This is an all-in-one washer dryer combo meaning it washes and dries automatically in a single machine with no need to transfer the load. The first all in one washer dryer combo was released 70 years ago in 1953 and they’re very common in Europe, but the top complaints of most combo units are that the clothes either take too long to dry or they don’t get dry enough. But if you are like me and your current machines are older and both are in need of replacing or you are shopping for a new set, then this combo unit should be considered because the price is similar to a new 2-piece washer dryer set except this has an advantage of being a single machine which is simpler and saves space. GE’s tagline for this combo unit is “1 machine that lets you wash and dry a large load of laundry in about 2 hours” so we’ll put that to the test soon, but let’s go over the other main features. Like most new laundry machines it comes with many pre-defined cycles but I’m a simple man so I almost exclusively used the normal cycle with cold water on my previous machines, but this GE has a new Eco Cool Cycle which I’m a big fan of as it saves maximum energy using a specially designed cold-water wash and efficient dry cycle that is supposedly comparable to a warm water cycle. Another feature I really love is the smart dispenser which allows you to put in enough detergent and fabric softener for 32 loads and the machine will automatically dispense the correct amount for each load so you don’t have to put it in each time you do laundry which is a huge time saver. The Profile series not only brings smart features and app notifications but it actually learns how you do laundry over time and tries to optimize it and will stay up to date with the latest software releases which improve the experience. Another large load I did which weighed 12.2 pounds it estimated 2 hours 7 minutes and it actually took 2 hours 15 minutes so the estimated time is pretty accurate but based on my experience it’ll take about 5-10 minutes longer than the estimate. I combined bed sheets with towels and clothes and put it on the delicate cycle and when it finished only the bedsheets were dry so I had to run the rest in the dryer but that answers another question: yes you can use this machine to do a wash-only or a dry-only cycle. But obviously the best thing about this machine is that it’s a large enough all in one for my laundry needs, and I don’t have to transfer the load. I’m satisfied with this GE Profile Combo to the point where the only downside I can think of is that since I use un-scented laundry detergent my clothes kind of have that brand new appliance smell to them which isn’t necessarily a bad smell just noticeably different but I’m assuming that will go away after a while or I can just get a scented detergent. Another downside for some people may be that you can’t really use dryer sheets in this unless you manually insert them before the dry cycle begins.

Had this for about a week now, honestly life changing! Completely agree with the fact that laundry is now not a big long chore day, we used to have to wait until the weekend to do laundry which then piles up and it ends up keeping us home on the weekend for a big chunk of the day to make sure we don't leave loads in the wash. Now we can just do a load every other day and not dread having to fold 3-4 loads at a time and it freed up our weekends!
Mine is being delivered tomorrow! So excited ❤ I live in a loft without ventilation, this is going to change my life.
We love ours. I was extremely skeptical because of some bad FAKE reviews dated before product was ever on the market. No special out let needed and no dryer vent needed and no dryer sheets or balls needed. You get a message when to clean the dryer vent. You get a message when to refill your liquid detergent. Luv luv luv this.
I love the no vent feature because they can be a deadly problem if the vents are not professionally clean
I recently bought this ge combo and i must say this review is honest and genuine. Love this machine. Only cons so far is the weight of the machine, at first the rubbery manufacturing smell and the blue microban ring gets dirty fast so must wipe it or run self clean cycle constantly. Other than BEST LAUNDRY UNIT EVER CREATED
I love this unit. Have done 21 wash cycles in the last 11 days and it's been flawless so far. The delivery guy also told me he hasn't done a return on one this far.
Only 11 days in, but your laundry days have changed forever. Welcome to the UltraFast family 🔥
Pretty cool! We used washer/dryer combos in the Airbnbs during our trip to Paris and London. The advantages (ease of use…) and drawbacks (not everything dried…) are what we found to be true with those units.
So this GE unit sounds like a huge improvement. I love the electrical (110v) and venting (NONE!) features!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. We are not in need of replacing our ~10 year old front loaders (which are working really well currently), but when we are, I’m going to give this a serious look! I think it’d be just about perfect.
The UltraFast Combo is not only an improvement to laundry combos, but the future of laundry 🙌🏼 You will no longer have to worry about clothes not being properly dried thanks to our Heat Pump technology and unique airflow.
