I got all the parts in the mail not to long ago, forged pistons, rods, etc... Whole little rebuild and upgrade going on.
Haven't had much time to mess in the garage lately. It's looking more like a early spring project for me now with all the snow I got butchered with

siiik, i grabbed last summer an engine for this summer, it's replacing a 4g14 soch upping it to 3 valve sohc 4g15, so now if i'm lucky i can go up to 4 valves Dohc with the same block?! thanks for the can of worms I'm inevitably about to open!! :-} Stoked I know allot of the post 99 engine bays are the opposite side up here in da north, so the fact that this is a thing makes me stoked I can keep my old 82 spinning!

What timing belt did you use?
4G92 already come with 4 valve sohc.. this will add too little power at high rpm range,..but it will be mantainance free since its use hydraulic tappet..
the old type was 100% better , mitsubishi are known for shit ticky lifters aka mitzy tick like all dohc and later sohc mitzy engines, the old manual tappets, you get them perfect once and you don't need to go back unless you fukd up and they need adjusting
i had a 1988 mitzy L300 4x4 4G63 sohc 2 valve per cylinder and that was the first of the hydraulic lifters, it ticket like a bastard randomly , so does my 1999 mitzy mirage dingo
all my older cars(before 1985) have manual tappets and have been set and run really mint
one thing he forgot to do is add a oil restrictor, sohc engines need more oil to the heads, where a dohc heads use less oil and therefore need an oil restrictor
@@genmaxpain hello, nice tuto.. i have space wagon 1993. 4g63 sohc 16 valves. 133 hp. it is hydraulic lifters with big tick.. maybe i can clean my lifters ? i don’t want to change it all, it’s expensive. Just use the original dohc distributor

@@DIY_WorX hey boss, to be clear , im doing the same thing to my Proton wira.. converting 4G93 sohc to Dohc.. is it possible to fit 4G91 just like u did, but use 4G93 sohc engine mounts? As i know u have mentioned earlier its a tip to use 4G91 mounts.. distributor need to reuse the 4G91..
And how about the timing belts? Just buy Dohc 4G9x ? Is it the same timing mark for 91 dohc and 93 dohc ?

why are Mitsubishi parts so hard to find ?
the cylinder head in this video is off a 4g93p which came out it proton satria gti's and the 4g93t the turbo on came out in the 1993 gsr i have just 2 of the 4g93p engines chilling in my garage.
I have to ask what was all the smoking at the end?
Probably just steam, I washed the headers before installing them and once they got hot they evaporated! It went away after another few minutes of running the engine :)
