 1025r because I seen what Johnny could do. John Deere got it right with the 1025. Bigger is not always better.

The 1023e & 1025r are great all around tractors. The fact that you can put a belly mower on it and use it as a regular mowing tractor then switch over to a loader with the deck still on makes it so versatile and quick. Tim influenced my purchase greatly. I bought a 1023e brand new almost 3 years ago now. Don’t regret my purchase one bit. Tractor mows like a dream. The loader is very capable as well. Would love to get a backhoe for it eventually. I went with the 1023e because it was cheaper and i didn’t need the extra hp because i don’t use many pto driven implements. Only have 56hrs on it in 3 years. Time for the 50hr service. Gotta get on that soon.

My 57 520 is my OL GIRL. shes a good Ol Girl. Hasnt really let me down. I remember when the main bearing went out dad had a heck of a time putting the crank output gear cover back couldnt get it back on so he put some fence wire on it to make sure it couldnt fall off and went in for the night. Came out next day try for all its worth to take it back off wouldnt so tried going on the rest of the way and it slipped right on. Dad was confused and pissed. Why it went on easily after leaving it half on pissed he spent so much time dinking with it. Got some great memories of dad and gramps. It would kill me to get rid of her

      2025R is a nice tractor.
I have never said anything negative about it.
I think I have explained this in quite a lot of detail in response to other comments, and in the Christmas Day video.
We plan to get a second, larger tractor at some point in the future.
The 2025R is not large enough to cover those needs.

There is only one bummer about having one of these that I have found. well two actually.. I hate the damn rops bar. And here in Wisconsin, not enough to do with the tractor in the winter time. Plenty of snow plowing ... but all those other toys can't be used until it warms up again... One of these days, I will find another use for the tractor in the dead of winter.. With dual snow blade setup I have, even the plowing does not take that long now.

Congrats guys! Maybe you have cursed the previous owner for leaving that plastic on the seat. I removed it best I could, but I think I have to take the seat apart to get it all. Looks like the yellow was covered before the seat was assembled. Let us know how you handled that. Regarding the new backhoe, I'm wondering what you will think of the two seat setup compared to your old tractor. Nice that you don't have to worry about the backhoe stabilizers leaking down.