We look forward to having you as part of the UltraFast family! 🔥
Its 120v in the US, not 110v. 110 V was probably 55 years ago.
Well we sold our 3 year old LG units to get this GE combo. No regrets 😅
@@fyoukungflu5881 110 is what this machine uses. Outlet power is 120
No venting required?
I love @ 10:32 the little "pat" on the machine's head you gave it saying "good work". 🤣
I've had mine for a month and I absolutely love it!
Andy, that is exactly what I thought when I looked at this stellar idea. I was looking for a Heat Pump type of Dryer, but I also need a more efficient front load washer (they usually rotated on the spin-dry about twice the speed of a top lad, Kudos to you GE! My dryer is dying and washer is piratically end of life, perfect timing. I need to shave about 4,000KW/hr from my yearly use to go solar with little or no electrical requirements from the grid, so this machine and my heat Pump hot water heater should just about be there! No more throwing 5,000 watts of heat outdoors along with my heat pump air envelope!
Glad to help! This will be right up your alley! More energy efficient than ever before! 💯
If this goes on sale for $2,000 again I am definitely picking it up. The idea of not transferring loads and auto dispensing the detergent is genius!
Best buy raised the price to almost $3k! Apparently it's selling well enough for them to price gouge people
It’ll be 2100 until Christmas at a lot of places
Man this would be a game changer in Boston and NYC where apartment are too small for 2 units. No more load transfer just wash, take what needs to be air dry and let the dryer function take over . Plus a king size comforter equal to several pairs of jeans
I am an Appliance Tech. I have a contract with GE to work on machines that are still under factory warranty (less than a year old).. I have only seen 2 of these so far. Cool technology. But what a nightmare it’s gonna be to diagnose and repair! Luckily for me I’ve yet to have to take one apart.. I’m dreading the day I have to actually repair one lol
I will say that this technology is smart. Barely uses any electricity compared to a traditional washer and dryer set up. Even though it runs for about 10 hours! Depending on the cycle selection it can take 2 hours to wash and dry then it can take 8 hours to dry out the machine with their Ultra Fresh Vent System. Which helps prevent that nasty mold (that builds up on the door gasket of most front load washers)… seems to work better than just leaving the door and detergent drawer open after a load
Planning on getting one in the near future! Thanks for the review.
This is pretty cool and probably consider buying one in the future. The only issue which is preference only is that I really like top end loaders more but could potentially be a future version of this model. Great idea GE!
I have this and love it. I do wish it was easier to clean out the debris that land in front of the first filter, and that it had some warning for overfill (which thankfully I've only done once)
Thanks for making this video. I've been using LG's Combo Ventless Washer/Dryer for quite a few years now and its great to see another company improve on the technology. Honesty I had no idea another company had taken a stab at a Ventless Combo Unit. Any company that does seems to only make units that are well below 4 cubic feet capacity!
My he LG often takes 4-6 hours to wash and dry for most normal and large loads and while its still worth the efficiency savings and convenience it still can be a bit of a lifestyle adjustment. Really intrigued by wash and dry times you had that are closer to 2.5 hours!
Really hoping GE commits to this technology.
Purchased the same unit over a month ago and so far have run 10+ loads through it. This is a game changer. We love it! Yes, takes longer then a separate washer and dryer, but you never have to switch out the load to the dryer, so that saves time. And it is more energy efficient and we are all about that. If you do more than 3 loads per day, this unit may be an issue. But think it through. Run a load in the morning, one at lunch, and one at dinner. Easy. Also, the extra space I have in my laundry room is a huge plus.
Others in review have stated over 4 hours for a load? What are you seeing and do you agree?? Does it come in gas too??
I started to think of basics , example, white and color’s separated. Two loads. So this machine will wash and dry those two loads . That’s a lot of wear and tear on the machine . +100% in working labor time vs typical washer and dryer which splits the working time and duration of wear.
Do you rally save time when this will break 2x faster vs typical washer and dryer setup. ? Or what if dryer or washer aspect of it fails?
