    Hi Kaitlyn. Haven't commented before, but wanted to say my twin brother and I enjoy your videos on deer hunting and the effort and success you achieve. Wanted to mention a tip. We use on our property a Black & Decker 40V lithium ion battery max hedge trimmer to clear shooting lanes, trail cam areas, and walking paths. They cut 3/4 inch branches & it only weighs 6.9 lbs. It is much faster than pruners or bypass loppers. Best of luck this fall to you!!

    I put cameras out about 3 weeks ago, one by a stand I hung last year, one by a high traffic area going into bow season and two on a new piece I got permission to hunt. Everything was pretty quite but about three days ago everything started transitioning into the pattern they'll be in for early bow season. Excited to see what it turns into.

    Katelyn, if you take a picture in selfie mode holding your cell phone aligned on your trail cam you can double check how its aimed and what to expect when you get picturing from your trail cam. Just a quick tip to add to you hunting scouting using trail cams.

    Wind shake pics can be disastrous for filling up your sd card and draining your batteries. I try to find leg size trees to put them on or a trail cam mounting stick that stabs in the ground. The mounting sticks can be placed about anywhere so no tree or fence post is needed. If you put cameras on small arm size trees for example, even with no weeds in front of them, the wind can shake the small tree they are mounted on and cause massive triggers. I did this with a camera several years ago before I used the mounting sticks and had 700 triggers which filled the card and killed the batteries days before I came back to check it so I missed all the most recent intel. We can bait here, so I put salt blocks out in easy to reach places to inventory the bucks on trail cam. I don't care if they hit the camera at 1 a.m. before season, because only doing inventory and need to know if I need to concentrate my day time cameras in a certain area once season opens.

    I have found right now early bow season late afternoons is your best chance of killing a buck with it being so hot and if you can find a water source in the hot part of the season or creek bottom you will eventually run into a buck. If yall are like me i hunt public land so i can hunt 4 months out of the year and will be lucky to see 5 bucks.

    Very nice to actually watch a Video series that I can show my daughter, that girls can do this stuff as well, most of the ones you find they are more worried about selling their skin for likes. I want her to see that you can still be feminine and hunt or ride quads.

    • @KaitlynMausOutdoors
      @KaitlynMausOutdoors  Рік тому

      My dad took me out basically since I started walking. So i've been around it my whole life. I naturally had an interest in it so that helps. Don't force anything on her, just give her the option to shoot with you or go with you and let her decide! If she does go, try to make it a positive experience so she will be interested in going along in the future!🙂

      @joerome8882 just keep it on her terms and give her the option is my best advice. You wouldn't want someone forcing anything on you so she probably wouldn't like that either. In my opinion, even if she doesn't go along, as long as she supports it, that's a win
