  • So... This went about 20 min longer than I intended, sorry! This is a walkthrough of how I make a track on the Hermod as well an overview of the Euclid effect, mod matrix and general tips on building a sequenced synth-based song.
    External synths used in this video: Moog Grandmother, Roland Juno 106, DSI Tetra

    I just tested Hermod for the first time today and after learning for a few hours I came here to see how it really should be done ;-) Great stuff Jordan, thanks, I subscribed.

      Thanks so much! I still love and use mine as the center of my eurorack sequencing!

      @@JordanColburn1 That is pretty epic after so many years!

    I had to replace the video to fix a sync issue, but @d1g commented on my other video "Great, just long enough 😀 hold step and press 'x' to delete all events in current track 👍" - So that is the super helpful shortcut I was looking for in this video. Thanks!

    Nicely explained especialley those cv ins attributes, that are always overlooked on most of the tutorials. Thanks a lot..

    thanks for this demo. Very nice to see it use in a practical context. Seems like a pretty powerful sequencer.

      @@JordanColburn1 If you have Ableton Push 2, I'd like to see it work with Hermod.

      @@CarlsbadSGP2007 Wish I did! I've never used one, but I can imagine a few workflows. 1: Sync hermod to ableton and just use them in tandem. 2: use push to record a lot of crazy modular clips using hermod sequencing and modulation to make a lot of variations of the theme, then perform/launch with push/ableton. 3: Use hermod to sequence virtual instruments inside ableton 4: Use push as a midi controller and capture the modulation in the hermod sequences for expressive control. Good luck!

    The issue with recording at the beginning of a track is resolved with the most recent Hermod update. Course you've probably seen this. Press X and the O and the track will be on pause until it receives midi input, as in from an external keyboard/device.

    • @JordanColburn1
      @JordanColburn1  3 роки тому +1

      Yes! And if you hit o again, it stops and sets the tempo and bars like a looper. I haven't used it in a live performance video yet, but did do some composition with it and it's really fun!

    Nice video! Do you find when changing projects there is a slight drop out in audio only very slight but noticeable? Not sure if that’s the same with everyone and that’s the fastest it gets. It stays in sync but sounds like it has stopped snd then started. Same with saving that always stops my sequence

    • @JordanColburn1
      @JordanColburn1  3 роки тому +1

      Id have to check again because I haven't used it that way a lot, but I do think I experienced that the other day when loading a new project.