We love the fact that you love your Combo! 🙌🏼
The unit, like us, is all about efficiency 🔥
@@fyoukungflu5881 The final time of a full load will always vary slightly depending on the type of load (large/small, type of textiles, etc.). If the Combo has the latest software update, the drying performance will facilitate times to be closer to the 2-hour mark 👌🏼
The unit does not come in a gas option, [primarily because our engineers cracked the code for the amazing Heat Pump technology and airflow that dry your clothes just as efficiently! Just plug it in to a 120/110-volt connection, hot and cold water, a drain, and you're good to go 🔥
@@fyoukungflu5881 No, not sure why some are seeing that. All loads except one have been 2.25-2.75 hours. I had one that was at 3 hours since it was 2 large bath rugs and some towels... No gas option, but no need! Just a 120v outlet (standard wall plug) is all that is required!
Great video! Would love to get a follow up video after 6 months of living with it.
After several months of owning the GE all in one, the problem is the condenser after the lint filter is clogged with hair and no way to clean it out.
We are looking to replace our ancient washer/dryer next month, and mentioned this to her before...but I'll see if she'll watch this to get some more info and see what she thinks...seems like a great idea to me if it works.
We just got ours and I got it from American freight scratch and dent for $1400 bucks what a steal! And I’m not kidding when I say the “dent” is basically invisible on the side and I never even see the sides first day I had it I used it from sun up to sun down and loved lit worked flawlessly I hated laundry now I don’t mind it no more annoying back and forth forgetting it in wash I get home from work my clothes are dirty I slap them in this bad boy before bed and when I get up for work guess what they are washed and dry awesome love it! I did the weather stripping mod also few days after and that sure helps with lint getting past the filter no worries now
How is the water level during the wash? My Amana front loader uses less water than I would like. It is a trickle instead of a pool of water at the bottom of the load. Sometimes you wonder if it is enough to clean the load.
I bought one a few weeks ago and it delivers on Thursday! Super excited!
YOU….got ROBBED!!!
Heat pump combo unit is great for homes that are very tight on air leakage and are on a low energy budget.
Give it a few years and I am all in. I will sell my current washer dryer and upgrade. 100%
Love mine
..
Have a few tech tips already
..
I would want to have two just to fill the spacing. Plus you can get a lot of laundry done in a hurry with two of these bad boys.
At only 110V, that's more possible than most realize!
@@geappliances They each need their own circuit though, so most people will have to adapt their existing dryer plug, which is easy.
you could have rambled how it became efficient which is its heat pump, the same device that Tesla uses for better efficiency for heating. One Appliance channel told me that he knows the wholesale price of this and there's plenty room for discounts in the future. Current price is a bit steep costing as much as two appliances.
I ordered mine last week and I can't wait for it to be delivered.
@geappliances I see the "Sanitize with Oxi" setting..., which seems to be bacteria focused. I know from uncomfortable experience that the only good way to kill off norovirus (and many other viruses) for many fabric types (because you can't bleach the heck out of them) has long been to run the clothes through the dryer on high heat (the only time I'd ever do that). What is the strategy for dealing with that in GE heat pump dryers? (Otherwise they mostly seem like a fantastic idea.)
Question: regular dryers keep my clothes unwrinkled so i never have to iron or steam as long as i take stuff out the dryer as soon as the cycle is finished. I haven't seen anyone talking about how the combo unit handles clothes that need the heat to unwrinkle. Will i have to iron my clothes with this? If anyone who has this unit could answer I'd appreciate it!
Nice review thanks. I've only had mine a couple weeks but totally impressed with it. I think it works much better then my expensive German Meile.
Wonderful! Welcome to a whole new world!
I desperately need one of these, but the door opens in the wrong direction. It’s not reversible either.
Come on GE, develop one with the hinge on the right, or make it reversible.
I want that washer!
I am in love with this machine! However, it is far far far out of my price point. Plus, I love using dryer sheets. Does it have the ability to be stopped between so I could add my dryer sheets?
Yes, it has an option you can set called "Wash Complete" that will notify you on your phone via the app once the wash is complete so that you can add a dryer sheet. That will pause the machine for a couple minutes to give you time to add the dryer sheet.
