As someone who played the flute for about 5 years, I would have also lost my shit at having the chance to play that crystal flute.
“We still can’t believe you happened to us!” This is the best damn line Colbert has ever said! This is exactly how I have felt for the past 6 years. Having Trump as president was like falling into a twilight zone where reality was worse and more bizarre than my nightmares. But I couldn’t just wake up and discover everything back to normal, because I was already awake! This worst part was seeing, and hearing people who I had always believed to be sane and compassionate suddenly saying horrible, cruel, or just bizarre things as if it were completely normal.
It was a wild a surreal time, especially when others around you would feed into absurd and deranged propaganda. I used to work for a Fox affiliated station and I could not fathom all the crazy shit people would believe.
People who I thought were sane, turned on me like you would not believe.

History is taught wrong.
We should teach history like you tell a story.
We should not force people to memorize tons of names and dates for a test.
The easiest way to make something hard to learn is to make it boring to learn.
History is funny scary wholesome amazing and just as colorful as the modern day.

the podcast Hardcore History by Dan Carlin is like living in the history he talks about. I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone interested in history. I am jealous of people that listen to his lectures/lessons for the first time cause it leaves you in awe of what history class could and should have been.

Maggy Haberman, to me is like Peter O'Toole, James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman. The innate intelligence, the diction, her cadence, timber and tone of voice. Her ability to speak and command attention is extraordinary. A true joy to listen too! The fact that she is normally right in all things is definitely an added bonus.

The flute had only been played once before Lizzo played it during a visit to the Library of Congress the day before yesterday; she played longer in that less hectic environment. that flute sounds beautiful. This concert is the first time it's been played in front of a live audience. Yes, she added her own Lizzo flair to it; if you're not a Lizzo fan, so what? It doesn't change why this was a historic moment. A nation, scratch that, in an era where it's clear that not enough people know their history, and we may be about to repeat some of the worst of it, she may have convinced a lot of kids to consider stundying and then teaching history.