I bought one a month ago. Can’t dry my clothes. Any tips
Sounds great unless you have multiple loads because of different types of clothing. With the traditional washer/dryer you can be drying the first load while washing the second load. I usually just put all my stuff into one load, but my wife invariably needs to run 3-4 different loads. Just an observation you missed.
I have a GE Combo too and loved it. I loved it until it died after two months. The drum stopped spinning and they say it will be three weeks before they can get someone out to even look at it. For a busy homeschooling family of six (including and infant and potty training toddler) I just don't have time to take everything to the laundry mat for nearly a month. Man, I loved that thing, but now it makes me mad to even look at it.
I have the LG one for 4 years and no problems since.
Beware of Bosch washers & dryers. Their heat pump dryer takes 2hrs. Both appliances are low capacity too. I recently bought a high capacity whirlpool washer & heat pump dryer because condo has no dryer duct or 240v power. It performs extremely well, provided you frequently clean two lint filters.
One thing I don't like about it is how short the pedestal is. I have a front load GE washer and dryer and the bigger pedestals make the height easier to load and unload.
I did like my 2 in one while in S. Korea but eventually it quit drying well and I got a stand alone dryer. However, the dried clothes in the 2 in 1 were always nice and not all static or crispy. lol I hate fabric softner.
"I hate fabric softner." - and rightfully so! Fabric softener is made of slaughterhouse waste (beef tallow).
Thank you Andy. This is really impressive.
Can you schedule the cycle? I always like to get my clothes out the instant it is done, so if I could schedule overnight to finish right when my alarm goes off, that'd be sweet
Yup, schedule it to delay start. So cool, wake up to a freshly finished dryer and no wrinkles. Does it all in the early morning :)
All dryers eventually clog up with lint.. somewhere. Where will this get clogged and can you easily access that area to clean it?
We are more than happy to clarify how lint collection works in this revolutionary unit! 🙌🏼
At 05:39, you can see the lint filter being removed from its location next to the dispenser area, so it is easy to access for care and cleaning. This filter should be cleaned after every 5th dry cycle by running your fingers across it. You can also learn more about this by referring to page 19 of the owner's manual here: products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--U_JpodJD--/bkzxogy5m10otpybsw5v.pdf
We hope this information was helpful, and we would love to see you join the UltraFast family 🔥
@@geappliances Thanks. But I was referring to the fact that all dryers build up lint internally whether they have a filter or not. A vented dryer, for example, has a filter, but the duct will still get clogged. The Profile Combo manual states: "The interior of the appliance should be cleaned periodically by qualified service personnel." That seems to indicate there is no easy way to clean the lint from certain places, like the condenser coils, is that right?
I’ve had mine for about a month - debating about returning it.. it’s great, but my t-shirts seem to have more fuzz on them now.. maybe because it’s less harsh in the dry mode? Thoughts?
What are you washing them with? I dont have fuzz on mine but they are more wrinkled than with the normal dryer.
Can you put water into the machine from the faucet? Or must it be connected into the wall?
If you have a large sink next to the unit, check the available accessories for the unit. We offer an adapter to connect the water hoses to your sink faucet!
Not a product I would've ever thought to even consider. Definitely sounds cool though
Nothing wrong with considering the most innovative way of doing laundry, but that's just us 😎
Where does the water go? Does it get condensed and pumped out the drain or something? That's one catch with condensing and heat pump dryers in that you have to empty the water tank after every load, but I don't see a water tank.
Nope, no water tank! Moisture collected during the drying process is drained out with all the other water!
An issue I have with mine is it’s located on the second floor and moves inside the closet a little bit each cycle and eventually hits the closet door. It also vibrates a decent amount shaking the ceiling of the floor below it quite a bit. I have removed the shipping bolts and brackets. Recently, I put 1 inch rubber vibration pucks underneath the feet but it’s solved the vibration issue only to introduce a new issue. Now the unit rocks back and forth quite a bit more than before the pucks were used. It used to rock around a quarter of an inch but now it rocks back and forth close to an inch when on spinning part of the cycle. Any ideas?
Thats sadly the problem with wooden floors, they are unstable. And those anti vibration mats made the washer swing
It is ventless. The lint is captured in a filter. BUT, where does the moisture go that is extracted during the drying cycle?
Moisture goes where it belongs! Down the drain with the rest of the water!
You CAN “vent” it into your refrigerator’s ice-making feed.
Why is this not available in Ontario Canada
The price is the thing holding me back a bit. I first saw it when it was $1999 and thought it was cool but a bit expensive then. Right now, it's like $2600. Technically the "MSRP" is $2900. I probably will bite the bullet if it goes back down. I think the 5 year old Samsung units that are working fine that I would be replacing were about $1300 for the pair. While the efficiency and convenience is awesome, I'm hoping we don't find out in a year after the warrantees expire about all the longevity problems with a more complex setup, i.e. lint in the condenser fins, hard to get support/service, etc.
This GE unit is really the only game in town at the moment - nobody else has anything comparable, and it's going to steal all the other laundry maker's lunch, eat their cookies, and give them black eyes in the higher end laundry category. Kind of hard to think of spending $2500 for a 'premium' Samsung pair. There's a larger capacity LG all in on unit, but I don't think it's anywhere on par with the tech/efficiency of the GE
GO ahead, pay TRIPLE. SUCKER!!!!
Here's a tidbit: Never, ever buy new technology when it hits the market. Remember the first laptops? $3,000. Microwave ovens? $300+ for a 1 sq foot non-programable, today same size unit $60 at walmart. 2 in 1 washer/dryer? wait 10 years, they will be one grand.
@@itjustlookslikethis This type of unit will ALWAYS be STUPID!!!! It will ALWAYS take 8 - 10 HOURS to do just TWO LOADS!!!!
JUST to “save” two MINUTES to transfer clothes to the dryer!!!! Ya GOTTA go back ANYWAY to put the second load IN!!!!!
@@itjustlookslikethis In 1973 we all went home from college at Thanksgiving break. ONE kid on our floor came back with a NEW $400 calculator. At the following Easter break my father got two of the SAME calculators for me and my sister. $40 each. 90% reduction in FIVE MONTHS!!!
@geappliances Unfortunately, my experience has been bad with the combo. Bought the combo 8 months ago and I'm on my 5th technician visit. The major repairs have involved a motherboard replacement due to the machine going dead. Next, the entire heat pump assembly failed. The product is so new the technicians have never seen it or been trained on it. Keep in mind, the 10 year limited warranty only covers the motor. There is only a 1 year warranty on the rest of the parts such as the motherboard and heat pump.
I love mine but there are some issues. The lint filter will not catch everything. You’ll need their brush to clean in there without hurting the fins on the condenser. Cotton shirts come out wrinkled. The auto detergent doesn’t have a lot of products to select from. So far none of the tide or downy versions I use are in their database. Got on sale for $1999
Hey! We're sorry to hear that the lint filter, SmartDispense, and the performance with cotton shirts on your Combo have not fully met your expectations.
For your lint filter, please ensure that the foam filter is being properly placed in the filter housing and make sure there are no defects to the filter housing and the foam. If this is not the case, please let us know via private message on Facebook or Instagram.
Our recommendations for the cleaning the lint that might get past the filter are the following:
* Clean the lint filter every five cycles as the display alerts them (not after every cycle)
* Clean the foam filter every 50 cycles as the display alerts them
* Clean the heat exchanger fins as needed (which should not be that often)
Regarding the SmartDispense products, we value this feedback, and we will make sure to share it with our product team so we can continue improving this feature.
To help with any wrinkles left after a cycle, we suggest using the "Wrinkle Care" option to stop any wrinkles from settling on your clothes. You can refer to your manual for more details about this feature.
Please let us know if we can provide further assistance. All the best.
@geappliances Do you know if this product will qualify for Inflation Reduction Act rebates? I'm limping my current laundry setup along until those rebates come out next year and would be interested in going from a gas dryer to this combo.
The cost is?
If it can’t dry completely, what’s the point?
How’s it going so far after 9 months? My wife and I have read reviews that the drying takes much longer and we’d have to do smaller loads than we are used to as well. Thoughts?
Still loving it. We just throw a load in and forget about it so drying time is a non-factor for us. We do about one load every other day.
@@aslye Some reviews are stating 3-4 hours for a complete cycle. I wonder if this is because people are used to stuffing their washers and then throwing them in their bigger capacity dryers with more space to dry. But since the capacity in these combo units are the same for washer and dryer, a smaller load needs to be done in order for drying to happen quicker.
Make more useful tech videos like this, I am actually interested in these types of videos besides tesla videos.
Great review. Just got a new W/D 4 years ago. I fully expect to replace my pair with a single unit down the road.
I always shake my clothes out when I transfer them from the washer to the dryer because that prevents wrinkles and helps the laundry dry faster. My clothes are often tangled together when I take them out of the washer. I can't imagine this machine would work.
I've had no issues to date. Seems to not tangle much in this front loading machine from what I see. And wrinkles have not been an issue either.
You might prefer the LG wash tower. Huge 16kg load capacity and seperate 16kg heat pump dryer. We love ours
Air...Fast moving air! The high speed fan and even contour on the inside of the door help air get under your clothes in the dry cycle to help fluff and separate the clothes. This allows for faster, more complete drying, and amazingly detangled clothes.
My unanswered question... Ventless Dryers are not new, the problem has always been... Where does all that water go? It must go somewhere and if that is in the air in the room then this is a problem. I would be much more interested in a unit that was efficient but sent the moisture out a vent or was collected and sent down the drain.
I have experience with 3 ductless dryers: Bosch; Asko; & Whirlpool . All of them pump the water into a drain via a thin pipe. Whirlpool has the highest capacity and fastest drying. It works very similar to a dehumidifier.
We are more than happy to answer your question!
You are correct, the moisture being extracted from the clothes must go somewhere, and, in this Combo, the heat pump evaporates moisture from the air (inside the unit), and sends it down the washer drain hose. The best part, the Combo will dry out the inside of the tub extremely well because of the dry cycle, so there is no need to leave the door open!
We hope that helps, and please let us know if we can help with other questions around this revolutionary unit 🙌🏼
My GE Combo W/D failed to dry clothes after 7 months of use. 7 tech visits, new heat pump, new mainboard, it still fails. Even after the W/D cycle and adding another 45 minutes to the dry time . . . fail. GE Cares fighting tooth and nail to NOT issue an RA #. Regardless of outcome I will NOT be going with GE due to horrible post sales support. How many of you have 4 days of PTO to give up while tech guess at issues?
If you don't us dryer sheets, then how do you stop the static on your clothes?
There is no static as there is no real heat. It uses a heat pump to draw out the moisture and then puts that water in the drain. Way less lint too! Our clothes come out warm and dry, so cool!
I know it uses a heat pump but that doesn't stop static which is caused by the clothes rubbing against each other.@@CameronCovey
@@Resist4 Yes, that would make sense but no dry heat running through the clothes definitely helps. We used to use a dryer sheet and dryer balls in our last dryer, now we don't use them and they come out static free.
Excellent observation! Answer: Air! Fast moving air, that's not too hot, pumps through the drum, surrounding and going through the clothes. This is much gentler than a conventional dryer which creates less lint and next to no static!
@@geappliances So, next to no static but not static free then. I'd be curious to see that in action, with only a load of synthetic clothing, since that type of material gets the most static.
$2,500?!?!?! My washer-dryer combo here in Germany cost me exactly €365 a few years ago. It has no WiFi and no bells and whistles, it just washes and dries 7 kg (whatever that is in American body part units) in one pass. Oh, and it has a regular 220V plug and no exhaust (of course, because dryers with vents are an environmental sin).
Tesla of Washer/Dryer!
I have an LG all in one and I like it - but half a hamper takes 4 hours. This would be a huge improvement - but like you said until mine goes I will still with what I got. Thanks for the fun review Andy!
I also worry about the cost of service on these things... Limited warranties are usually worthless..
Now imagine doing half a hamper in half the time 😎
Whenever you are ready, we will be here to help you join the laundry revolution, just let us know 🙌🏼
@@LJ-jq8og We're happy to say that our engineers worked hard for the past 7 years to make sure this Combo was everything they envisioned!
They also put this much time and effort to make sure everything works the way it should 👌🏼
We are confident that you will love the UltraFast if you give it a try 🙌🏼
@@geappliances HOPE 🤞 you are right... Appreciate you answering... Any idea what the typical "service cost visit" is for something new like this ⁉
@@LJ-jq8og We appreciate you reaching back out! This product has a 1-year limited warranty for parts & labor, plus a limited parts warranty for 10 years on the motor and 5 years on the drying sealed system.
Are these new in the US?
Combo laundry units are nothing new, but we completely revolutionized the concept 😎
No more long drying times and small capacities. This is the new way of doing laundry 🔥
Andy Nice informercial. Unfortunately at close to $3000.00 including tax this is out of 80% of the buying public budget.
They have had the. In Europe for years all my family have them.
It’s MORE than DOUBLE the cost of a WASHER AND a DRYER!!!!
thumbs up for Kentucky gang 🐎
They are popular in Asian cities with small living spaces.
With a regular dryer, you can clean the lint filter.
But you can't do this with a washer dryer combo.
Lint will be left with clothes inside the combo.
This has a 2 stage lint filter
Thanks. That’s an improvement.
@@wengliu Just like a regular dryer, we do recommend cleaning the filter after a few cycles (every 5 cycles would be best) for the best experience possible.
We hope to see you join our laundry revolution! 🔥
Awesome, I’m buying one! I’ll wait for a sale….
We can't wait to have you as part of the UltraFast family! 🙌🏼
And you will STILL get ROBBED!!!!
Combi unit
As a washing machine technician with 37 years experience, I’ll share my practical experience and thoughts.
There is almost no reason I would recommend this product. First up a separate FL washing machine and separate dryer (weather it’s a vented, condenser or last on my list a heat pump) would be a better option both by being cheaper to purchase, easier to maintain and service, more practical to use.
Ok, as for combination washer-dryers,, in the long term an absolute disaster for the consumer, here’s why, as the washing and drying process are in the same cavity the lint from the dry cycle gets stuck on to the soap and water residue from the washing cycle (in between the outer side of the washing bowl and inside the water collection tank and air vents) now the linty hot exhaust air travels there before any filter, as I mentioned before sticking in this outer bowl area, here it starts to rot and go mouldy. And within a couple of years starts to flake off and get onto your clothes looking like greasy stains (that’s what the mouldy lint-detergent mix turns into.
Secondly there’s the servicing of the unit, as it’s so enormous it’ll take a 2 man job to move it and disassemble (effectively doubling the repair cost) it and more than likely that’ll be a trip to the workshop as most laundry’s are too small to disassemble this kind of machine.
Then the weight of the unit, it’s around 300 lbs. that is double the average washing machine, if you have a stair case to access the laundry, forget about finding someone to deliver it
Any way, just my personal experience 🤷🏻♂️
I’d always recommend a separate washing machine and separate dryer, if front load stack them on top, if you have plenty of ventilation then get a vented dryer, if you have room for a top load wash machine GET ONE. As the best FL washing machine is a TOP LOAD washer IMHO
👍🇦🇺🤘
Well if you bought a Tesla you are a fool! I love my GE and simply hope it last as long as my LG set did!
Have heard so many BAD👺 things about COMBOS I look forward to you revisiting this again in 6 months and a year...
Luv mine. Just have to change your mind set about how you do laundry.
@@heatherking4151 My question always is WHAT WILL IT COST TO GET IT SERVICED ⁉
May not be for everyone……but…..I am 80 years old, cannot motivate the stairs to handle the laundry downstairs. Had this in stalled in a corner of my kitchen 2 weeks ago. I love, ❤love, ❤love ❤ it. Already had the 120 electric plug in, does NOT need a vent!!! Had water lines and drain installed. Been in business ever since.🎉 works like a charm.
@@shirleypreston8743 Lets see how well it works in 6 weeks, 6 months, 2 years ⁉ And, my unanswered question is how much will a service cost be ⁉ They are SCUM when it comes to service fees 👺 I wish you the best !
Same here. I was so close to buying it this summer during the sale but I heard mostly negative comments and I ended buying a combo. 😢
Come to the Covina HD and ask for me.
3000 USD!?!?
I think I'm good with my $400 washer and $400 dryer.
Jesus christ best buy raised the price to almost $3000! When this came out it was $2000
Do you delay start and wash at like 3 in the morning so it is done by 5 or 6 and you grab it when you get up? It must be so wrinkled if you dont? Even if you have the wrinkle guard you are just using more energy. This is great for Condo's and Apartments though for sure!! Maybe some households with redoing how you do laundry, but I am done with 3 loads in about 3 hours, I would not want to double or tripple that time or do launrdy more than 1 day a week, but I can see how it can be for some. It is a nice design, good vid! Do more tech reviews!
One negative I can think of is that because it’s both in one, you can only have one load going at a time. If you have a full family’s worth of laundry to run, you can’t start washing the next load while the last one dries. Still, I think that could be mitigated by breaking up laundry throughout the week instead of doing it all over a day or two. I’ll be keeping an eye on the long term reliability of this model and maybe when our current washer/dryer dies, this may be the replacement.
This is exactly what I was thinking. While one load is drying, I’m able to wash another load. So I would think this doesn’t save time? Also, without adding dryer sheets, which I use, I wonder if static cling is an issue??
Laundry days have changed forever 🙌🏼 You can also do what Andy did, and let the clothes wash and dry overnight (with some Wrinkle Care action) so you can wake up to clean laundry!
You can always get 2 units as well, like we've seen some people do, for double the efficiency 🔥
This UltraFast Combo is all about flexibility and changing laundry for the better 😎
@@robcastille3352 The benefit of the Combo is that you don't have to plan your day around doing laundry! You can go about your day for 2 hours to focus on other chores or errands, and your laundry will be ready to be put away when you come back 😎
Also, we are happy to let you know that the unit has a feature called "Wash Complete" that alerts you when the wash cycle is done, and it provides a time window to remove items and/or add dryer sheets.
Please let us know if you have any questions, and we'll be more than happy to help 🙌🏼
Serious if you have a ton of laundry buy two. It would take up the same amount of space
@@robcastille3352 Not much of an issue in our home. We use delay start. So cool, you wake up to a freshly finished dryer and no wrinkles. Does it all in the early morning :) Then start a new load. That is two done my mid-morning. (it is so easy we are just washing loads as needed and not even making a laundry day)
Is that Ed Norton's little brother?
Very nice but it's double the cost of a combo
It WILL take you SEVERAL DECADES to “make back” the excess cost via electricity savings.
110v dryer ???? No way ... if it was 220 ... maybe!
Had an LG model in Europe back in 1996. Only a novel idea here in the US.
way too expensive for me. And people buy 2 or 3 for their house?? wow. Where is the crisis?
One load takes all day great plan. They came out many years ago and were terrible then
so your take is that innovation is impossible and no product can ever be better than the ones that came before it? 🤔
Thanks. May I know if you cuold accept a paid collaboration?
This video suggests the answer to that question is a yes….
1 year warranty is scary, especially with the history of all in ones.
Andy - are you still happy with this purchase?
Like EV, just to expensive at the moment. when it gets to 1k i would defiantly get one.
this is the last type of video i expected from a car youtube, but cool!
Looks like a nice combo unit, however I boycott GE products as I am a victim of Identity theft by my ex wife and her family who all worked at GE Finance, and encouraged Identity Theft and pulled my Credit Reports multiple times, Her mother actually worked in the fraud department. Think about that. True story and caused me life-long problems.
Only problem if something happens/goes wrong…..you’re going to the laundromat..😩
That happens with the dual units too.
@@trevorward9680 not necessarily ….if the washer breaks down absolutely especially if you have jeans or bulkier items….with a dryer breakdown not so much unless it’s winter time because hopefully you can wring and line dry some items.
I loving mine ??? O shine it up and rub on it like my Harley's or hotrods... U cant be lazy with it ????
Oh no comparing it to a Tesla? I suppose it's similar because they both use electric! Lol
I have a Samsung combo in the Philippines. 2 years old. Worst appliance (for the investment) I ever purchased.
Takes forever to do a load & never fully dries. Been back to using a cheap Chinese $250 machine and drying on a clothesline.
It might be time for your laundry days to be revolutionized 😅
Our UltraFast Combo can wash and dry a 10 lbs. load in around 2 hours, and the Heat Pump technology and unique airflow were specifically designed to create a more efficient drying performance!
This is the future of laundry 🔥
